It is advertised as 120hz but it is clearly 60 hz.

Returned the TV for a Samsung because it was not what was advertised. It is a 60Hz TV not a 120Hz. And it is not True Motion. Looked through all of the documentation and could not find anything referencing True Motion. Very disappointed.

In the interest of full disclosure I am a BestBuy employee and I work in the Home Theater department, but I am also a purchaser of this TV. So I know what I am talking about, and hope the following helps (BestBuy employees are not on commission and I am not being compensated in any way for this review): Overview I read many of the reviews between buying the TV and when I picked it up. I was originally concerned with some of the reviews' statements about picture quality, especially with regard to the refresh rate (eg. 60/120Hz). After having setup the TV, though, I can say from experience that the TV is great. It was a great buy for the price $499 (black Friday pricing down from $999 originally). I am normally a Samsung purchaser, but there was no way I could pass-up such a great bargain on a top-notch brand, like LG. Now, I do wish it had more HDMI ports, but seriously I don't NEED more than the 2 it has. I have Satellite and a BluRay player, and no gaming systems. Someone with additional devices will either need a different TV or need to purchase a $79 HDMI port selector. Setup Setup was easy. It does take 2 people to setup the TV, not due to weight, but merely size. One will need to steady the TV while the other attaches the base. As long as each can lift 25-30 pounds, it can easily be lifted on the whatever TV-stand or piece of furniture on which the TV will rest. I got off work late, so I did not mount it. I plan to mount it, though. My DirecTv remote programmed to it easily (code 11423). I did poke through some of the picture and sound settings, as well. Mainly I changed from Eco setting which can dull the picture to "Standard" which has good saturation without washing-out the picture. Size As for the size, it is a bit overwhelming in my living room, which is smaller. And considering that I went from a 37" Samsung LCD to this 55" LG LED, I am having to get used to the increased size and clarity. But just like a new pair of glasses, after a couple of days getting used to it, I will likely have no issues with its size. After all, this is why I bought the TV, right? Down-sides Again, the TV only has 2 HDMI ports, but that's really all I or most people need, unless they have many HD devices, like game systems. The TV's shared component and composite ports are sitting empty on my TV, because I have no older devices, like a VCR or DVD player. The TV would accommodate 1 of any such devices. The one port I do wish it had for my use is a headphone (also referred to as a 3.5mm or audio out) port because I am using a unique audio setup. The TV does have the standard Digital Optical audio port. People with older surround sound systems (without HDMI or Digital Optical options) will need to buy a newer audio receiver (also sometimes called a tuner/amp/head unit). But this situation is not unique to this TV, as most TVs sold now do not have Digital Coax or other audio output. Sharp is one of the few brands that consistently offers some of the older standards, as well as the current. So it is worth mentioning for those people new to HDTVs, the TV's speakers are lackluster. This TV has 2 10w speakers on the back of the TV, which is typical for new TVs. This, though, provides unfulfilling sound. Even when turned at maximum volume, there isn't much sound, and what sound there is, is very limited in audio range (no high "highs", no low "lows"). For ALL new TVs going in living rooms and family rooms, some additional sound equipment will be necessary (not so necessary for bedrooms, except in certain cases). Whether the audio solution is a full surround sound system or simply a soundbar, either will be a dramatic improvement over the level and quality of sound provided by this and all new TVs. Not so much an issue with the TV, but with LG is that their website isn't as great as Samsung's, which only matters for issues of finding accessories for the TV, such as a smart adapter. Also this TV does not have a manual available on the LG website. Because it was a special run model for the holiday season, I do not know if they will be adding one. So, be sure to keep the paper manual that comes with the TV, something I usually don't do because of the availability of manuals online. The TV also does not have a page on the website, which means that looking up specifications and features is not possible. One of the other reviews I read said that the writer, having called LG, was told that this model was essentially the same as another model, but still I'd prefer to have information specific to this model that I know pertains to it 100%. Maybe I am being picky. Refresh Rate Now for the widely debated issue of refresh rate, here is the truth. Unless you are watching fast action, such as video gaming, action movies or really fast sports (Nascar, Hockey and maybe Basketball), then refresh rate doesn't matter at all. Assuming that it does matter to you for one of the above reasons, then you should be getting a Plasma, anyway (unless you are in a room with so many windows that it will cause glare). Most people asking for 120Hz TVs don't know why they want or need one, but merely that they've been told by friends and family to get one, and higher numbers are always better, right? The fact is that if you are not watching video games, fast-paced sports or action movies, then 120/240/600Hz will not matter. Now, I turned on an action movie to see how it displayed it and noticed some pixelation during close-up, fast-paced scenes, but the motion was moving so fast, I was having a hard time keeping up with the action anyway (it was a car chase scene in the movie "G.I. Joe"). For my TV watching, which includes some action movies as a part of overall watching, the motion rate of this TV works fine. Summary There is no comparison. For the price, this TV can't be beat. Whatever features it might be lacking, are more than made-up for by the price I paid. The only 55" LEDs at this price otherwise are MUCH lower-end (inferior) products. And for those features it does not have, such as smart or 3D, I would have had to pay at least $1,500 for a TV at this size. LG and Samsung are the top tier brands in terms of R&D, features, and quality (truly a Coke and Pepsi preference situation between the 2 though). So comparing this to other brands' 55" is misleading because this TV has quality that the others won't. Again, I hope this information helps.

