I have read some negative reviews saying this TV is not 120hz and the picture is not good. First I would like to start by saying it is a 120Hz TV @1080p but when any TV goes to 4K the Hz are cut in half which would make this TV 60 Hz. That being said it is a great TV and has a good picture after making a few adjustments to the color. I truly like this TV and think it is selling at a great value for what you get!!!

I'm not that satisfied with the sharpness of the picture nor the speed of sporting events such as golf. I've seen Samsung that have a much better picture.

I purchased this tv during Best Buy's Black Friday sale and couldn't be more satisfied with it. After spending some time adjusting the picture, it looks absolutely phenomenal. Don't be fooled by the cheap price. If you're skeptical, as I was, don't be. Get it while it's still $699.

    Great tv, few minor issues

This is a great tv, especially when you're getting it on sale. It's very light (literally less than half the weight of my 58" panasonic plasma screen that I was replacing). The picture is amazing, it's so clear it almost takes a little getting used to. The only issues I have for it is that it gets a MAJOR glare if windows are nearby. The way my living room is set up, there is a bay window that makes it nearly impossible to see the tv during the day, even with the blinds closed. Second, it loses the wireless connection pretty frequently so you constantly have to re-enter your internet password. This is more of an annoyance than anything, especially when the equipment is right next to the tv (not across the house or anything) and it's a ridiculously long password (thanks internet provider). Other than that, it's a great tv!

    Great TV for the Price

My first 4K TV. Unbelievable price. Upscales regular definition quality to 4K so well, I can't tell the difference between 4K Netflix and 1080p Netflix on this TV. I love the SmartShare app. I can stream a song from my phone using the BubbleUPNP app connected to Tidal and it automatically starts playing the song on the TV. Then when the song is over, it automatically goes back to the cable TV. I don't have to switch inputs. So I can have a soundtrack during commercials.

    Decent--BUT--it is not 120hz--it is 60hz

I reviewed this item--and even saw it at local store, and it looked good. The ad description online, and even the Best Buy rep assisting me with ordering said it was 120hz. Now--getting it home, it appears that it is only 60hz. This bothers me, because it feels I was mislead. The quality is good--but it feels like it is missing a wow factor. I saw the somewhat negative reviews and figured I would change it anyways--based on the dominance of positive reviews. It's a nice TV--and the price was good, but it feels like it could be better, and the 60hz thing certainly rubs me the wrong way. It seems some people say it is 120 and some say it isn't...very odd? It feels like there is a fog in the TV, and there isn't much of an improvement over the several year old 1080p model we had, which was an Insignia. Likely will return this one.

As an audio/video tech nerd, I absolutely love this TV. It didn't sound good at the store, so I bought an LG soundbar to go with it just in case. Set the TV up after mounting it to the wall, (even had audio settings for wall mounting or on a stand!). Needless to say the soundbar got returned because the TV sounds great on its own. After tweaking some of the settings or both video and audio on all 3 HDMI inputs, popped in a blu-ray and was instantly impressed. Looks and sounds great. Very pleased with my purchase.

This is the best TV I've ever purchased. I bought it for my main room . I'll never leave the room now! J/K The blast of crystal clear color is beyond amazing! The LG 55" 4K Ultra Smart does everything and then some. I love the super thin metallic grey edging around the TV. It's so cutting edge, that I purchased an extra 3yr. warranty which covers everything including dents/cracked screen, internal/external. Be sure to register the TV as soon as you get it home. Very important. Enjoy!!

Great tv for a great price. Glad we exchanged the sharp we got for this, after seeing how many sharps had been returned behind the counter. Was only 100 dollars more for a better tv. Got it when it was only 699 also. Very happy with it

Love this LG TV! Never had an LG before and would def buy another. I am impressed with the colors and operational choices from basic operations to as good as this early model will go. 7 years and not one problem! Technology has outpaced this model but who wants to toss a STILL GREAT television? Now if trades are offered maybe….

