Great inexpensive TV except...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this TV if you must face your antenna in different directions to pick up all your channels. There is no way to add or search for additional channels. It wipes out stored channels every time you search. This is a Roku TV problem and would happen on any Roku TV. TV had to go back. I liked everything else about it for an inexpensive TV.

Great Picture and Features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a spur of the moment purchase. I picked it up Black Friday for later in the day and I was not planning on it but I thought for $449 I would try it. The picture quality is pretty good. It is not stellar but the blacks are descent. The built in sound is surprisingly good for the money. I did buy the LG soundbar thinking I would need it but the built in speakers are good enough for regular shows and the news. As a Roku user this was a HUGE plus and the reason I tried it out. Love the remote and the responsiveness of the Roku interface. Setup was a breeze and I like that it has labels for different gaming consoles and equipment. What can I say for $449, a 55" LED TV with built in Roku, decent picture and sound you can't beat it!!! Kids love it and I find the picture better than our older Sharp Aquas LCD TV.

Excellent tv set
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went out for HDMI cable and came back home with this TV set (Best Buy) First off- those of you that recently paid more than $ 449.00-go back and get the price match-Best Buy will honor it.I bought it Saturday (after Black Friday) for that price.. As few people before here mentioned-you can skip the initial Internet setup if you don't feel like messing around with Roku accnt.- and want to jump straight watching your cable...I have to say I like the fact this TV is more on the,, User Friendly" side-there isn't a million diff. picture settings to mess with-but perfectly enough to get the picture calibrated to your liking..I started off with the pre-set- Normal Mode- and tweaked few settings..Screen is not too glossy, thus you don't need dark room with shades down- (not as matte as lets say VIZIO E-c3 series) - but its just right..Programming my (XFINITY Comcast) remote was a breeze..I tested Bluray player and my kids PS4-all looked great(remember to calibrate your Picture settings for each device individually) I watched ice hockey and racing and sports look fantastic ..I don't understand how some people would still complain about not having a ,,thundering sound"coming out of these type of TV's (one inch thick)!!..sound bars are so affordable nowadays..All in all-this is a perfect 55 " TV ,respectable brand-for few hundred $$ less then all other leading brands (Samsung,Sony etc..) I own (3) LG tv sets (42",55" 65") and they all work great..

Great LED TV for it's price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first smart TV and I have to say, I'm impressed with LG. The picture quality is great and the colors are as well. Roku is pretty good, precise when selecting around the menus. The only thing is when starting up the TV, it's takes about 5-7 secs before you get introduced to the smart menu. One other thing that might irk people is that you always have to choose which source you want to view. It's a bit cumbersome but not bad by any means. Amazed by the picture quality and color reproduction. On par with Samsung. The sound is average. Could be louder, but not complaining too much about it. A sound bar would solve that. Blu-ray movies look amazing on this TV. Even at 60Hz, there doesn't seem to be noticeable blur when watching sports. If you want smoother rates go with a TV that has 120Hz or higher, but this TV does the job. Picked this up on Black Friday weekend for about $449. It was definitely worth it. This is not a 4K TV, only 1080P but its more than adequate and gets the job done nicely. Has 3 HDMI ports which is more than enough for connections. If you're looking for a great smart TV with very good picture quality then I would definitely recommend this one.

Very Impressed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a 'dumb' tv as I have my own media player already, but couldn't turn this down being that it's a great size, great price, and has Roku built in. Quite frankly even you don't use the Roku functionality, using this as a regular monitor for your other components, it's worth getting. I am upgrading from an LG 42" LCD. This is a big difference. The picture I think is quite stunning. It's a great picture. The sound is a disappointment though. That's the only reason I'm not giving this a full 5 stars. The netflix and hulu apps work very quickly and show stunning videos. I've only had this a few hours now, but it's been streaming both netflix and hulu since it was turned on. Hasn't skipped a beat yet. Even watching old shows that were originally done in SD and unconverted look just fantastic! The roku setup was incredibly easy. I put in my account info and it went straight in, updated the software and was quickly back up. This is really a great setup. I routed the sound via an optical cable to my Yamaha receiver to get the better sound. (The sound really is something that is not what a tv of this size should be.) I've got my Apple tv plugged into it as well as my tivo box and it works very good. Very good picture quality and no motion blur seen as yet. Streaming works great and quick. You can control it with a roku app on your smartphone as well. Really very easy to use, great picture, and super simple setup make this a great tv. I got this on a Black Friday deal and I'm extremely happy. Oh and the stand goes on in a snap. Absolutely Recommend!!