I never write reviews but since there was so little information on this TV, I figured I'd put my two cents in. I'll give a little background first so you know where I'm coming from. I'm a 31-year-old guy who is REALLY price conscience. I also take really good care of my stuff so it lasts forever. I'm good with technology but I can't afford to spend a lot of money on every new device that comes out. I have been doing fine with my 39-inch box TV and a Roku system for Netflix (despite laughs from friends). So, last Thursday I decided to check out the whole Blackfriday craziness for the first time for fun. The "craziness" turned out to be letdown, and a plus at the same time, when I drove to a less popular Best Buy. I showed up at 4pm for the 6pm doorbuster opening and saw practically no one! At 4:30, the employees started handing out tickets for all the door busters and I was right there for all of them! I originally wanted a new laptop or tablet but I had read online about this $999 TV that Best Buy was selling for $499 and I couldn't believe I actually got a ticket for one (I'm never that lucky!). I had also gotten a ticket for the $199 Blackfriday PS3 bundle with The Last of Us and Batman Arkham Origins games (which is another great deal since the games are $60 each and the control is $55 on its own). So, on the spur of the moment, my game plan changed and I bought the TV and the PS3. I figured I could always return it if I didn't like it. I think the TV is amazing! I have seen my friend's TVs and this one could easily hold its own. At 55 inches, it is so big that you kind of get lost in the screen. Regular SD channels on the TV look fuzzy and are tough to look at but HD channels are insanely clear. The color is incredibly rich and vibrant. I watched the new Star Trek movie on Blu Ray and I spent the whole time thinking how great every scene looked. I was also able to play games and watch movies using the full screen (16:9 ratio) without any stretching or distortion. Only older TV shows on Netflix looked a little fuzzy. I think this has something to do with how they were filmed at the time. Newer shows like House of Cards look great. A lot of people have complained about the 2 HDMI ports but I am only using one to hook up my PS3 and that is all I need. The PS3 turns the TV into a smart TV with Netflix, Youtube, Facebook, etc. Since it is also a Blu Ray Player, I only need the one port. You can also turn the TV into a smart TV with any PS3/Xbox/Roku/AppleTV device so you don't have to spend a fortune for that added feature. The speakers are not great. But there is something unique I've found that is an accidental plus. I live in an apartment with thin walls. I can sometimes hear my neighbors TV and I've always worried that my TV is too loud. With this TV, since the bass is not the best, I can actually hear everything at very low volumes. For example, I was up until 5am last night playing The Last of Us (great game!) and I didn't worry about my neighbors at all. For me, the speakers are perfect. In the end, you might want a sound bar but those are cheap. The other issue people talk about is the 120Hz. Unlike most people, I really like the soap opera effect. My friend's TV is set up that way and I wanted a TV that was 120Hz so I could get the same effect. Unfortunately, this TV won't do it because it is not really 120Hz. As everyone else has said, the TV is really 60Hz with LG's TruMotion effect that tries to create the 120Hz effect. A little research on the Internet will tell you that this is pretty much the norm on most HDTVs now. Every brand has their version of TruMotion. However, most people HATE the soap opera effect. If you don't like the soap opera effect, then you will love this TV even more. The picture and clarity are pushed to their full potential right before looking like The Days of Our Lives. The clarity is so good that you will get over any concerns really quickly. There is still a little blur on sports, but I'll take a little blur over spending $2,000 for a true 120Hz TV any day! I'll admit that this is my first HDTV so my only reference points are my friend's TVs and the display models at Walmart and Best Buy. Still, I've had this TV for a few days and I'm blow away every time I turn it own. I started to second-guess my impulse buy pretty quickly, especially since this was a Best Buy exclusive. I started wondering if it is really worth $999 or if that is just Best Buy's fake markup since they are the only one's selling it. The price conscience side of me asked, "Did I just get conned?" So, I started researching online and I could not find a 55" NAME brand TV online anywhere for $500! Bottom line: If you need a smart TV but don't have a PS3/Xbox/Roku/AppleTV, this one obviously is not for you since it is just the TV. If you are one of the few people who likes the soap opera effect and cannot live without it, you will have to get a different TV (and bring your wallet). If you are looking for an AMAZING TV with an outstanding picture to watch TV, movies, play games, stream videos, and have the option to turn into a smart TV with a PS3/Xbox/Roku/Apple TV, this is the one!

