The smart t.v. function with this tv is simply light years ahead of Samsung. I cannot speak for other brands bc I don't own them. Very customizable picture settings for different rooms and lights. The remote is perfectly done. Absolutely beautiful bezel. The tv sound is even great for a newer tv.

Bought this TV on a Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal. Did a bit of research just to be sure, but it would have been hard to pass up such a good deal. The picture is incredible for the price. Great features, i.e. HDR, 4K, local dimming, and the LG Web OS interface is great! Good App support, great speakers, and overall great looking TV. Very pleased... would definitely buy this TV again!

This TV has a great picture and tons of features that make it easy to watch online content. Having the web 3.0 is great for surfing the Internet and with the magic remote with the pointer feature it is even easier. This was a great purchase and I am seeing colors now I never saw before.

I really like this LG tv. The colors are beautiful and the sound is fine without using any sound bar attached. The remote makes setup easy. We chose to use our own cable company's remote, but you can use this remote for it all. We bought this tv during the Memorial Day sale and was pleased with the price. I love the way Best Buy stands by their products, too.

Coming from a 2015 Hisense 4K tv I was blown away at the difference, it's night and day difference in quality. I view 4K content through Netflix and Youtube. Even 1080p 60fps looks amazing on it. I downloaded the Resident Evil Demo to test HDR out on my PS4 pro and it looked great, the tv gives a small notification in the top right corner when HDR is activated. I watch TV through Directv, those channels look correct now instead of slightly washed out on the Hisense. I have already recommended this tv to friends and my next tv will be an LG OLED panel

This was my first 4k HDR TV I ever purchased and I did a lot of research on which one to pick. I have not purchased a new TV in 9 years so a lot has changed. The bottom line is that this TV is very good not great. For the price of $799 you can not go wrong. But I wish I would have spent $200 more and purchased the 55KS8000 by samsung. But BB did not have in Stock when I made my purchase and was out of stock. Watching this TV in a dark room is not the best but during day light it looks fantastic. The Samsung is the opposite. Consumers report ratings showed to be true and rated this model very good and samsung excellent. If the price would have not gone back up on the KS8000 I would have taken mine back for exchange and pay the difference.

After reading many reviews, I narrowed my choice to this LG and a Samsung. The reviews of both were very helpful, but I was having trouble deciding between them. Some friends of ours purchased this LG and they loved it, so I decided to go with the LG. Setup was very easy and it is the perfect size for our medium size living room. Picture quality is fantastic and the Harmon Kardon built in speakers produce good quality sound. There is no motion blur with fast moving sports and movies. The remote is a little cumbersome to use, but is not a deal breaker. I don't use the streaming feature much, but have used the Amazon App without issue. This TV does not have the capability to stream directly from the Internet without an installed App or connected computer. Again, no big problem, I just hook up my laptop to live stream college football games I can't get otherwise. I highly recommend this television and don't regret my purchase one bit.

The happiest day of my life was the day my philips plasma TV died. That allowed me to actually buy, rather than dream of, a new TV! I knew I wanted to get a 4K LED but was amazed at the number of choices. At first I did not want a smart TV but found the choice limiting so I looked at the Sony, Samsung, and LG (I ruled out Vizio based on the data-gathering lawsuit). I chose this particular brand and model based on in-store comparison of price and picture quality. I also felt most relaxed trying to operate this TV in the showroom computed to the other brands UI.
I gave this review 5 stars because that means excellent, not perfect. This rating pretty much sums up my review of the goods. I was really surprised with the quality of upconverted video from SD and component inputs! There are downsides to my application. My home theater is a antique by modern standards, so it lacks HDMI switching and the audio routing that associated with that. I was able to work around that with an external switch. I then used the TV optical out to feed audio back into the amplifier. Where this causes problems is adjusting the audio source based on the selected input. For example I would like to be able to have the audio route through the TV speakers when antenna is selected and to the amplifier when other inputs are selected. This ability would allow for just watching TV without the home theater. As it stands the closest it comes to is internal speakers AND optical, which works, but care must be taken with the TV audio levels. A minor nuisance at worst.
I've read reviews degrading LG for a poor WebOS user experience. I did not experience that at all. Sure there is a navigation learning curve but that was mastered in a couple evenings. I really appreciate the WebOS defaulting to respecting my privacy compared to the opposite of the other brands (Vizio being the apparent worst.)
My only regret is the fact that I bought a 55 inch model. I chose this as a replacement for a 42 inch 1080i plasma. Following the viewing distance guide I knew ( obviously 4k obsoleted that) I could have bought a 65 or 70 inch! But alas budget also played a prominent role in my decision and for that reason alone I give this TV the mark of BEST VALUE!

