I love the TV. We’ve always had Samsung TV’s so it’s taking a little time to get used to the differences. I also would love the color be the same as it is when you are looking at it in the store. Always seems when you get it home , even if you change the settings, still looks a little duller than the sharp color contrasts in the store.

[Employee of bestbuy] Purchased a C5 55” for my bedroom and was a perfect fit for my space. It is super bright around 1,200 nitts and I find myself changing the picture setting to cinema to slighty lower the brightness when watching at night. That would be the only concern I have with this TV and everything else is pristine. I like what LG did with the remote this year as well, simple button layout, light weight, and you can also use your phone as the remote as well.

Be Wary of Being Sold Open Box/Returned Goods

Bought two 55" TVs from Best Buy Jacksonville (The Avenues) for pickup, expecting brand-new units. Opened them at home to set up—both were clearly open box/returned items that were dirty, dusty, scratched and missing packaging protection. That’s not what was purchased, and not what was advertised. Tried to resolve it multiple times. Every interaction led nowhere—just getting passed from one agent to another with zero accountability. The only “solution” offered? Haul both TVs back to the store. No acknowledgment of the issue, no effort to make it right. No call back despite being assured it will happen. Not asking for anything unreasonable—just honor the open-box pricing for what was actually sold. Instead, it’s been ignored. Between the lack of transparency and the runaround, this feels like deliberate misleading sales practices counting on the customer giving up. Customer service has been completely unhelpful. This will be my last Best Buy purchase.

Black screen of death in a few days!

Two lines appeared on my tv screen while I was watching a movie. I then smelt something burning and quickly turned off the tv. After a minute, I attempted to turn on the tv and it was completely blank. The panel had burn marks, so I’m assuming this was a burn in problem. Which is crazy because I only had the tv for 8 days. I’m so disappointed about this but luckily I was able to return it. Beautiful while it lasted. Buyers beware!

Hi, Elijah. Thank you for sharing your experience with your LG TV (OLED55C5PUA) model. We understand how important it is to have your unit deliver reliable performance right from the start. The issue you described—lines on the screen, burning smell, and panel damage—is not typical of OLED burn‑in, which usually appears gradually as image retention. What you experienced sounds more like an electrical or panel fault.

For future OLED use, one helpful step is to enable OLED Panel Care features such as Pixel Refresher and Screen Shift under Settings > Picture > OLED Panel Care. These tools are designed to maintain panel health and prevent image retention. You can find more guidance here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-OLED55C5PUA.AUS. If you need further assistance, please send us an email at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com so we can support you directly. ^Juvy LG

The Best TV I've Ever Owned

I couldn't be happier with this TV. Mounting it on the wall was straightforward, although I definitely recommend having a second person help because of its size. Once it's up, the ultra-slim design looks incredible and gives the room a clean, modern feel. The picture quality is simply out of this world. The colors are vibrant, the blacks are truly black, and everything looks incredibly sharp whether I'm watching movies, sports, or playing games. I also love all of the built-in features. Streaming apps are easy to access, the menus are intuitive, and the Magic Remote is one of my favorite parts. It's user-friendly, responsive, and makes it fun to customize the TV exactly how I want it. If you're looking for a premium OLED with amazing picture quality, a sleek design, and plenty of smart features, I highly recommend the LG C5.

This is my second LG OLED. We have a larger one running the Xbox. This TV is for the living room and is replacing a Samsung QLED that delaminated. I think you need to go to Best Buy and look at each TV. I love this picture but my wife liked the Samsung more. I find the picture crisp and great for general TV watching including sports. The interface and main home screen is easy to use and I found it easy to add and subtract apps like Netflix and Apple TV and Prime. LG TV is actually kind of nice if you are looking for a free TV viewing option. I use a soundbar but the speakers for TV aren't bad. Not great but not bad. I have a single complaint. The remote has an arrow that comes up and you are supposed to use it to point at things. I hate the thing and wish I could turn it off for EVER! But you can't turn it off forever you have to hit the down key and it goes away. But it sucks and they should allow me to make it go bye-bye!