FOR THOSE LOOKING FOR A NEW TV...I AM GIVING MY FULL SUPPORT BEHIND THE BESTBUY EXCLUSIVE 55" LG 1080p/120hz LED MODEL LN5100--it is on sale for $499.99, just to clarify about anyone confused regarding 60hz/120hz and people debating whether this tv is 120hz as stated on the box or 60hz as noted on page 29 of its owners manual. Currently ALL tv shows and blu rays broadcast in 60hz, however much like when HDTV first started and you had an HDTV but there werent HD channels, you weren't getting them in 'HD' just because you had an HDTV. buying a tv that is 120hz is simply meant for the future essentially. This tv will broadcast in 60hz with the ABILITY to show 120hz for a true 120hz device down the road. The fact that page 29 states 60hz it simply means if you connect a blu ray player to it, it will play in 60 hz because again blu rays do NOT play in 120hz, if you connect an xbox or playstation it will play in 60 hz. THIS particular model does NOT give you the option to what people call the 'soap opera' effect where movies look like home video, not having this option does not mean that the tv is not 120hz it just means it does not falsely create 120hz by using this effect. The example is say there are 10 frames shown, with 60hz you will see frame 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10..if it has this 'soap opera effect' it will show frames 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,9,9,10,10. essentially doubling the frames giving a more crystal clear appearance but still not actually in 120hz. The advantage of a 120hz over 60hz tv is that down the road when 120hz programming/video becomes available you will not have to replace your set. Also, save your money on a SMART tv, and get a SMART blu ray player instead, by doing this you save a few hundred bucks and can just stream directly from the blu ray player #as long as you have wifi# This is a wonderful deal and you CANNOT beat the size/price/brand combo..that is all

