    Consider me an OLED convert

Before this, I had a 10 year old Sharp lcd tv with bezeling as wide as my face. That TV served me well through college and beyond, so I don’t mean to trash talk it, but holy god it was ugly and it was simply long past time for an upgrade. Being someone who enjoys streaming shows, watching movies, and playing video games, I did my research on what TV would provide an optimal experience for all of those and decided to treat myself with this LG OLED CX 55”. The in-depth RTINGS review is what sold me on this model. I’d also gotten super lucky a week before and snagged a PS5, so I just went for it. Y’all. Y’ALL. This screen is just gorgeous. Everything is buttery smooth (4K at 120hz gaming), HDR makes a highly noticeable and positive impact on the gaming experience, and shows and movies are beautiful to behold. The sound is very decent too, but I will probably round out my set up with some speakers in the future...but I’m not in any rush to do that soon because this TV is eva-ree-thing.

Best TV I have ever bought. I am a true believer of OLED. It will be almost impossible to get me to buy a different tv. With near perfect blacks and bright, vibrant HDR color. I’m hooked and extremely satisfied. If you can find one, just pull the trigger. You will not be disappointed

As far as an AV enthusiast I consider this purchase to have been a no-brainer. Picture: LG Display broke the picture mold when they unleashed their OLED panels. Typical displays use edge-lit LED or zone-lit LED, the problem that arises from this is a phenomenon known as backlight bleed. If you have ever looked at your TV and seen black scenes looking gray, that is what it is. OLED is able to provide perfect black thanks to light emitting OLED at the pixel level. Sound: This is the only part of the television that may have dinged the review, but as is common with all televisions in today's market, the speakers tend to be tinny. That being said, they aren't the worst out there by any stretch. Smart Apps: I was pleasantly surprised to find LG has included many free streaming channels, from ones dedicated to old Adams Family episodes to subbed Anime. Along with this is the typical Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, etc.

This was a gift for my husband and he is a researcher, so the product was thoroughly vetted! He absolutely loves the clarity of the picture, colors and spending lots of time getting the programming just right. So far, easy to use and he is a happy camper!

I have always been a Samsung fan and would only purchase Samsung products. I was about to purchase the Samsung 8K tv when my buddy started telling me about the LG OLED. I started to research the OLED and would walk into Best Buy on multiple occasions to compare the picture of all the televisions on display. After months of hanging out at Best Buy I received notification that the OLED was on sale so I decided to make the purchase. I have owned the OLED since October of 2020 and it exceeded my expectations. The picture is amazing, the setup is easy and when it comes to gaming it is the best tv in my opinion for the Xbox Series X and the PS5. This is the best TV I have ever owned with the best picture period. I watch lots of movies and I feel like I am at a theatre when I am watching movies on my 4K player with my TV set to cinema. Definitely a great tv with probably the best picture at this moment.

I been very happy with this TV, I been on the fence about going to this panel tech as I was always worried about screen burn in. After a few month of hard use have to say it was like the day I got it. The image is fantastic I don't think I can ever go back. The color and blacks are out of this world. I use it for streaming, console and a computer screen. No issues thus far. Odd things to note its very thin on top it basically a pane of glass. The VESA mount is really far down on this so you may need to move the mount down. I think this was the biggest con. The stand hardware is great and looks nice. Very fast OS. I was not used to the Wii style remote but now I wonder how I lived with out it. I am not a fan of the "bloatware" installed but you can remove most of it. The remote can be programed to control a lot of devices and works great just don't lose it. On PC g sync worked just fine first try.

    Great Picture, Lousy Remote

We've had this TV for just over a month and are still very pleased with the picture quality every time we turn it on. Pricey but quite a difference from the 13-year-old 47" Philips it replaced. Internal speakers are about as good as can be expected from a unit as thin as it is so we used the optical port to connect it to our Onkyo home theater system. We have it hooked up to cable so we really can't comment on the Smart features. However, the remote is an unhappy little lump which we use only for accessing settings and use our Cox cable remote for everything else. The "laser" feature on the remote is clumsy, the feel of the sound and channel change buttons is awkward, and it just feels weird in the hand. Other than that and some possible future concerns about OLED burn-in, we have no hesitation in recommending this model to anyone looking for a great TV experience.

This is an excellent tv. Bought this tv especially for my PS5. I have done some research before getting this tv. It has everything you need to next gen gaming uses. If you worry about burning just buy protection plan alone with it that will be covered. So far there are no issues while gaming. The sound is pretty good without sound bar. The only down side is that OLED always pricier than LED since it’s new technology, but you will be thank yourself for getting it!

