However the Point of Sale procedure did not turn out well. We were convinced to open a Best Buy credit card to take advantage of the points on the purchase and 0% interest which I put the money in a CD to earn some interest on the purchase. However the card processing reported to my credit report that the Best Buy card was over the limit, meaning they somehow charged the card for the purchase price of the TV for more than the card was opened for and this dropped my credit score and affected the interest rate of a car purchase. I paid off the card, but still have to jump through hoops to get my credit back up. So basically it’s not worth the points and I won’t be using the Best Buy card again.