For a black Friday deal at $500 it was a stellar deal. All this junk about refresh rates basically amounts to snake oil. 60 Hz, 120, 240...who cares. The TV displays a fine picture and personally I think it looks great no matter the program I happen to be watching, granted, I am not a huge sports fan, but I do tend to watch a lot of programming with fast action. It's an LED and inherently it's not going to give the same quality that I feel a plasma does but LCD/LED technology has come a long way since 10 years ago when nothing could compete with the picture quality of plasma. I got it because the place where I put it (my family room# the TV tends to be on 24/7 and my 50" LG THX certified plasma was an energy hog at 295W. This LG only draws 59W by comparison...I will like my electric bill a whole lot better now. Yes, it is very basic with only two HDMI inputs, one component set, and one optical out but that's all my situation required. For the best picture I would suggest the settings below which I obtained from lcdtvbuyingguide.com. BTW, there is no "Tru motion" nor "Just scan" setting...not at least on the one I got. This TV is great for the price and features. The device operates at a native 60Hz with an internal refresh of 120Hz. The native 60Hz exceeds the Hz of the actual sources. The TV pumps up the image to 120Hz via TrueMotion (Motion Interpolation) in order to eliminate artifacts and provide an overall better image. Other manufactures do the same thing but call the process something different. No 120Hz TVs/screens are at this price range and size, or even close. There is no need since consoles are barely capable of doing 60Hz and other forms of media are around the 30Hz range. Monitors are the only true 120Hz screens, since computers are capable of putting out 120Hz if not more. A 120Hz 23" LCD (not LED) monitor costs at least 199$. Add another 100$ for LED. The biggest common monitor is only 27". First and foremost i purchased this tv for gaming(70%) and movie nights(30%).I been playjng Battlefield4 and COD ghost on my ps4 since its arrival, and i can not notice any sort of input lag, and let me be clear i play online only i can not for the life of me tell you a single segment of the single player component if my life was on the line. I hope some of these reviewers did not dissuade anyone from this awesome purchase. Granted I spent a minute on getting the settings just right. I'm also on Netflix as I write this review(the lorax) for experimental purposes of acourse , and it looks insane as in real good.for those ppl who have input lag and the refresh rate and yada yada .....I think you should get a better internet connection instead of a better tv(lag issues) also hooked up to my video card,gpu or whatever you want to call it.thru hdcp And guess what? It says 1920x1080p at 120hz o_O, granted it's $500 worth of hertz but it's there. Sounds blows but they.....are ... 10watt speakers,what did you expect? And the other negative if you can call it tha,the lack of inputs.....really you are crying over 2 inputs I guess the tv is pretty dated...or is it that you need to catch up with the times . Seriously how many inputs to you need?? I have my laptop and ps4 and I could bring third world country's to there knees if need it be. But whatever. Bottom line, T.Vs with better specs and more inputs that would put a swiss army knife to shame exist and maybe with the same specs. This TV is a 1080p TV with 120htz. Yes, it is a 60htz TV but they use their TrueMotion technology to simulate the 120htz. Do people realize that every major company has their own form of Truemotion? LG has Truemotion, Panasonic has its backlight scanning, Samsung has CMR (clear motion rate), Sharp has AquoMotion, Sony has MotionFlow, you get the picture. People act as if this is a bad thing. These technologies are a love or hate type of thing, and as someone who spends time at AVSforum, you will know there are people who love the soap opera affect and people who hate it (which in essence is what they do). Good thing, all of the TV's that use this technology are optional, so you can go into the settings and turn them off or adjust them. My Samsung has the same thing, advertised as 120htz, ended up being 60htz with the CRM and its amazingly good to look at. Don't forget, you're getting a 55" 1080p LG LED panel for 500 bucks. Cmon, stop complaining.

I avoided the Black Friday lines and instead stayed up until 2:00am on Thanksgiving morning and ended up buying this online before the Black Friday sales. I was out of town visiting in-laws so I just got the TV delivered and set it up yesterday. I was starting to get worried by reading some of the reviews and was thinking that maybe I had gotten a bad deal. But, after hooking everything up and spending the evening in my chair watching tv shows to a football game I had on my DVR I was very pleased. I do not have any complaints with the picture quality and in fact feel as though it was a huge step up from the 32" 780p 60hz TV I was upgrading. There are various settings so that you can customize the picture to how you want it. I also do not have any complaints about the sound quality. I don't understand what people are expecting TV speakers to sound like. From other reviews I take it they expect a TV to sound like surround sound or a theatre. I had no problems hearing anything going on and once again there are different settings so you can customize the sound quality. The only things I have found that I do not like are the lack of HDMI ports and the lack of AV hookups. I have 3 devices that I needed HDMI ports for (DirectTv box, PS3, and AppleTv) but a quick trip to RadioShack and a less than 20 dollar purchase of a HDMI switch will solve this. The AV hookups were needed because I have a stereo headunit that is connected to ceiling installed speakers. The stereo is older and does not have Digital Optical Audio capabilities. I took a trip to RadioShack and bought a Digital Optical Audio converter and a Digital Optical Audio cord and problem solved. Overall, if you want to buy the TV then buy it. If you don't want to, then don't. Not every TV is going to give the exact same experience as another of the same make, model, item #, etc., so remind yourself of that while you read reviews. I am happy wiht my TV and my purchase overall.

Initially, I was skeptical about buying this TV. This was an exclusive manufactured for Best Buy's Black Friday event, so I wondered if LG cut corners to bring out a TV at this price. Now after using it a couple days, there definitely are shortcomings, but overall I'm EXTREMELY satisfied for how much TV I got for a mere $500. The good: -The sound is surprisingly good. Not much bass, but it's loud and clear. -Picture quality is great Shortcomings: -Not enough ports. Only 2 HDMI outs. -No Smart TV features. (which isn't a big deal if you own a game system, or Roku.) -Not too thin. Don't expect it to be the size of a picture. At it's thickest, I'd say it's about 3- 4 inches. -Remote needs to be pointed directly at the TV or it won't work. Often have to push multiple times for it to register my inputs. I do believe some shortcuts were taken to bring the price down. Fortunately, the picture quality remains just as good as any other LG. For the price I paid, I can't complain. When I tried a 1080p bluray movie, all my small qualms were quickly forgotten. On more small thing I must mention: to everyone complaining that it's not true 120hz, I have gamed just fine on this TV and the games look beautiful. Most games rarely ever go beyond 60 fps anyway, so I don't see the big deal.