High Quality TV, Great Price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will first start out by saying this an honest review and I do not work for BestBuy or LG. This TV has been an extremely great experience. I spent days researching smart TVs from different websites and came across this one on BestBuy. Purchased for a price of $499, it was well below my budget (I recommend knowing what the prices are online before you purchase in the store, It was marked up $50 compared to what it was listed online but BestBuy will Price Match.) I was on the fence between LG's WebOS and this ROKU TV which was the main reason it took me a week to finally make the purchase. I was only planning on using the Netflix app anyways so paying the extra $150 to get LG's WebOS TV for a "better experience" turned me away. I will admit, I was very doubtful at first because of the negative reviews I came across like people saying it will develop a haze, the speakers are hard to hear, and you must go through ROKU screen first to get to the cable portion, but they were all wrong...at least in my case. It was pretty difficult to get out of the box at first opening but I guess that is good seeing as the TV is secure. I chose not to wall mount it yet so I installed the stand brackets which is a lot easier with a second person rather than alone. After setting it up and plugging in the HDMI cables it only took a few minutes to set everything up on the TV and change a few setting to my liking. The picture, in my opinion, is perfect. I came from having an original Philips flat screen TV from 10 years ago so I guess it didn't take much. The sound isn't an issue, I keep the volume on 15, I sit 15-20 feet away, and its plenty loud enough. You can disable the automatically going to the Roku home screen in the settings so it goes straight to cable or whatever you want it to go to. The refresh rate is good, there is no lag. I will say the remote for this is nothing but an oversized Roku remote with volume buttons on the side, but if you are still controlling your TV and Cable Box separately you should invest in a Logitech remote. I highly recommend this TV to anyone who is on a budget and wants a good quality TV.

Quality Picture/Great Software
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have many Roku's so am a fan of the Roku interface. I believe the Roku OS is much better than other TV operating systems. Roku will typically have more apps than your normal TV operating system. They'll probably be updated more often as well. Picture quality is decent. May not have a lot of picture tweak options like other high end TVs but it would suit most people just fine. 3 HDMI's is enough for most people. If you need more then typically you'd probably have a receiver anyways. Sound from the TV was surprisingly loud and clear. Price is affordable at $550 when I bought it. Could have purchased another brand at the same size for $200 less, but had worries of how good the quality would be. It didn't have Roku either (although I could have just bought the Roku separate for $100). In any case, I felt the price was fair. LG makes good TVs. The only thing I would mention that I felt this TV was missing is a ethernet input. It has wi-fi, which is fine but I typically like to hardwire my devices that are stationary in order to get the best speed as possible. I've got GB internet, so I don't want to limit my speed because of wi-fi.

Roku works fine. It's a good TV.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little worried about the performance of this TV because of the other reviews about the Roku. I decided to try the unit because of the door buster sales price, $499.99, and I'm glad I did. The picture is sharp and clear and I have no problems with the Roku; set up was simple. My router is right beside the TV and I have 15Mps/1Mps service through my ISP. I have tried Sling, Amazon, Netflix, and Hulu; all with no issues. I use an antenna for all of my local channels with no problem. I am very happy that I took a chance on the unit.

satisfied overall
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This television was easy to setup right out of the box. Connecting it to wifi was a breeze. I was surprised that I needed a computer or mobile phone to create a Roku account. Thank goodness it was a speedy process. The color is fabulous, the remote is easy to use. I highly recommend this tv.

