Great for price / minor issues - SONOS Soundbar

Angles and legs... seems to be a recurring issue for some users. Knowing that I would wall mount and watch only from front these I disregarded those comments. Everything on the TV from setup and navigation (learning curve) to picture quality and use are as expected for a $399 TV... it's not a $1500 set..!! My ONLY issue was trying to connect my SONOS Beam via the HDMI-ARC. The system works fine when watching a streaming service such as Netflix or Amazon, however this is NO sound output to the sound bar when watching standard TV channels. Repeating and reviewing the setup procedures multiple times was to no avail. The on-screen menu listed at least a couple of manufacturers for sound bars but did NOT list a Sonos.. Why? Scouring the forums has also not revealed a solution! This is one of the reasons I bought the TV and am therefore a bit disappointed. I would still recommend based on the other points of the TV for the price.

This is the first smart Tv I would buy, I must say its a very good TV, setup is very easy and I love the fact that its got a bluetooth. Also, the youtube app is just marvelous. You could be playing a youtube video on your phone and it plays on the TV screen, and with that you can do close youtube on your phone and do some other stuffs, but the video keeps playing on your TV. You can also change the settings of the display to suit what you want, like cinema mode, game mode etc. Am glad I paid the extra $20.

    Average 4K TV

I have been a loyal Samsung tv fan since 2005, when I bought my first LCD tv. After this purchase, I purchased three more Samsung televisions. My last Samsung purchase in 2015 was the 50" 3D model and I love it. An amazing tv. Well July 2018 arrived and I wanted to upgrade to a 4K tv for my newly remodeled "man cave." After reviewing other customers' reviews and speaking with the "infamous" Best Buy GEEK SQUAD, I purchased the LG UK6300 PUE 50" model. It was a returned "open box" for $ 360. No one couldn't beat this price! Amazon failed! Crutchfield failed! So I bought it. I liked the 4K feature. The picture quality was average, and the frame size was comparable to my old Samsung LCD tv. The frame size is a little "bulky." My Samsung 3D tv has a slim frame size. It measures 1 1/2". Don't get me wrong, the tv is nice and has an updated 4K feature. I watch my 4K Ultra Blu Ray movies and I'm impressed. A few customers complained about the "Wi-Fi internet" connection and the speakers, having a poor sound. I didn't have any issues. The tv has an amazing connection and the speakers are nice. I would recommend this model to friends and family who wish to start out with an average 4K tv. As a matter of fact, I'm glad that I didn't purchase the UJ model. There are many issues with this model. But honestly, I wish I would have waited for the LG 55" Class LED SK8000PUA. I saw that "picture quality" and my mouth dropped! I will definitely become a LG fan when I buy this tv.

    Disappointed

My previous TV, a 50 inch Samsung 1080p TV had an issue with random power cycling. I had had purchased extended warranty and Geek Squad offered to exchange it for this LG model. Based on reviews on Best Buy I was comfortable with that. When the TV was first turned on, it seemed bright and everything looked good. However, I had the following issues: 1. No matter what I tried, the screen seemed dark and pictures looked washed out while connected to my Satellite Receiver. 2. When I connected to my Windows 10 laptop via HDMI, the picture on the TV displayed just a solid green picture. Tried changing HDMI ports on the TV but that did not make a difference. When I connected to a laptop running Windows 7, the picture on the laptop was displayed on the TV. (I am not entirely sure if this is driver or OS issue as this was not an issue with a different TV) 3. Using the connection in #2, the picture was okay at first but then would automatically somewhat dim making everything dull, dark and washed out. The picture would then randomly brighten at other times. No amount of trying brightness or contrast settings would help with this. The LG model, when it's just powered on and showing the pictures it came with looks very good but had a bunch of problems when connected to Satellite Receiver or laptop. I did not give this review a lower rating because I wanted to give LG a benefit of the doubt. Perhaps the TV itself was defective but at the same time was wary about trying another LG after this so I took the TV back to Best Buy and exchanged for another Samsung.

    Documentation and features are vague

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The documentation that came with the TV are very limited and require a trip to the LG home page. The advertised features like Google Assistant and voice commands require the LG "Magic remote" which would mean either a trip back to the store or a Amazon order... (the Best Buy store was out of stock for the Magic remote). The remote that came does not support the advertised features that the sales person touted. Other than that, after a call to LG tech support (USELESS), and a call to Google fiber tech support, the TV is now functional but requires both the Google remote and the LG "standard" remote that came with the set to access all the desired functions. The $60.00 up-charge for the "magic remote" was a disappointment from what we expected more of a "top of the line company" like LG. Other than that, the picture is very good and the sound is OK.

