    Excellent For the Price

I selected this TV due to the price. Same size/spec Samsung $799 and Sony $999.. I opted for this one because just was looking for a low priced brand name 4K… There were some complaints regarding no button on tv for 49” version. So I was afraid but this does have buttons but it’s underneath the tv not like Sony (behind). Initial impression was great.. It is not bright as Sony or Samsung but the picture quality is great especially watching movies… 4K videos in Youtube.. I just use Youtube app.. and WebOS is superb and no lag.. but you need good net connection… Don’t much really care abt web browsing or other apps.. Pros- Excellent picture Price WebOS superb Cons: Not bright as Sony or Samsung SUHD** Only 3 HDMI inputs Only Digital Audio output (no analog)

I ordered an early Black Friday 50" Sharp, to uprade from a 6 year old 42" Dynex, but it arrived broken. I took it back, and saw this gorgeous 55" 4k smart LG for $699.99. It was the last one, so I grabbed it. I'm glad I did. Set up was a breeze, the picture is phenomenal, the sound is better than the Panasonic soundbar I needed to use for the Dynex, and Netflix loads at light speed. I love it!

I don't know what some of these negative reviews are talking about. This TV is amazing. Granted, I'm coming from a 26" Vizio, but I think this TV is still great by any standards, especially at the sale price. Great color and crisp images. Easy setup. Never had a smart TV before and I'm loving it. And, yes, it IS 120hz. I could easily see this being my TV for the next decade, so my only complaint will be if it doesn't last that long!

    Awesome 4K tv for $699

According to LG, this is a true motion 120Hz tv. I notice a huge difference from my 5 year old LG 1080 HD tv which I replaced with this one. Great ultra 4K tv for $699 Black Friday sale, you can't beat it. Just tweak the settings for the picture you desire and the colors truly pop. Coming from an electronics connoisseur, this tv is all that I wanted and needed, definitely a great upgrade from the regular 1080 HD tvs. The sound is better than other ultra thin LED tvs that I've seen and owned, although I do use an external sound bar for heavier bass. Every electronics device has it own issues, and sometimes people get lemons, but don't judge this line of tv based on a few negative reviews which are few and far between. Experience it for yourself and make your own judgement.

    Netflix not supported?

Overall very pleased with the product, the brightness (like some complained) was way brighter than my previous TV and the picture clarity and quality were fantastic! Fiddled with the adjustments for a half an hour, got it to a point where the colors are natural and the tones are good. The remote is something than less desired, the buttons are in odd spots compared to other TV's. The MAJOR problem is the Netflix app, it was crashing right away, updated and still crashed. I went online to netflix to find out that this model 55UF6450 is NOT on their list of approved LG devices for 4K broadcast! WHY would you put the app on a TV that is not compatible? I'm sure, since this TV is new on the market that it will shortly be added to the list of approved devices but it SUCKS not being able to watch 4K content, considering how limited the market availability of content is! The 4K upscaling is fantastic! I put Avatar in and the picture was just amazing, so deep and the colors were very vibrant, it was amazing. Overall the TV is great, the picture, everything about it awesome! Except the funky remote and the BS with Netflix...

Good service, great deal, but no Flash.

There are models that are bigger, have curved screens and perhaps slightly better picture, more apps so you may not need a Roku or AppleTV, better remotes, etc.. HOWEVER, for this price point, you won't get those. This TV is a great deal. I had to be patient for it to arrive, but hey, delayed gratification is a good thing. I got everything I expected except for one that I hadn't thought of. The web browser on this model is really good BUT, if you are thinking that you can navigate to CBS.com and watch shows there, forget it. Without Flash, you can't watch them and installing it on this TV cannot be done. At least, I have not found a way. Oh well. Either pay for the content or hook up your laptop or buy a TV box. It's still a great deal. I'm satisfied.

