Worse buy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV screen has a permanent green circle right in the middle. Of course the tv is out of warranty and of course it is expensive to repair.

BEST TV DESPITE THE COST
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never regretted buying the TV despite the fact the price is now $1,000.00 cheaper (it would be nice if Best Buy would do something). I own 3 other 4K TV's and reserved this one, the best one, for the master bedroom. I hooked it up to a Sony home theater system which up converts blu rays to near 4K while the TV also up converts the picture as well. Added in a 4K Samsung blu ray player and I have a better theater experience than at the theaters. In fact I will never again see a movie at the theater because I have been spoiled by the quality here. It is worth every penny of the cost. Great easy to use features and easy set up since I was already familiar with this. The salesperson in the store also showed me how to set up and run with this. Absolutely no regrets in spending the money.

Awesome picture quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Researched all the 4K's and almost went with a Sony which looked fabulous until I saw it next to the LG OLED...The quality of the picture is unbelievable. A huge difference is in the depth of the blacks. The other 4K's looked good in that respect until you compare it to OLED, then you see the picture is dramatically better. Even the up-scaled regular HD and Blue-rays look great but when you see the real 4K video the difference in even greater. I have Directv 4K service.. I have it hooked up the the 7.1 LG soundbar which sounds great. If you want to be ready for 4K which is the future of TV you may as well be ready now if you can afford it and enjoy it for what's available right now. You can't go wrong with this LG unit. Mounted it over the fireplace with a MantleMount unit which allows for 28" lowering off the unit to the right watching height.

My favorite tv of all time.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over the past month I have used (maybe abuse ) Best Buy's return policy. The reason was no matter what 4k HDR TV I went with, I always found something wrong. Generally it had something to do with the black levels. I tried the Vizio p series. The black levels were the best out of the ones I returned, but once I viewed HDR 4k content via Netflix. The screen would get dim. Then I tried the Samsung 9000 series. I loved the color and HDR looked great. Yet the black levels showed great in dark scenes. Finally I then tried the Sony 850 and 930 series. Yet again the colors were great but the black levels were poor. I was starting to feel like I would never be happy. I am a long time fan of plasma. From the Panasonic GT/VT series to the holy grail of tvs: the pioneer elite. Now all that changed the day I brought home this tv. I didn't even have to adjust it (I generally get my TV's professionally calibrated) The black levels rival plasma. The colors in hdr content look amazing. I have the xbox one s. Playing Forza horizon 3 the clouds look lifelike. This tv is a must own for any situation. I will never own any type of tv but an oled. Oled is my new plasma.

Incredible tv!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I agonized over a new tv for an extended period (years); I love CRTs and the panel tv's never 'did it for me'. I worried about motion handling, 'color noise', and brightness on the OLED55B6P . . . in the end, I bought one with the understanding I would likely return it and go back to my superb CRT (a Sony super fine pitch - really good!). All that energy was a waste, the OLED55B6P has the best image I've seen, and all of my concerns melted away. Yes, as a hard core cinemaphile I can see the issues that the reviewers have pointed out, but they are so rare they do not distract me at all. I have no reservations and cannot recommend this tv strongly enough. Oh, and the build quality smokes the Sony 930D and Samsung KS8000, and yes, the blacks ARE perfect. Final note: I had to change virtually every setting as soon as I got it home, and wound-up with pretty much the same settings as this reviewer: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/b6/settings

Tv had a software issue
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tv had a software issue. Would turn on for 7 minutes, then go off, then come back on after 15 minutes, then turn on for 7 minutes, then go off for 15, etc. ended up with a 65" Oled. Excellent tv.

Awesome Picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous TV was a 50" Panansonic Viera plasma (purchased around 2008) which still has a great picture. I wanted to re-purpose that TV and got this OLED. I'm very impressed by the black levels as well as the overall sharpness of the picture. I've tested it so far with NCAA March Madness games, old movies from Netflix (like Top Gun) and newer movies streaming on-demand thru my cable provider (like Star Trek). So far, they have all looked great.

