Pretty good set
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After I got the unit set-up & working, I Decided that there was some glare on the screen, & that I would lile the bigger, Samsung set that we had looked at when we bought the LG' NO Real Problems. Best Buy came through again. I also found that LG has improved the "Glare" problem.

Can't Beat It For The Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this at what I feel was an outstanding price for a 4K 55-inch unit. As it is a new model from LG there were no reviews when I purchased it (Nov 23), but I am familiar with the reputation of LG and the other LG 4K models that were on display looked great. Set-up was a breeze. While there have now been some reviews written around the web, I did notice negative comments about the OS. Those are mostly true and one factor to keep this from a 5 star rating. That said, my Sony Blu-Ray player is what I use to access my VuDU and Amazon Prime anyway so it is a non-issue to me. Factually, as by BD player has the capability I would have preferred a non-Smart TV, but it was not available. The colors are fantastic on my unit. Nice deep blue. Great greens. Black blacks. Outstanding reds. You can also tweak colors a bit to your personal tastes. The sound is not bad for a TV but I never use TV sound. I have a JBL Sound Bar that is connected, sitting at the base of the LG, and as I am sitting and watching Jurassic World right now the colors and sound are exactly what I wanted. As stated the OS and sound keep it from being a 5, but, for me, this is a solid 4-plus. Note: be sure that your HDMI is good for 4K as that can make a difference. I use Blue Rigger for HDMI and my Optical cable.

Great affordable 4k
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this LG less than a week ago after returning a Sony 1080p that was having some video/audio delay. To be honest up until today I was going to return this tv because the picture quality when upscaling my Atlantic Broadband cable was not nearly as clear as on the 1080p Sony I just returned. Everything appeared a bit out of focus and the coloring wasn't right no matter how I adjusted the picture settings. But then I rented Jurassic World on Blu-ray Disc and saw the full beauty of this set. The video quality was insane. The colors were vivid. The blacks were very black. It was exactly what I had expected out of the box. After watching the movie I wondered why the quality of picture was so different between my Blu-ray Disc (played through my Xbox one) and the video feed from my cable provider. I decided to try the hdmi cable from my Xbox with my cable box. Instantly the picture was crisp, the colors were vivid, the blacks were black. I've always subscribed to the thought that all hdmi cables are the same, but in this case it just did not prove true. I'm wondering if higher quality hdmi cables do better with upscaling to 4k- my initial research had indicated that all hdmi cables would work equally well no matter what so I didn't think to look too deeply into this subject matter when making my purchase. If you are having trouble with picture quality and are using a cheap hdmi you may want to invest into a higher quality hdmi cable- at this point I'm just alternating my hdmi cable between my Xbox one and my cable box, but will be looking into what kind of hdmi cable I should buy so I don't have to unplug it every time I switch between inputs. I am so happy I did not return this tv and found a solution to the picture quality issues I was having. I would highly recommend this product if you're looking for a large 4k TV at below 4k price.

Great TV Small price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this model for 2 months now and had zero issue's. The picture is awesome and built in speakers are not to bad but I would recomend atleast a sound bar. This TV has a full web browser and all the built in apps just like it's competitors. Anyone that says this isn't true 4k don't have their TV setup right. I've read reviews saying this TV only has one audio output, not true. This TV has optical out that I don't recommend using for multiple reasons and the TV has HDMI ARC (Audio return channel) whick is a two way audio signal, sends audio to and from the TV using HDMI cable. Anything (sound bar ect) will now automatically be controlled 100% by TV remote. This was my first smart TV and only took 5 minutes to set up. If you're not sure about something, a Google search and the Manual will answer any question you have. My only complaint is this don't have the magic remote but I do have a wireless keyboard and mouse for that. This TV is awesome.

Excellent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv for my parents. Excellent picture, beautiful colours, and user friendly. Setup took a couple of minutes and the best part is that it is wireless. I don't need the Ethernet cable. I also tested some 4K videos and they looked great! Granted not as good as the higher tier tvs but in all actuality, the differences aren't much. I upgraded from a 12 year Sony trinitron 720 p. So this set is amazing! I am watching Netflix as I write this.

Great when it works
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved the TV when the picture actually displays. Problem is, after the first day, picture would go in and out 15 to 20min and would sometimes stay off for 1 to 2hrs. Sound would stay but no picture. So there you have it...owned it a total of 4 days, sound but no picture. It had to go back. Bought a Vizio instead.

It's good, especially at this price point
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tv is very good once you get it adjusted to you liking. I had to spend 4 days fiddling with the video options, but now it looks great. I thought about returning the tv 10 times. Glad I didn't. Just be patient. Hint: turn off most of the video enhancements. The colors are good and the blacks are decent. The 4K actually does look very good when you have the right signal. Netflix and YouTube both offer 4K content. Speaking of which, the WebOs works really well for the limited apps available. Having it pick up the schedules for antenna tv is really nice too. Netflix, Prime and YouTube all work well. Wish it had HBOGo though. Prob still buy a Chromecast for the tv too. This tv is $300-$400 cheaper than the Samsung and Sony equivalents. It's a far better deal and looks just as good.

nice tv but
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice tv , tv has very sharp picture quality, only reason am giving it 4 star is that this tv got some input lag, I own a ps4 and this tv lag a little when I'm playing gta 5 action seems kinda slow, anyway it's a good tv for the price, for those of the people that saying this tv picture quality is low, all you have to do is tweak the settings, you don't expect a great picture quality when the tv settings is from the factory, if you experiencing a motion blur, make sure the trumotion is on and set the super resolution to high and you will see the difference, if the tv is not really Bright for you set the tv back light to 100 and increase the brightness to 80 or 79. Anyway great tv just the input lag that's all, because you don't need that when playing online competitive games.

Good TV for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Great picture quality. Decent amount of picture customization. The webOS for the smart TV functions is good. Being able to cast my screen from my phone or laptop is nice. Cons: Sound is bland. Most TV's are like this though, so I don't ever expect too much. A soundbar would fix this right up. Other Thoughts: This is my 3rd HDTV in the last 10 years. Prior to this has been nothing but Samsung TVs. I like some of the features that Samsung has, but I also like some of the features LG has. I went with LG this time due to the sale price ($699) and the good reviews. I haven't regretted my purchase so far. The quality is definitely what I was wanting out of a newer TV, as well as the newer technology features compared to 5 years ago. I will say though that the picture presets right out of the box are NOT that great and need some tweaking to your liking. Display Note: If you are not fond of the "higher framerate" look, you would do well to adjust the TruMotion feature. You can either turn it OFF (may cause some stutter), or set it to Smooth, or User. I set mine to User and put it all the way down to either 0 or 1. When I was on Netflix I had it at 0 and it looked good. However, when I was on my Satellite Receiver for TV I found that 1 was better. Note to Best Buy: When an appointment is between 2:30p to 4:30p I guess it really means 7:00pm when I am sitting down for dinner. If you are not going to make a delivery on time you would do well to call within the scheduled time frame to let a customer know. Not 10 minutes before you arrive 2.5 hours later. Very poor service on your part.