    Great tv better smart features

I had a few different questions when buying this tv and couldn't find any answers so I will share them with you. Can you really tell the difference between this and a 1080p? Personally I couldn't but the tv is in an average size living room about 12ft from the viewing area. How is the picture? The picture is great and crystal clear. Very bright and all with stock settings. I have personally always turned off the "clear motion" used to double the refresh rate but on this tv it is very accurate. How is the smart interface? The smart tv features are very smooth and easy to use. I have a new streaming player that I no longer use with this tv because there is no need. Overall I have no regrets in purchasing this product and would recommend it to others. At this point in time the only reason to buy a 4K tv is for the years to come when much more video becomes available in 4K and that was enough for me.

Amazing TV! And mine has 120hz refresh

I purchased this tv this weekend. At BB there was another LG for the same price that was 60hz but 1080p only. This model just arrived that day. Not sure if the other review bought the wrong tv but the box says 120hz refresh and when going directly to lg's site and searching this model, it also states 120hz. Only gave 4 stars due to what appeared as a crack in the screen, after 24 hours this blemish disappeared but I'm nervous it will reappear one day... The picture is amazing. I'm in shock at how it picks up actors blemishes! Wow amazing details are seen and the football game we watched so far was great. Refresh rate was perfect! Right out of the box the picture quality was great! Wish the remote was a bit better designed. Entering network passwords are a pita! For the price this is one fantastic TV!

Read reviews before buying and right out of the box adjusted the colors and brightness to my own preference. Watching football the color are amazing, playing games everything is colorful and crisp. I think what some people don't understand is that some channels/shows aren't broadcast in HD and then of course it won't look like HD on your tv. Had the tv a month now and it was easy to setup and I'd buy it again if I had the chance.

    Best 4k for under $700

First, let me just say that you will not notice a huge difference between this TV and a 1080p model, but only because most content viewed today is 1080p or less. Yes, it up-scales but it's not the same quality as native 4k content. Now, that being said, throw some true 4k content at this TV and watch it shine! It is amazing the clarity and detail of 2160p(4k)! Right now there are limited amounts of UHD content available but that will change very soon. Some of you may just want to wait for more 4k videos before purchasing a 4k TV, that is completely understandable. For this low priced TV, why wait if you are already in the market for a new one? You may read some bad reviews on this model. I think some are based on the misconception that they will see a big difference from their 1080p model. Others may not know that they can adjust the picture settings. For some reason LG doesn't get it right on this model, and by that I mean, they could have set the default picture settings to better levels. I had to turn the LED backlight up and the brightness down. Also, it doesn't come with TruMotion turned on, at least mine didn't. Yes, you may notice some very minor issues with the "120Hz" and motion blurring but it's minimal at best and few and far between. Some may not notice it at all, I just happen to be a little more picky and in tune to it. Even my older 1080p model at 60Hz was not very noticeable and again, just minimal for the majority of the past 7 years I've owned it. No worries here and definitely not a deal breaker for me. As with all or most newer flat panel TVs, the speakers leave some to be desired. Run it through a soundbar or home theater system. The remote is reasonable and pretty easy to use. Setup was not difficult in my opinion. Wi-Fi has been working without any issues or lag. I'm not one to surf the web on my TV so I can't speak for the browser quality. The OS is decent in my opinion. Overall, this is a great TV for the price! I'd recommend it. It's got great features, picture quality, and apps. I mostly use Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Pandora, and stream from my network movie server. If I could ask for anything it would be that LG offer the Sling app as a download option, then I could unplug the Roku and rely strictly on the TV itself.

    LG a good value

We got hit by lightening which snarfed our Sony 46". We replaced it with this 55" LG and are very pleased. It's mounted on the wall above the fireplace and even though it is a little too high up, the view is quite satisfactory. Regular satellite programming is excellent, and we have been viewing whatever Netflix UHD shows I can find and the wow factor is way up there. Acoustics in our family room are ungood and the audibles from the LG are not as good as our old SONY so we are going to get an LG soundbar and subwoofer to compliment this TV. I still give it 5 stars because for the price, it is a superior value.

Best TV out there for the money

I have this TV in the 55 inch as well as the 43 inch sister TV. Both look great. The 4k upscaling does seem to give a modest improvement through the directv picture after using HDMI 2.0 cables. You will not be unhappy with your purchase. No need for the thousands of dollars TV's unless you just want the best of the best. This TV is 85% of those for less than 50% of the money.

