Magnificent TV and worth every dollar. The bad news it crapped out after three days and again at thirty days. Best Buy gave me another and this one is almost three weeks old and fine.

Love the image and sound. But the documentation is lacking. I had to go to the LG site to figure out how to use the apps and other features.

Best TV I have ever Seen

Jumped on this TV instead of waiting for the 2017 models because I didn't want lose 3D functionality for a small increase in brightness. I am very happy with my decision, this TV is incredible. LG's Passive 3D with a 4K set is amazing - much better than non-OLED TVs. 4K HDR is also the most lifelike viewing experience you will ever have - Prove it to yourself and watch Planet Earth II in 4K, you'll be blown away in the first 5 minutes of the first episode. I never fully appreciated how true black levels can make the picture look so much more realistic until I saw it for myself. OLED's really are the best TV technology around right now.

Best OLED yet, possibly best TV EVER

While OLED still hasn't been perfected (there is still minor banding and "dark edge" issues), the progress LG has made in this TV compared to previous versions will make it hard to care about the issues you might see .9% of the time. This is easily the best picture I've ever seen when playing content from high quality sources like (4k)bluray, game consoles and Netflix, and the significance of the HDR10 and Dolby Vision compatibility can't be understated. Unlike the previous EF9500, this TV no longer suffers from terrible macroblocking in dark scenes, and the only time I've seen it on the E6 was a 5 second period when the 4k stream was losing fidelity. Colors are extremely rich with contrast that still shocks me when I see movies or games on the E6 for the first time. For those that care, the smart features and Web OS 3.0 are second-to-none in the TV world. If you are a plasma lover like myself and need a new TV, OLED is the answer to your prayers. I'm so happy my EF9500 broke so I was able to get a credit and apply it towards this TV. I LOVE IT!

Absolutely blown away by the quality of this TV

I've had this TV for a little over a week and couldn't be happier with it. To start with, the Picture on Glass design is amazing to look at. But you don't shell out this kind of money for that; the picture quality is absolutely unbelievable. The colors are as vivid and lifelike as could be hoped for and, of course, the blacks are black as black can be. I've never been particularly interested in 3D but since this TV included it, I thought I'd play around with it a little. I discovered that I like 3D more in a home theater experience than out at the movies. The couple of movies and games that I tried popped spectacularly, so there was an unexpected bonus. All told, I can't say enough good things about this TV. If you're considering it, I'd definitely say go for it!

1 OF THE BEST TVs MONEY CAN BUY vs SAMSUNG KS9500

    Posted .

I decided to add a television to an additional room in my house and since I watch tv in my bedroom the most, I thought it'd be best to move my current bedroom tv (the also new, SAMSUNG KS9500) to said room and place the new tv in my bedroom. IMMEDIATELY upon turning this LG E6 on you'll notice that the black levels are astonishingly black with basically zero halo light effect around other elements of the screen or near other nonblack parts of the picture like most LED tvs (easily beating my KS9500 and any other tv for that matter). You'll also notice that for an OLED tv, this puppy can get as bright as any of the best LED tvs (matching that of my beloved KS9500). The other difference between this and my beloved KS9500 is there is ZERO motion blur around moving objects on screen (although the KS9500 DOES fair amazingly well in this regard especially for a LED tv). So why the 4 star rating instead of 5 stars? The design, the razor thin display is (in my opinion) a major draw to consumers but also an area that may worry parents. My son is almost 11 years old and the feisty rambunctious stage has long passed him but for those of you with small or young children around BEWARE. Mounting this tv on the wall (which I have yet to do) or anchoring it to the wall if it's on a stand (also which I have yet to do) is a MUST. Without doing either of these, I constantly worry it's only one midnight bathroom break away from coming crashing to the floor. The thin solid glass design is scary beautiful...literally! Best Buy made certain to open it and check it and to make you fully aware that ZERO cracks or screen defects is covered by their in-store warranty or their standard return policy upon exiting the store so take the appropriate precautions. All in all, me being partial to SAMSUNG and considering the GREAT DEGREE of love I hold for my KS9500, the new LG E6 does match and/or best it in multiple ways, and I haven't even started gaming on it yet. ENJOY FOLKS...I know I do!