Excellent Value Bests TVs 3 Times its Price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am truly content this was a wise purchase; resulting in a picture quality for $2,000 rivaling any LED TV; some of which cost far more. One VERY IMPORTANT TWEAK MUST BE MADE TO REALIZE THE BEST QUALITY WITH MOTION: Enable TruMotion, +10 De-Blur and +2 De-Judder for silky smooth; yet still keeping with Cinema frame cadence! Best of both worlds! I nearly returned this unit for the $1,500 more costly Sony until I found an expert calibrator's recommendations as mentioned above. To be precise, +10 De-Blur and 0 De-Judder were used in his review; but he did say the picture conformed to video cadence standards. My +2 De-Judder I find even more pleasing; resulting in a perfect moving image with traditional cadence. Please do NOT return this TV for judder/blur issues until you use my recommended settings. While I could have truly afforded any 55" Television, I also don't want to foolishly part with hard earned money! The only advantage a more expensive unit would have is the speakers. But most people; myself included, have better stereo components and external speakers to run the TV's outputs through anyway; saving up to thousands with best picture quality! Also worth mentioning, LG produces an excellent wall mount with tilt and extension that's less than an inch deep for $99. And no, I was no paid for this review and I do not work for LG. In fact, I have traditionally owned Sony televisions, but LG was first to the party with OLED, and Sony even uses LG panels for their much more costly OLED.

Love it! Continue to be amazed when I turn it on.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for the picture quality and never fail to be amazed each and every time I turn it on. I can't imagine going back to a standard LCD display with backlighting. Blacks are blacks and colors are vibrant and amazing. I've spent time tuning the TV using one of the AV discs available and it helps. Make sure you turn off all the extra motion stuff and dynamic contract, etc. to get the best tuned photo. Bottom line however is whatever you are happy looking at. I know I made the right choice because despite having it for almost a month I continue to drop my jaw each and every time I turn it on. I'm never disappointed. Finally, I had no intention of using the built in software on the TV but it is so good I can't ignore it. It was a bonus for me as I didn't intend to pay any attention to it. Plus, as a bonus, I get the 4K (which none of my other equipment supports right now) via the built-in Netflix, VUDU and Youtube apps. Those apps work great and look fantastic when 4K content is displayed. Make sure to check real realorfake4k web site if looking at UHD 4K content to purchase. A lot of stuff isn't really 4K and is upscaled. I expected better from the movie studios but apparently it will be a while before everything is a true 4K. If you are on the fence you won't be disappointed. Biggest downside is the cost and I had anticipated waiting for further decreases but my old TV died and this purchase just made sense. Hopefully it will last.