For anyone on the fence about this exclusive model, I contacted LG and was informed that this is a model made exclusively for Best Buy and Walmart. This model is almost identical to the 55LN5400 but doesn't have the smart share features. You can look up the 55LN5400 and see there are a lot of positive reviews on that set. And at $499 for a 55 inch direct lit LED its a no brainer. Smart features were not a concern to me as my Xbox has many of the same features through it, same with it having only 2 HDMI. I only use 1. But beware if you hook all of your components up to a TV and need more than 2 HDMI inputs.

Replaced my 42in Sony Bravia that I've had for 7years. Didn't have a big budget so when I saw this deal I jumped. I consider myself very technical, and I'm an avid gamer. I have to say the T.V. has performed great. YES, it's a stripped down model, and YES it has only two HDMI, BUT you have to consider the T.V. is only $500!!! You can't beat that. For 99% of you reading this, considering if you should get it, the T.V. will be fine. People who are giving bad reviews because of the lack of ports, of the fact it's not a true 120hz are simply splitting hairs. Most people aren't going to notice. Gaming- I game more than I watch T.V. and have zero issues with the refresh rate. I play MW3 and Black Ops beautifully. Color is amazing. Sound- Sound could be better, but then again how many of us use the actual TV speakers vs. surround sound system. Size- My couch is about 15 feet away from the TV. The viewing is great. I'd say an ideal size.

Here are the calibrated settings for the LG 55LN5400, which according to research is the same panel as this TV. I wanted to post them here since this is a "limited edition" model so to speak and this information is not easy to find elsewhere. I tested these settings on our TV and they are quite good for both HD broadcasts and blu-ray. Note that all of these settings do not have a comparable adjustment on this TV but just enter as many as you can. Like many of the past reviews, I too purchased this TV set on Black Friday on a whim. I went to a local Best Buy store not thinking they would have any of these left. I originally was trying to get the 50" Vizio Smart TV for $599 but those couldn't be found anywhere. So when I saw this for $100 less and 5 more inches of screen size I went for it. I know it lacks the smart features of the Vizio but I was willing to sacrifice that for the a bigger screen(which looks great in the bedroom) and $100 cheaper. Also, I have all the smart features I need in the Sony Blu Ray player I picked up for $54. I did lose out on the 3D features though but I figured when I replace my main tv that I will get 3D for that. So I bought this thinking that I would return it if I didn't like it or if a better deal came along or if it got horrible reviews. None of that has happened. I really love the size for the room it's in, all prices for TV's in this size range are way more money, even for a basic set, and the reviews so far are pretty positive. The whole 60hz-120Hz isn't a huge deal breaker for me at this point and I'm actually glad this doesn't show the "soap opera" effect. When I first bought the TV, I thought I was going to regret buying a special "made for Best Buy" TV, but as each day goes on, I can't believe how much a a good deal this was and to top it off, paying only $499 for the TV allowed the 5 year Geek Squad protection to be $99. Not bad considering the size and how much those contracts can be for pricier sets. The picture quality is above average, especially after some tweaking. You have to shut the Eco mode off, otherwise it keeps dimming. There is some online calibration settings you can use also. The sound is good too and having it in a bedroom, I don't need it super loud or huge bass. I picked up a soundbar just in case but I haven't attached it since the sound has been good. Overall, I am very happy so far with this purchase and was happy to have found one on Black Friday. I went into a Best Buy last night and they had one of these TV's for sale at the regular $999 price. I would not buy this at that price point since there are better options out there in that range in my opinion. I actually saw a 60" LG TV in the store for the same price and when I pointed it out the clerk didn't know what to say. However, if you managed to buy one of these on Black Friday or can still find one for $499 and want a fairly large screen, then I would say this is a good deal that is hard to beat.