    LG 55" C5 Oled TV

My first Oled purchase replacing a Hisesnse U8H that had backlight problems. This TV is very light in weight and was very simple to set up. I have it connected to a Bose Ultra Smart soundbar, an Apple TV 4k and a PS5 and I use Directv for streaming. All work fine with no problems. The stock speakers in the tv are less than great and you definately need a soundbar. Tried out the built-in WebOS system and it was easy to navigate. It will allow you to stream a huge amount of content including local channels. I see others bashing the provided magic remote and don't know why. I do use the Apple 4k remote 90% of the time, but you still need the magic remote for things like setup and picture modes and ajustments. Spend some time on Youtube for using the remote and you'll have it down in no time. The out of the box picture modes are ok, but definately need some tweaks and calibration adjustments to go from just ok to WOW, Again Youtube can assist with these. Got this from BB on sale for $1299. This tv is WOLED technology not quantum dot, but comapred to the cost of the LG Gallery series or the Samsung quantum dots at $1000 or more, it more than holds its own in color, brightness and clarity with the right settings. Super happy I went with it.

This is one of the best TVs I have ever owned. I'm So very happy I made the decision to purchase. My shows, movies and, most importantly, my gaming is elevated in so many ways! I cannot believe this b and its capability. At current I am post surgery and sitting here listening to and watching the stingray app is relaxing and beautiful! It looks like I'm staring out of my Window! (See attached pic) The sound on its own is theater quality and the webOS is fast, clear and user friendly. I might be ditching my firestick I've had for 10+ years. If you are looking for an OLED this is it!!!

Researched this for some time and and I am so glad I finally picked this up. I wanted to get the 65 inch but was stopped by a 63 inch wife who informed me that a 55 inch tv is plenty big enough. That being said, the picture quality is superb and with just a few tweaks the C5 is awesome. Paired with my HD dvd player, it brings old movies to life in a way I never expected. If you have any doubts about the picture quality of this model…don’t. It’s a great TV….interface for controls is a little quirky, but other than that, I couldn’t be anymore pleased.

Glad we finally entered the OLED world. This is a fantastic TV. I have a high quality, small LCD TV beside this LG (I’m a sports fanatic and often watch 2-3 games at a time), and the difference in picture quality from this LG OLED to the LCD is more than I expected. We have a semi bright TV room and this TV is definitely bright enough to overcome the daytime light. The AI upscaling on our satellite TV provider content is fantastic also. Fires look so much better now. We are very pleased with this purchase.

I have many TVs in my house. All of them 55 inches. All but this purchase were Sony products. Over the past five years I’ve solely bought open boxed tv’s. Saving thousands of dollars. I was looking for a TV to put in my bedroom. I don’t have cable TV, but I do have Wi-Fi. I’m mainly streaming shows on Pluto or Tubi for free. The sales people were extremely knowledgeable and helpful with the purchase of this TV. I took a chance by stepping away from Sony and decided the LG solely because of the recommendation from the sales people. They made an incredible recommendation, and I am glad I took their advice. By far, this is my best TV in the house. I bought it for less than $900 as an open box. I think the retail was somewhere around $1700 and maybe more. The picture quality is a world of a difference compared to even my Sony TVs. Little did I know that buying an LG TV also came with the LG channels for free. I think it’s incredible that this TV is located about 30 feet away from the Wi-Fi device and there are many walls between. Still this TV is able to upscale and give me the full experience. I like the way that the remote works with the TV and I can go from using the buttons to using the cursor by waving the remote. It’s going to be very difficult for me to ever return back to Sony. I haven’t tried playing my PS4 or other consoles, but I’m definitely looking forward to it. You can change the settings on the TV to go from AI enhanced mode which increases the overall picture quality or you can opt out of that mode and just have it standard and it’s still upscales compared to my Sony Bravia models. What I love most about this TV is the eye safety protection mode. I don’t get headaches or eye fatigue when I have it on that setting.

Noticeable upgrade from our 2018-era LG OLED TV. Picture is brighter, colors are better, image seems sharper overall. Not a huge fan of the remote control; it seems like LG was trying too hard to be 'clever;' using the remote for cursor control on the screen is just a hassle. And why no separate mute button? Setup is a bit complicated as well; I had to do an internet search to find instructions on how to change the displayed names of the different inputs (e.g., change 'HDMI 1' to 'AppleTV') - doesn't seem like something that basic should be so hard. My other gripe is that it's very 'pushy' about the various LG services and features, when what I really want is for my TV to be...a TV. We are AppleTV users, and honestly feel the 'smart tv' features add cost without adding value. We're using it with a sound bar (Sonos Arc) so I can't comment on the built-in speakers. The Arc has worked seamlessly with the TV over an HDMI eARC connection. At the end of the day, though, it's about the picture quality, and the C5 delivers, so 5 stars it is, despite the overcomplicated setup and pushy 'smart' features you'd probably rather do without.