Best TV on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would consider myself an expert in electronics, that being said I decided after many years on my faithful Samsung LED (the model I will not share as its so old it's now embarassing) that I would upgrade. Not some little incremental pop up from LED to another. No, I bought my old TV when LED first made its debut so I would now make the upgrade to the new medium as it made its entry onto the stage. At first I must admit I was lured into buying the samsung un55ks9000, got it home unboxed it set it up and spent the next few days putting it through the rigors. Xbox 1, broadcasting an amazing PC (my system beasts the requirements for my occulus rift if that tells you anything), watching bluray, and of course watching a few true native UHD programs and films though their aren't that many available. The Samsung did well except for 2 areas, the upscaling was OK except on many things it tried too hard and made the picture cartoon like. This may have been alleviated somewhat through professional calibration but that shouldn't have been necessary with a tv at this price point. The 2nd complaint was the black levels......Samsung has taken a big step down in quality when it comes to this in its newer models. I'm not sure if it's the difference in backlit LED compared to edge lit or as I suspect they are getting less reputable subcontractors for their various components. Either way whenever you are either transitioning from a bright scene to a dark or simply have a dark or total black screen on the tv it's almost painful to watch. Sure if I'd paid Vizio level prices I wouldn't really notice or have much to complain about but I didnt.....therefore when I'm seeing a smoky grey across my screen every time I should see a total black it annoyed me tremendously making the tv almost unbearable. I paid for the best why didn't I have it!!!??? So I did even more research and saw LG had taken the lead with the newest picture medium "OLED" hmmmm I thought I'd had an LG many years ago when LCD was king but it wasn't that great ( a big reason I'd made a switch to samsung and remained since) however after many reviews stating the new "LG B6 was amazing" "best picture ever tested" blah blah. I decided alright I will pay the extra 500-700 whatever it costs to have the best for the next 4 years. I went to best buy the same store I'd purchased my samsung un55ks9000 at a week before and said "this was supposed to be the best TV on the market why is that one better?" I pointed to the LG B6 and the young salesman seemed to look around panic stricken as if I'd said a huge secret. Here was a huge massive area in the tv section showcasing samsung this and samsung that at least a dozen different sets all running full power showing the full ability of the tech giant. And yet LG only had 2 sets for its brand a 55" b6 and a 65" though the tech is far more advanced....curious I thought. But after snapping my fingers and bringing the young salesman back to reality from his fear coma I told him that I wanted to get the b6 but I stated very very clearly that I wanted his assurance (though at that point it meant nothing to me after the samsung incident as he sold me the un55ks9000) that I was getting the best set on the market. He said I was and that I would have the best for my time frame of 4 years. Fast forward, I'm home and unbox the tv. It's a breeze to put together the stand is one piece and is a simple lock in and tighten style unlike the ridiculous albeit cool looking stand on the samsung. I also notice there is no "one box" which I thought was cheesy for the samsung to have anyway. I set it up in my bedroom hooked up my sound system, ran the software/firmware setup and started to proceed to spend the next half day watching various types of content and playing video games on the LG all in an attempt to find a flaw....or something to complain about.....alas I could find nothing significant enough to say anything about in terms of detrimental performance. Save for 2 minor minor things, 1. The picture settings for "HDR" may need to be tweaked a bit to avoid the overupscale effect on a few programs or movies but overall it does well though I don't use that setting much personally. And 2. This is totally irrelevant to performance but the back of the television is made from some solid matte grey plastic that is reminiscent of an old super Nintendo more than it is of an ultra premium television set. Those two things aside......this is the best TV out there by far. I could share more specs and more raving about it but I've probably taken enough of your time. Just take it from me, the guy who is fanatical about having the best (not always the most expensive) but the BEST in everything he buys (unintended pun there) just man up and spend the initial higher amount upfront and make the jump to OLED. You won't be sorry....thanks--------The dude.....

WOW
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My last TV was 1080p Panasonic plasma which was (at the time I purchased) the best display available for my home theater. Great picture/colors/black levels/shadow detail in a dark room. This OLED is better than the plasma in all aspects. My wife was originally asking why I needed a new TV, but after watching 'KungFu Panda 3' last night she said "Great TV!'. If you knew the wife you would understand how big an endorsement this was. My only complaint was with the BB 'free delivery'. The soonest delivery times available were 3 weeks out. Really!! BB really needs to fix this. Who wants to wait 3 weeks for a new TV ?! My only complaint with the TV were the setup instructions. Since I didn't want to wait for delivery, I picked up my self. LG does not include a 'quick setup guide' for this TV- like every other manufacturer does with their components- and the little picture guide showing how to attach the base was for curved model, not this flat screen. Also the manual, remote and screws for attaching the base were buried in the bottom of the box. I honestly thought they had forgotten to include them until I removed the last piece of styrofoam from the bottom of the box. Pretty poor packaging and instructions for a high priced component. LG should take a look at how OPPO and Emotiva pack their components and include complete setup guides to see how to do it right. First impressions do last. I probably should have given only 3 or 4 star rating because of the problems with delivery and packaging/instructions, but the picture is just sooo darned good I had to give it five stars.

Warming up fast to this TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We originally went with the 65" Sony 850D. I liked it but the blacks and dark scenes just were not cutting it. We were seeing some strange and noticeable screen changes where darks were shifting. We decided to bite the bullet and go OLED. After a few tweaks, this TV looks fantastic. In a dark show like Taboo, this TV can handle all the various dark shades. And when fire or a candle or something like that is added, it's beautiful. I am looking forward to how it performs during football season, but so far, things like Walking Dead, Goliath and Sneaky Pete looks great. And the Blu Ray of Mad Max was spectacular. It looks like the price has gone UP on this TV, so it's a hard call on whether it's worth it.