Great tv!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have no complaints at all about the tv. Only issues is that I wish you could program it to a default setting of the last item watched. When tv turns on it goes right to home screen and I have to use the tv's remote to select cable, then switch back to my cable remote. And the little remote for the tv has the volume/mute buttons located on the side, so I always seem to hit mute when I'm selecting cable.... just another step to have to go through that is a pain, but the tv pic is great, the smart tv part is terrific, I'm using netflix much more now. You can't touch the price for a 55" smart tv. Had great luck with my old LG, I'm hoping this one is the same.

Very nice TV for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm normally a Samsung buyer when it comes to my LED TVs but i decided to try this LG mainly because of the good reviews on BB's site. I bought it for $499 along with a 10% USPS mover's coupon which brought it down to $450 plus tax. I was immediately impressed as soon as I hooked up my DirecTV receiver. The sharpness was dead on and the color and clarity was super. I usually have to tinker with picture settings to get them to my likings but not on this model. 100% dead on without adjusting a thing. This review is coming from someone that loves his beloved 75" Samsung 4K TV which will always be my main pride and joy. But I now have an awesome 2nd place TV in my spare living room when me and my wife feel like switching rooms. I highly recommend this TV.

Replacement for my dead 50" LG non-smart TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as a replacement for my 1 1/2 year old LG TV with a dead back light for the LED screen. Since this is a non conventional TV...setup was slightly different, as you must add your Roku account information or create an account. The TV is controlled by a Roku Remote with a power and volume controls. Not keen on the side placement of the volume controls...since I inadvertently hit them while accessing the top control buttons. You will still need a remote for your Cable/DVD/Play Station. I was pleased there are 3 HDMI ports...I now have room for all my devices and can throw my component cables in a drawer. Picture is nice and bright...and can be changed/controlled by pushing the * button on the Roku Remote. We have a TV stand rated for 50" TV...but this 55" fit well, since LG moved the legs closer toward the center of the TV. I'll give it a good rating at this time...but it better last longer than my previous LG...or I'll not buy another from them. Lastly...there is no real manual with the TV...only a setup guide.

Great Deal.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV was a great buy for the price. I managed to pick this TV up for 450 the Saturday after black Friday. The picture quality is good not great. The blacks are not the greatest, yet the picture is still very sharp. I am a Roku user and getting the TV with the built in roku is awesome. The roku is responsive, not as quick as my roku 3 I have in the bedroom but still plenty fast enough. I would recommend this tv to anyone looking for a great deal. Price v quality is great. Hopefully this tv holds out.

A great tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this tv it is one of the clearest 55 inch tvs I have seen that isn't 4K. I love how fast the Roku is and how easy it is to use. I am very happy with this tv and the only thing that isn't perfect is the black coloring is only decent it could be a little better but other than that it is a nice big tv.

Best price for the brand and size of TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent a good bit of time looking online for TVs and and I still cannot find a deal that beats this one. The 55" is a nice size and LG has a clear picture. It is simple to set up and the Roku Smart TV ability is worth about $100 by itself so you are getting a 55" TV for $400 with a Roku that makes it a fair price of $500. I bought this during an online sale and the TV was originally priced at $650 so i purchased it at $150 off. The TV is not heavy and the stands are modern looking and sturdy. Like many thin TVs, the speakers are not very quality, but do the job. The TV remote is based off of the Roku remote and is simple to use. I thought the remote could of been a lot cooler, I have seen $1200 LG Smart TV's with awesome remotes. Still not that big of a deal cause of the price. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this TV to anyone.

Nice tv for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I typically stick to buying only LG tv's, I like there color, and find there images to be clear. I have a higher end model in my bedroom and find the quality to be great on this roku model. The 60hrz refresh rate is not even an issue, pictures are still smooth and did not notice any flickering. I'm very happy with this tv, it's for the living room and just mainly needed a smart tv to connect to Netflix.