    Off to a terrible start

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I’m giving 2 stars because I’m hopeful that once I’m able to finally use it the picture will be as amazing as the display. The first one I bought was missing pieces and one of the legs was broken. I exchanged it, verified it had everything in it, got home and screwed the legs in, and as soon as I stood it up, one of the legs snapped. So I have a $500 tv, that comes with the cheapest legs possible, and I can’t even use it! Unbelievable!! And the first exchange through Best Buy was so awful, that I feel like I can’t exchange this one so I’m stuck with a broken tv. So now I have to buy a wall mount to hopefully mount the tv, which I didn’t want to do because I have an old house with plaster walls and I’m not even sure that a wall mount is possible. Buyer beware. Only buy this tv if you plan to mount it. I poured over reviews and finally made a decision to buy this tv...already regret it.

Having bought A LG Television for the first time 4years ago, I also bought the 5 year extended warranty. It is worth it. The Geek Squad couldn't fix the defect so they sent a new LG Television. It was 50" . My old one was a 47". It's not as expensive as the first on, however prices have come down in years. Plus this is a better Television, having more features than the old one. I did buy the extended warranty on the new one. 5 years. Thanks Best Buy and Thanks Geek Squad. You guys are Great!

Purchased this tv only to turn it on one day and got only a black screen plus sound. Tried everything for over an hour. Finally, sound and picture returned. Next day, same thing, turned it back off and on, then no sound, no picture. Checked online and find this is a common problem with LG, something to do with the LED pack. Later picture and sound came back on and I reset to factory settings. Also spoke with LG rep who had me unplug the TV for one minute and plug back in. LG said could be factory static buildup or may be defective and to return it since was still within the 15 day return period. Anyway, turned back on for a few hours and tv worked fine. Since the TV already proved twice there is a problem we took it back and regrettably exchanged it for the exact model. Day 1 of new TV and there is a white horizontal line running straight across the middle of the picture, every channel, from one side to the other. No reset would fix it. So again this TV will be going back. Going with a different brand, perhaps Sony, this time. No more LG for us. It is a shame because the TV had great picure and sound when it worked. On the up side, Best Buy personnel have been very professional, understanding, helpful and kind.

    Tv stand sucks

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First off the stand is a hunk of crap. We just got home with it 30min ago and the base peice you have to twist and lock in place. When we put the tv on our tv stand the peice snapped and tv fell off. They really dont make these stands like they used too with the big heavy bases. They are just 2 lb peices of small plastic. So stupid.

Too many features on this unit don't work

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I researched these TVs until I was cross-eyed. Had it narrowed down to a couple but went with this one because of a couple features I thought I needed (bluetooth) and the others didn't have. Those features turned out not to matter because the picture quality on this unit is terrible in all modes. TV shows and movies are not appearing in HD at all, especially football games and the like. There are no settings to be found for brightness, contrast, etc. either Maybe this is a new trend? There are what look like heatwaves coming off a hot road in summer coming off football helmets, (not pixelation) and the grass on the fields is blurred. The Sports video setting is horrible and more vivid in color than the "vivid" setting. None of the picture settings are good. The apps are unusable because when I log onto my wifi through the TV, it lets me get no further than the password--the Connect button stays greyed out. I went back to BB twice to talk to "experts" who had some suggestions, but that too failed. One guy said he knew in the past that HDMI 1 port was the one to use, but that was worthless advice. Neither of the USB ports were powerful enough (I guess) to power an external BluRay drive, which my old laptop easily powers. it's the only BluRay gadget I have for the moment; I wanted to see if a BluRay disc I have looked better than the signal I get through my cable box. So I couldn't test that and I don't have an ethernet wire to see if I can get to the apps without the wifi. There's no suggestion in any of the online info (on the net or on the TV itself) for how to troubleshoot any of this stuff. The medium setting on the voice assist setup talks faster than the old Fedex fast talker; you have to have it on Slow for it to make sense, but then it automagically switches back radomly. I thought LG was supposed to be one of the top brands. One of the BB guys said he'd get that before he'd get either of the other two brands I was considering. I wasn't considering a Vizio even though I used to have one. The sound on that one was a little weak, but everything else on it was excellent. Since I don't hear as well as I used to, I blocked Vizio out; they also have one of the lowest wattage audio outputs I've seen. But now I've had it with this LG and am going back for something else, probably a Vizio.

One Major Flaw Makes this TV Unacceptable

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The picture is beautiful if you sit directly in front of it, once you move to the right or left, the picture starts to wash out. I called LG to see if this is something I can correct, but they said this is an issue with this type of TV. Had to return it for that reason. I wanted to like this TV because there were other things I liked about it, but the angle view is horrific.

I tried every control and can't get a picture that good. Yes I am looking at 4K. I have 3 Samsung's. And they make this TV look sick.I should have returned this LG RIGHT AWAY. Poor Viewing Angle, Inconsistent Volume

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

As a previous owner of LG televisions, I was really disappointed to find that the viewing angle and picture quality of this TV is worse than the cheapest, no-name 4K TVs you can buy from Walmart and Target. When you are sitting directly in front of the screen, the picture is decent. However, when you are more than 20 degrees off to the left or right of the screen the darks look greenish and the lights get badly washed out. Another major disappointment was that the sound volume was inconsistent between channels, which can get old really quick. Going to return this TV to Best Buy and shop for a Samsung. After this experience, it would be hard to ever go back to LG.