So I have an existing LG 55" 3D 1080p TV. I just bought the newly released LG V10 cell phone and it's amazing so I decided to stick with LG. As I was walking through the LG OLED section at BB, I ran across the "Open Box" sale items and saw this awesome tv and had to do a double-take!! This Tv was $490 due to the tard losing the TV's stand legs. Not sure how that happens but since I was wall mounting, I didn't need the stands or bolts. So I grabbed it up brought it home and it's working great. Finally watching my GoPro 4k vids in 4k!! Upscaling on 1080 Uverse signal looks a smidge better than normal HD, but the movies is where I see the greatest bennies! Not to mention the 70% off lol!!!! Great tv for the price. Can't wait the OLEDs come down in price a bit more haha!!!

I returned an equivalent Samsung 4K for the LG. This is a good tv for the price. It isn't quite as bright as the ones on display. For $699 it doesn't get any better. The Samsung had a bad white brightness on the bottom half of the screen.

I love this TV, I had a 32" wall mounted and it was definitely time to upgrade. The picture isnt perfect right out of the box, I tweaked the picture with the advanced settings menu and now it looks a lot better. The apps work great, no problem there. TV has a very slim profile so it looks great on the wall. 4k content via YouTube looks amazing! My 1 yr old son enjoys watching wildlife animal footage. There's all kinds of great 4K content on YouTube that will make full use of this TV's potential, I recommend buying it. The only thing I've had trouble with is gaming, I occasionally play Battlefield 1943 on Xbox 360 and my eyes are still getting used to the bigger size of the TV. I've been getting sniped up lately because my eyes have to look at more screen now lol. I bought this TV Monday 11/23 and there were 0 reviews online so I took a chance, so far I am pleased.

For the price, this is an excellent entry level 4K TV. It is not a 120HZ set though. There is some motion blur but it is a lot better than other similar sets for the price.

It makes my old 1080 p TV like a real Old one. Only had for a week the picture so good you see stuff you never seen on a 1080p LCD .. Both my wife and daughter said they may have to rewatch all there shows and movies because you see so much more that you never saw and I have to agree. AAA+++

Impressed with the picture after tweaking settings. Smart TV interface is simple and runs smooth. My PS4 looks great, as does Netflix and Youtube etc..Don't expect 4k quality with every show from your cable feed, cable providers obviously do not broadcast in 4k yet. Has been great so far!

I just got this tv installed today. I was expecting to be disappointed based on some of the reviews I read after ordering this tv. I am very impressed with the quality of this tv, channels like HBO look absolutely amazing (I am a directv customer). I upgraded from a 42" Hitachi plasma I purchased in 2006. Absolutely a great tv with a great price.

I started out with a Westinghouse 55" 4k which had great picture but had major problems with it three days after watching it. So I brought it back and went with the LG 55" 4K over the Vizio. I have nothing but good things to say about it! The picture is AMAZING. I read many reviews on this tv and was concerned about the sound that it would l produce, but once I got home and set it up I found the perfect setting. I find myself having to turn it down. The apps that are available are good! In a perfect world it would have HBO GO but I have other ways of watching that through this tv. Overall I give this tv an A++ and if you're buying right now do it while it's $700

For the money this was a great deal. Picture quality is amazing and rivals sets many hundreds more. To get real 4k video you can't use a roku 3 you will need to use the Netflix app with the tv and upgrade to ultra hd package which is 11 a month instead of 8. The remote is avg at best though.

I was hoping to upgrade from my 5yr old Sony XBR 46" set. My aim was to gain some real estate, get 4K and maybe increased contrast. Well, I was mostly right. It's bigger, did display Netflix 4K (Narcos) nicely, but I was pretty disappointed with the color and contrast output. I spent about 2 days trying to get it to look better than my Sony (on the AVS forums, etc).... no luck, it's going back. For the price it's OK, but for a discerning user, nope. I will be waiting for the OLEDs $$ to come down.