Simply the Best TV Ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned this television for a few months now and am more than satisfied with its performance and functionality. After a short learning curve an owner should have no trouble using all the picture controls and accessing all the available apps. The remote takes a little practice, but once you get the hang of it you may find you prefer it to other remotes. Cnet says this set and its LG stablemates display the best picture in television history. I agree. Watch the 4 K demo videos on YouTube, and I think you will too. This is LG's basic OLED set, but the only thing that separates it from models higher up the line is lack of a built-in sound bar and no 3D capability. Well you should be running the audio through a home theater sound system anyway, and I'm blind in one eye so I can't see 3D. Who watches 3D anyhow!?

OLED ROCKS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Holy guacamole the picture is unbelievable. Yes - the TV has Dolby Vision. The Dolby Vision lettering shows up at the top right hand corner of the TV screen for an instant letting you know you are watching in Dolby Vision. You will be asked to download all the firmware upgrades when you power on the TV for the first time. You will need to update all of the APPS (Youtube, Netflix, Amazon). This is the most awesome TV I have ever seen (B6 model). When I saw the LG 9500 series from 2015 and knew 2016 would have all of the bells and whistles (HDR-10 & Dolby Vision), it was a "no-brainer." This TV does not have 3D but I do not care to wear goggles or glasses etc. to watch a movie. I am now at 2 weeks of TV heaven which is just in time for Father's Day and the NFL season and I am loving it. The only con I have noticed is the TV is bit wobbly when I move the TV stand. There is a bit of halo effect and I still have to tinker with the judder adjustment. BestBuy dropped the price on this TV ($999.99) a few days after I bought it. I called on Day 9 of the 14 day period to ask for a "Price Match." My credit card was credited within 24 hours of the Price Match request ($1,079 including taxes). Sweetness. If you are sitting on the fence post about this TV - just buy it. I have ZERO regrets buying this TV at $2,999.99

EXCELLENT JUST STRAIGHT EXCELLENT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one the best 4K TVs currently available. Everything looks amazing. Everyone i have show it to agrees it is the best looking TV screen they have seen. It cost me an extra $600 to get this over a LCD model but the blacks are worth it. If you are on the fence buy this TV. My 1 complaint is that there is a slight motion blur on vector animations (ie Archer). It is noticiable but not a dealbreaker. This was only on upscaled content i could not find any 4K vector animation to compare to.

Awesome TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do not write many reviews however this warrants one. I started looking at OLED TV's about 3 years ago before they were even available in 4k format not to mention HDR. We had the LG 55UB8500 4k prior to purchasing this OLED and never had a complaint on that TV. Quite frankly, this OLED has blown away our last TV in the image quality, depth, color, brilliance and dynamic range from pure black to bright white. I've studied this technology for quite some time and found that this has been well worth my time and money spent. If you want one of the best TV's out there, don't hesitate. I can't wait till more HDR and 4K programming is available.

Unreal! Highest rated for a reason!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally purchased a very nice Sony, but I really wanted the (LG) OLED. I I finally convinced myself to go purchase this OLED, I am so glad that I did! I have never seen anything like it, I find myself watching things that I don't even like just to sit in amazement at how incredible the picture is. My only regret is that I didn't get the 65 inch model, but it wouldn't have fit in the room that I was putting it in. For anyone on the fence, I highly recommend that you just go for it and you will be glad you did.

Hands down best 4k Tv! Ps4 pro looks amazing wow!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worth the money, blows my ju6400 Samsung out of the water. The HDR makes all the difference, combined with the oled screen it's the best natural picture on the market. I Needed the HDR to take full advantage of ps4 pro, my other 4k 55 TV just didn't wow me at all. Now my jaw drops everytime i play games with phenomenal response time and action so clear it's unreal. On top of it all the stock speakers are the best I've ever heard on any HDTV in he last 10 years. I finally found the 4k tv I've been looking for. Amazing job LG!