Ok.. This TV is a steal at 500$.. Yes no 3D (Who cares) no Smart technology but PS3 gives it the same abilities (Not to forget X1 box from Comcast makes every TV smart) and the 2 HDMI (Buy a 20 dollar switch to give you more) but 500 dollars? Thats crazy cheap! Negatives. Does take abaout 20 minutes to find that sweet spot for best picture After all said and done.. This is a great buy.. Great picture and features. The refresh rate is good enough to give this TV a great grade and I have no regrets! So people who are upset about No WIFI or Smart technologies.. It clearly said LED tv not LED smart tv.. No worries here Just get yourself a PS3/PS4 and a HDMI switch to make this perfect.

I purchased this TV a few hours after doors opened on Thanksgiving, not thinking there would be any left. To my surprise, there were still several remaining. I was a little worried at the beginning when researching this TV, as there was nothing to find since it was brand new. But having a 47" LG LED already, I figured a 55" LG LED at this price would be a steal. Set up was simple with pre-existing wall mount already up. I was very pleased with the picture quality and sound quality of this TV. There is some debate about 120hz vs 60hz. Personally, I don't see any difference in quality from my 47" to this 55". The only thing I wished this TV had was one more HDMI port. Bottom line, if you were able to snatch this TV up for the black friday price you got yourself a great buy! I am very pleased with this TV and would recommend it to anyone.

No, it isn't a feature rich TV, but you'd be hard pressed to find a 55" for this price, especially by a known company. I don't generally buy TV's sight unseen, but I've been happy with my LG screens in the past, so I took the gamble. After maybe 30 minutes of tweaking, I had the settings dialed in to where I was happy. My only gripe is it has a fairly narrow viewing angle, it tends to get washed out beyond 60 degrees off axis (I have found that the lower the backlight, the less obvious this becomes). The lack of connections may turn some off, but everything runs to my receiver, so I only have one HDMI cable going to the screen anyway. I can't really comment on the sound quality as I'm using a receiver with external speakers. I have read that there's a lack of just scan, this is only the case on certain inputs. It is available on the HDMI inputs. I don't feel the overscan is that severe on this set, so I keep mine set to 16:9 to avoid border artifacts on some sources. TV, Gaming and Blu-Ray sources all look great. I'd suggest using an adjustment app like THX Tune-Up, or the THX optimizer found on some THX certified DVDs. This will get the PQ 95% of the way there and then you're free to make minor adjustments until you're happy. It's not for everyone, but I just wanted a dumb screen, I got a great price and the picture is excellent, especially for $500.

I picked up this TV on Black Thanksgiving.... Not expecting them to have any left in stock as I came a couple hours after they opened, to my surprise they had a few left and I was lucky enough to get one. I was upgrading my living room tv from a 32" Samsung 720p LCD tv to this 55" LG 1080p LED tv. So this was a nice upgrade! The picture is great, very bright and vivd, and many settings can be changed to set up the picture how you like it or for different light settings, which is nice! Setup was a little challenge for me doing it a lone, but would be pretty simple for 2 people, the main challenge is getting the base on, make sure you have a long phillips screwdriver as the base has deep holes for the screws. Other than that, 7 screws and it is ready to put on a stand! I am very happy with this TV so far, have been using it for a few days now. Watching lots of sports (NHL, NFL, NCAA basketball) and no problems with speed or anything that other reviews talked about... Don't read too much into it... Great Deal at 499.99 for a tv worth 999.99!

We had our mind set on a Vizio TV that was on sale but they were out of them online and in the store. We saw the LG's by the front entrance and as we were discussing buying one, saw that they were going like hot cakes so we made the decision and bought one for the $499 advertized price. Set up was fairly simple once you get it out of the box. Don't try lifting the TV out of the box: the box top and sides lift off leaving the TV standing in the bottom. Attaching the base was easy, just 7 screws total some of which will require a longer screwdriver because of the base design. There are only 2 HDMI inputs so if you have multiple HDMI sources, you may want to look at buying a hub. We only have the Smart Blu-Ray and Cable box to hook up and it was very simple, straight forward. One downside was not having an audio output that would work with our soundbar so that may be the next purchase (Christmas wish list). Once we had it set up, we played some movies to "test the picture quality" and after making a few adjustments to the settings, we were pleasantly surprised at how good it is. We also had to "test" by watching some football and that is where you can tell that the refresh rate is not a true 120HZ but it is still a decent picture. I will admit that if you're not watching a HD channel, the lag is a bit worse, to be expected, I'd think. Overall, we're happy with our purchase.