This tv is Great! The picture is fantastic, you can't beat this tv for the money. I looked at a lot of tvs before I purchased this one and you have to spend more then double to get a better one then this. I purchased a sound bar to go with it and I am super happy. If you are looking for a great tv for a good price this is it. I would recommend going and viewing it in person to compare it with other tvs in the price range. Walmart has it on display at this time.

    Almost Amazing!

I understand that reviews are always going to be subjective, and that goes for cars as well. You will always find someone who hates Porsche or Ferrari, regardless of how well built they are. With that said, and with all due respect to the negative comments of others, this TV is awesome! The body is thin, sleek, and sexy. And the red stand by light when not in use gives it a "Star Wars" touch. The sound, when using "cinema" or "sports" mode is very good considering how thin the panel is. As for the picture, it is almost amazing (I reserve the right to use fully amazing for a future model)! The picture is crystal clear with vibrant colors and unreal skin tones - hello, it's 4K! If you know what you're doing as far as picture calibration, you will not be disappointed. Don't just take it out of the box and expect it to be spectacular, play withe settings! I walked into BB with my heart set on buying a Samsung, but after seeing this TV at the price of $699.99 (sale), I couldn't resist! And the picture is nearly identical to the naked eye. LG, which is also Korean, is a very reputable brand that is just behind Samsung in global market share. They produce great products and it definitely shows in this TV. I can't possibly imagine someone being unhappy with this TV. Some have discussed the unappealing and "unsmart" remote control, but that is comical. Buy this TV because the picture is amazing, not because of the remote control. I guess the only thing that bothers me is that you can't download TV apps like ESPN or HBO (at least I haven't figured out how). This review is being written by someone who likes very nice things that are not only smart, intuitive, and well built, but sexy, attractive, and down right eye candy. Just trust me, this TV will not disappoint.

Picked up our new LG tv today and so far it's awesome. Easy set up. Sound is way better than we thought it would be based off of other reviews. Probably won't even need a sound bar. Smart tv options are very user friendly. Only reason we didn't give 5 stars is because to truly have the 4K options you have to have direct TV (as of right now) so it's just a basic resolution. You can however see the 4K on Netflix and the picture is like 3D it's so good! Overall very pleased!

    Great TV

We went to best buy to explore anything in this range and liked this one. Nice design, very light weight and slim. We were planning to buy speakers and a woofer but with this TV we don't need them anymore. 4K upscaler works well with all the HD/SD channels on Ruku-Sling TV app or videos on Youtube. Smart feature( navigation between multiple apps, app loading ) is much faster than Samsung. Smart TV feature UI is not that good if we compare it with Samsung or Roku interface but i think we will get used to it. It has limited apps available in its content store and does not come with SLING Tv or Dishword which we use most of the time to watch Asian channels but i use Roku for that so it's not an issue. Nothing i can think of as a deal breaker. All in all happy that we bought this one.

It's very unfortunate that people are not doing their due diligence of THOROUGHLY checking out their issue before trying to give a negative review of this tv. This is hands down one of the biggest steals of this Black Friday season. 4K content looks AMAZING on this system. I wonder if these people giving negative reviews even have 4K DEVICES to see what this tv can do. Also, cables matter! Please get HDMI 2.0 cables for you HDMI 1 input (HDMI 2 AND 3 aren't for 4K devices from what I understand and make sure you have the hardware to see 4K quality. I purchased a 4K HDMI switch from ebay and can use the HDMI 1 input to share multiple 4K devices without issue. For the people claiming "Netfix doesn't support this TV."....THIS TV IS BRAND NEW! IT'S NOT LISTED BECAUSE THEY HAVEN'T ADDED IT YET! Go to your Netflix account and make sure you have ULTRA HD added to your package ($11.99 which was $4 more for me) and THEN you will see ULTRA HD content available. Great TV for the price! Oh and this tv is 120MHZ MOTION...I forget which setting I was under (i'm at work currently) but adjust your studder in the display setting.

Excellent picture and the 4K is unbelievable when viewing a 4K source. This is my first 4k TV. Upscaling is great too. I love everything about this TV, except the fact that the inputs point straight out of the back. I had to mount it further from the wall than I would have liked to. That's the only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars.