I love this TV. This is not an OLED TV, but you can't beat it for the price! The 4K picture quality is absolutely great. The newer models are even better with preloaded Apps like YouTube TV. I've had this television for over a year and a half and it still performs like new. I love watching movies and sports on it. No need for peripherals like Apple TV or Amazon Fire TV to access Netflix or Prime, as the Apps are right there on your LG TV.

Just bought this fine tv 2 months ago and they're already asking me to review it. The unboxing went well. I bought this item as an "Open Box" so I was apprehensive. The geek squad put stickers all over it, you have to assume they throughly checked it out. There were no signed documents, that would've been reassuring. After my wife and I put it together I thought the stand could've been better. My unit has the Magic Remote w/speech. Haven't used the speech app yet. The setup was awkward and took me nearly 2 mos to figure out the universal remote setup. That's because the inputs on the rear were a different setup than I'm use to. (I must confess, I didn't read the complete on screen manuals till later.) If your setting up with a home theater etc make sure you get a HDMI-ARC cable. And that your home theater unit has a HDMI-ARC monitor port. You can get one on line. Alright, I'll try to shorten this. Instead of using your home theater system as a hub, the smartTV becomes the hub. Connect everything to it, Blue Ray, media player, in my case, Dish. Set up your smartTV to wifi and your in. There's a variety of apps on this unit, some I never heard of. Ok the meat. I signed into amazon video and vudu great so far. I ordered the movie ARRIVAL from VUDU in 4K. It was amazing. The cost of renting a 4K movie is a little pricey but worth it. Amazon Prime's original series are engrossing and I love the picture in UHD. This TV upscales everything. We still have to use 2 remotes because the Magic Remote can't handle Dish. However, once it's on I can switch between blue ray, media player and home theater system only needing those remotes for pushing play, eject, etc. Don't be discouraged about the setup, just take your time and read the on screen manual first. I rated this unit 3 stars only because I had to connect my blue Ray using the component ports. One more HDMI port would've been 4 stars.

Took awhile to buy this TV. Did a lot of research and looking around to find a tv that would allow the Xbox One S to let loose its full potential. This tv does the job and more. I love the OS that the tv runs with. Very easy to use and very functional. The picture is amazing but it does take sometime to setup properly when trying to get everything the way you want for picture and sound. Strongly recommend this TV.

I love this TV. Everything looks good on this TV, even in standard definition cable. HD movies and games on my ps4 pro are all insanely clear. I have buddys with other 4k tvs and many of them have screen tearing and lag that will drive you crazy. This one does not have any of those issues. The remote is sort of hard to get used to but is easy to use once you figure it out. Great buy for the price!

This tv is utterly fantastic. I fell in love with it the moment I plugged it in! The clarity, the colors, the wow! It's a little confusing, figuring out the menu options. It was kind of like going from a pager to a smart phone, in the space of a day. But it isn't THAT hard to finally figure out. The picture is just... freaking... awesome...

I was originally in the market for a 4K tv with hdr. I wanted the tv to be under 1k and I found this tv on sale. I have had Samsung tvs and was very pleased with them and was planning on another till I saw this deal and the picture quality blew me away. The PS4 pro comes to life in my living room now. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase and highly recommend this unit.

I needed a new TV for the living room, after trying several Samsung 4K 55" TV's from Sears (I had a gift card) and having multiple out of the box problems, I had the manager put the refund onto a credit card and went to Best Buy. After speaking with the TV specialist and not wanting another Samsung, I moved to the LG 4K 55" and love it, my wife changes the mode based on what we are watching and the color and clarity is incredible. Since it is a Smart TV, there are a lot of menu's to go through and verify. My non-technical wife went through the menu's while I was at work and made some minor tweaks to some strange settings just to see what they would do, and now she loves everything about the TV. We have had this TV since May 15th, and I am still amazed at the vivid color and it's clarity. This is a MUST buy and I HIGHLY recommend it to anybody.