Amazing tv picture !!! Night and day difference between my Roku sharp tv and my new OLED CX. The only reason this tv doesn’t get 5 stars is that there are no instructions for setting up the stand and the volume on the remote doesn’t work when you hook your tv up to an external device . Oh and the tv is impossible to pick up and carry by yourself , this thing is HEAVY but also thinner than my iPhone . Overall no regrets I just wish it was a little more user friendly with how much I spent

This tv provides the best picture I’ve seen from a tv. It is a user friendly tv that comes ready to watch out of the box. Perfect for gaming or movie watching. With geek squad protection you can be covered in case of the burn in fears you have with oled TVs.

Great OLED tv. 55" works well with my smaller living room (seated about 8' from TV). I wanted to take advantage of the newer Dolby Vision/Atmos, HDR and refresh rates on streaming content and the upcoming Xbox Series X. This fits the bill. Go get yours.

Great OLED TV. Picture is awesome. The only issue I would stay it has but may not be the TV ISSUE is that when I’m using NETFLIX and/ or Apple TV the audio sounds muffled. I tried changing tv audio settings and Netflix /Apple TV audio settings with no success. Some settings were better than others but audio sounds great when I’m looking at YOUTUBE or DIRECTV in my bedroom. No sound is needed in those cases. I got used to it so not a problem for me. What I do wish is that LG puts lights on their remote control so I can see the buttons at night. Remote control automatically becomes your directv control and tv. So no need to have multiple remotes. Airplay tv works but sometimes tend to disconnect and can’t find it. So I would have to turn off the tv and turn it back on for it to find it on your phone. Overall love the TV.

Best tv I have ever seen or owned. Expensive but top of the line could not ask for anything more. Perfect for ps5 gaming! Only downside is putting the stand on was a bit tricky as the tv is so thin. Did not want to break it.

I bought this TV for my PC first and foremost, mainly because of the promised HDMI 2.1 support for 4K 120hz gaming with HDR and gsync. Unfortunately, when I was able to buy an RTX 3080, I was met with nothing but issues on this TV, especially when enabling gsync for 4K 120hz. Today, the TV got an update which fixes the frame rate stutter when using 4K 120hz and gsync. Now that it has been fixed, I can say without reservation that this is THE best gaming display on the market, full stop. OLED + 4K + 120hz + HDR + VRR is unbelievable!!! If you watch movies and/or play games, the LG CX OLED is an end-game display that will satisfy 99% of consumers. It does everything, and it does it extremely well. PC monitor, console gaming, movie watching, etc... it does it all nearly flawlessly. If you can afford it, buy it.

The television and picture are extraordinary. In fact the picture makes up for a couple of concerns since we bought this LG OLED 55" Class SX a month ago. When we began to install and configure the software our magic remote control stopped responding. We called LG customer service and they indicated that they would ship the remote out in some 7-10 business days - even though we had just bought the TV. Note that there are ways you can take your phone and turn that into a remote so there are ways around it. We got our new remote in 5 days. Due to concerns it would take longer we ordered one on Amazon and got it in two days. As it turns out, the brand new batteries with the first remote were almost powerless. Yes, that's right. We believe the first remote failed due to the batteries. LG comes equipped with their own network of stations. The content is a mix of interesting, older and some other nonpremium programs. I'd watch it but you often have to sit through MINUTES of commercials before the program you want to watch comes on. The resolution of the commercials is so poor you'd want your 25" Zenith console back. It isn't our wifi. We can stream other services like Amazon and they're razor sharp. If anyone has information on how to resolve this issue I'd appreciate it. The sounds is very, very good and we'd choose the TV again. We don't have a soundbar. LG makes a pitch to discount the soundbar if you buy both TV and soundbar at the same time. We declined. The sound is superior to the Samsung TV we had in our living room for the last 10+ years.

We replaced our 55 inch curved 4K LED TV with this 55 inch 4K OLED. The prior TV's 4K was impressive for having a sharp picture. Having this new OLED TV for about two months now, I can say the following about the picture: stunning for color gamut and contrast to dark and absolute black (no light). I did not change the factory settings for the picture. Every time I first look at or turn on this TV, I immediately notice both the color and contrast ( I'm used to the image sharpness of 4K). This OLED TV has a distinct (noticeable) and significantly better color gamut and contrast than my prior TV. Highly recommended, and worth the price.

I spent about month researching many brands and technologies for this upcoming purchase (OLED, QLED, 8k, etc.). After speaking with many salesman, watching tons of youtube videos, and reading tons of reviews, I settled on the LG OLED 55" CX Series. Since Geeksquad came out and installed and setup the TV, we have been nothing short of amazed. The OLED tech blows my mind (we upgraded from a 2016 LG LED model). The contrasts are crazy and it can produce one heck of a theater experience when paired with a soundbar or surround system. I havent got to watch live sports with it yet, but everything else we've watched has been 100% satisfactory.