    Nearly perfect

The contrast of OLEDs is stunning. The only HDR content available to me right now is Marco Polo on Netflix and the colors of the Khan's clothing are beautiful. I would say netflix 4k is fairly comparable in quality to that of a non UHD bluray if the bitrate is high enough. Hope to add more non streaming UHD sources later for a true comparison. WebOS 3.0 is nice and while it doesn't have a proper Plex app it does see the media servers on the network for direct playback. Only complaint is the TV has a lot of post processing effects that sometimes lower image quality (though often seems to improve it). Luckily it seems much of this can be turned off.

Everything about the TV exceeded my expectations the 3D is the best I've seen on a TV.The apps load very fast. The only negative thing I've found is that some external HDMI devices(A/V receiver, game consoles, etc.) take a while to display on screen and the TV will go to the screen saver ,this could be an HDMI handshake issue that will probably be addressed in a future firmware update.Overall i'm very happy with my purchase.

All I can say is wow... This is by far the most amazing TV I have ever seen or owned. The picture is simply amazing, and everything about it is top notch. Its insanely thin, and the attached soundbar puts out very decent sound. Unfortunately, its also amazingly expensive. But...if your an avid TV fan like I am, and you have the extra cash, buy it. Dont even bother looking at other brands or models, you will not find better. This is the one...

I've never seen such pure colors in my life. Due to the cost my wife & I really debated if it was worth the difference. When this T.V. was installed we knew we had made the correct choice. The cable installer was there when the T.V. installation was completed he stood and watched the demo along with us. He was amazed as well as we were. Good choice.

Very good tv but very bad for wall mounting

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The TV itself is great and I highly recommend it except for one thing. Apparently the only wall mount that will work with the LG TV - Model # OLED55E6P is the LG OTW420B. There are universal wall mounts that can be used, but due to the position of where the screws go on this TV (toward the very bottom of the TV) , all universal wall mounts will be visible at the bottom of the TV. Not a very good visual especially after spending over 2500 for this Television. LG does not make a wall mount that has a full motion for this TV. The LG wall mount model I listed above only has tilt capabilities. Very Disappointed! Its too late for me to return this TV so I am stuck with either no full motion or keep the universal with all its exposed parts (so tacky).

Good picture quality until it broke.

The picture is good when the TV works however I'm concerned about the quality of the parts. My screen stopped working after 4 months. LG sent a tech out fairly quickly which is fine however they were not able to fix the TV. Tech support decided the entire TV panel should be replaced. The tech came out a second time and replaced the panel but it still doesn't work. Tech support determined they must have sent out a defective panel so they are sending another one. This would be the third time a tech will be coming out assuming they are able to fix the TV. I feel that expecting a customer to wait for a tech on three separate business days is unacceptable. I called executive services to ask for a replacement TV rather than a third "in-home service" and this was denied. When I explained how inconvenient this experience has been I was told "the customer will need to be inconvenienced." I was also told there is no limit to how many times a tech can try to fix the TV. I am shocked that I am having this experience with a 4,000 dollar TV. If you buy this TV you may have this same horrible experience and may be expected to miss work on multiple occasions. I will not be purchasing any more LG products and hope that after three attempts they can fix my TV. I have been without a TV now for 2 weeks.

OLED - Stopped working after six months

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased my OLED TV in Sept 2016. The TV stopped working in Jan 2017. The TV is unable to recognize the connected cable box nor dvd player. When switching between inputs a black screen is shown. I called on Friday, Jan 20th to obtain assistance/support with getting the TV fixed and the Rep informed me that I will need to call back on Saturday, Jan 21st to speak with Premier support. Therefore, I called back on Saturday, Jan 21st and Tier-1 customer support was unhelpful and provided very little assistance. Also, I spoke with a Manager and she was unhelpful as well. The Manager informed me that I would need to call back on Monday, Jan 23rd again to speak with someone in premier support. I live in Atlanta and I planned an NFL playoff partly. However, I will have to cancel my party as my TV does not work. This is the worst purchase experience I have ever had with this magnitude of customer support. RM

Buyer Beware-Smart Picture Mode not enabled for US

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

LG did not make this known to US Customers. You will not be able to enable "Smart Picture Mode" which adjusts the picture quality based on the media you are accessing. This is a major feature that you will not be able to use. Also, the pointing remote is very difficult to control and extremely cumbersome. The Manual is a total joke and is essentially worthless. Provides no information. LG Customer Support reeks. Good luck finding an English speaking person you can understand. Otherwise, the picture quality is a total 5. Like no other picture you have seen. TSK, TSK, TSK to LG for not making the Smart Picture Mode available to US buyers and not making it known. Sounds like deceptive advertising to me. So, are all these short comings worth the HIGH price? I think not.
