We purchased this TV to replace old plasma flatscreen but returned because we did not like colors-too dark for my room and for my liking.

This tv looks nice and a good price but you get what you pay for... I purchased this tv because it is a smart tv but it acts very dumb.... it's always buffering and I know it's not my internet because everything else using my wifi including my two other smart TVs work great!!! Needless to say I've already exchanged it.

I needed LG technical support the first day I turned the tv on. The 2017 55" LG TV would freeze on one channel but you can turn and hear another channel playing in the background. I thought they fixed the problem but two weeks later it happened again. I returned the tv the next day and purchased a 55" Samsung. This was a much better purchase and with Best Buy price match I got it cheaper then it was advertised for.

This tv has lasted for over 5 years and has made it through 3 moves from 2 different states as well. Picture, sound quality, apps, are all still functional as when it got unboxed and added to my living room.

Decent Value, Significant ARC Audio Flaws

    Posted .

Pros: * Decent Picture Quality * Wide Media File Support * Interesting Smart TV Platform Cons: * Distorted Digital Audio Out for some sources * Underpowered processor * No SlingTV The 55LJ550M set is a decent monitor at its price point, and I _would_ be able to recommend this set if it were not for one significant issue: Audio Quality over HDMI ARC. When configured to send surround sound over ARC, the quality is inconsistent, leading to a sound that occasionally sounds like a skipping record. For this reason alone, I cannot recommend this monitor (at least with it's current firmware 04.70.07). The picture quality is good, although the back-lighting is a bit inconsistent, which is obvious during panning video scenes. Personally, I really like the WebOS Smart TV platform. Netflix and Amazon open up instantly, and the streaming quality is great. The Navigation is intuitive once it is configured. The platform supports a very wide range of media that can be played from your home network. Unfortunately, there is a fair amount of menu lag, especially when changing settings. Additionally, SlingTV is not available on this set, which is strange because the app IS available on other WebOS 3.5 sets.

TV is good, but legs are terrible

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Good Tv except the legs are not supportive at all! The whole time I’ve had this TV, the legs have been uneasy. We should have returned it when we noticed this, but we didn’t. It lasted until last night at 9pm. The legs finally gave in and the whole TV came crashing down. Thank goodness no one or my dogs were under the TV. It would have either hurt or killed them. Do not get this TV unless you can mount it. The legs are useless and a danger! I have reported this to the consumer products safety bureau and I’m contacting LG today. They had a recall on the 86 inch TV’s and needed to recall these also!

I loved the picture on this TV and the overall aesthetic, despite some small glitches from time to time where the TV would just randomly shut off. BUT then it died. At 1st it would still turn on but there was no picture then it wouldn't power on at all. I have to buy a new TV but now I'm scared to got with LG again. :(
