I do not usually over indulge when it comes to TVs but when I saw the price in November and the new technology that LG was dishing out I was excited! The TV looks amazing with Netflix shows and movies that were filmed in 4K. Mixed with the new PS5 console gaming looks amazing with the HDR with 4K. The OS is nice and there is plenty of apps to purchase. I use the PS5 most of the time for all my streaming but I like how the TV senses that the PS5 is in and automatically turns to that input. Overall so far a great TV. I did purchase insurance with it being over that 1500 (after tax and what not) cap I always promised myself if I ever got a pricey TV. Can’t wait to use it with gaming and when shows from multiple streaming services come out with 4K picks.

Awesome TV as a Computer Monitor

1st off, Thanks to the Best Buy delivery guys who delivered with care. They were on time and kept me updated on their expected arrival time. Awesomeness! Now to review the TV. I am very pleased with the TV and I am using it as a computer monitor. I had a 10 year old 40" 1080P Samsung tv as a monitor that bit the dust almost a year ago. It had excellent off-axis viewing but most of the new LCD/LED TV's have worse off axis viewing than my 10 year old tv. Since OLED has excellent off-axis viewing and great response times it would make for an excellent computer monitor but it is Pricey. I have been waiting for LG to come out with a smaller OLED and they finally did, however it was still too large, at 48", for a desktop monitor and it was only $100 less than the 55". I ended up purchasing the 55" because it was on sale for $100 less than the 48"! :-O The 55" will be preferable if I decide to get a 43" oled or equivalent down the road. LG, please consider a 43” for desktop monitors since that is actually the sweet spot in my book. With a 40-43” one can look at the monitor and easily see the top while working at the desk but with 55” you have to tilt your head upward. So, I decided to keep all my daily programs in window mode so I don’t have to tilt my head up but I play games and watch videos in full screen mode and sit back and that is Glorious! I love the responsiveness when gaming and its ability to work with AMD freesync or Nvidia g-sync. I have an HP Z420 Xeon workstation with an AMD r9 380 video card. I am waiting for the frenzy surrounding the recent Nvidia and AMD video card releases to finally decide which to upgrade to based on reviews, and finally pricing. Since these new cards sold out withing seconds of release, this may be a long wait to finally get a new video card. That said, I DO notice quite a bit of a difference with the smoothness of games when Freesync is enabled. You WILL need to buy an 8K HDMI cable to be able to set your video card to higher resolutions and refresh rates. The video card will not give you higher resolution and refresh rate options with older HDMI cables since it doesn’t think the monitor is capable of those settings. This is due to the cable. Once I got the new cable, I could set the higher resolutions and refresh rates. To be able to see more on the screen with everything other than games, you need to set the resolution to the 4K native. Then you need to (at least with AMD video cards) go into windows display settings to set the resolution and then change the size of text, apps, and other items. I have mine set to 150%. For games you may want to run them in lower resolutions if you have an older video card like I have. You will pay a Huge performance penalty if you set the game resolution too high. Additionally, the only difference is with the crispness of detail. 1080 P and maxed game settings looks great but if you don’t get to see more of the game world if you switch to 4K. It still looks like you are zoomed in on the action but with 4K it is more crisp but now movement lags and stutters. So with a large 4K monitor like this, you Can see more of your desktop and apps by setting resolution to 4K but in games, your field of view will be the same in 4K as it is in 1080P. Last 2 minor cons. First is: If I set freesync in the video card, the screen flashes and I get the message about switching into game mode depending on what I am doing. It only does that once when I start a game but can do it frequently when I am doing normal pc stuff and that gets annoying. I am not sure if that is because of the signals AMD is sending to the monitor which may be confusing it or if people running Nvidia cards and drivers also experience the same thing. My solution to this is to quickly and easily turn off the freesync option in the AMD driver and only turn it on when I am going to play a computer game. Th second is: I have my pc set to go into screen saver after 2 minutes but when the screen saver ends and sets the monitor to sleep, the LG screen saver kicks on and then pops up a message about signal being lost. This does not seem to turn off. My 10year old Samsung would go into sleep mode which conserves energy and monitor life and it would wake again once I moved the computer mouse and the PC sent a fresh signal to the TV. I wish this did the same thing. Again, it is a problem only if I did not miss some setting that would enable the TV to work with windows when Windows sets the monitor to sleep mode. I love this as a computer monitor but a 43” model would be ideal.

Really excellent TV. Picture is even better than my plasma was and better than any other modern LED/LCD TV out there. I bought an LED 4K TV years ago but was unimpressed with the off angle viewing and low contrast. This OLED blows all of them away. The menu and remote are a little confusing but not bad when you get the hang of it. I use my Alexa or Harmony remote 90 percent of the time. Paired with a new soundbar and this is an incredible living room setup. It is very expensive though. Thanks to Best Buy’s price match I’ve already saved $160 and I’ll end up with $75 in rewards which does make it better.

Wanting a new TV for my PS5, I did a ton of research. My home has been exclusively a Samsung TV home for about 15 years; however, all reviews led me to this TV as it is the highest rated TV on the market. I decided to make the switch and go with this LG TV (55 inch). Let me tell you, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The picture on this TV is something that cannot be described. Very easy to set up and calibrate. The picture I get from my PS5 and my Apple TV 4K are out of this world. It even upscales older programs. My only hesitation was the dreaded burn-in that so many mentuon. My purchase of a Geek Squad policy put that trepidation at ease. Looking forward to many years of enjoyment from this TV.

This TV is fantastic! I came from a 2014 Samsung 1080p TV, one of their highest end at the time and the difference is insane. Yes, it does get as bright as LED but that’s a good thing for most content. It is a realistic brightness giving natural true to life colors with unbelievable contrast. LED brightness often comes off as unnatural and not very real, I much prefer this picture. It is also much better for the eyes. The only knock was the stand as it isn’t as easy to put together as some of the competitors but by no means changes the experience once assembled. I am already saving to change my other TV to an LG OLED. If worry about burn in, there are settings to prevent and if you get Geek Squad, that is covered.

I’ve had the CX for less than a month, but so far it’s exceeded all my expectations. 4K shows in HDR and DolbyVision are perfect. My Xbox One looks great with it, as does my Nvidia Shield TV. I don’t have an external sound system, so I’m using the internal speakers in stand mode. It does an ok job with surround, but sometimes the extra Atmos channels overwhelms the internal speakers, especially with the OLED surround setting turned on. Overall it’s a great tv, and I’m extremely happy with the purchase.

I've always been one of those weird PC folks that used a TV for a monitor due to wanting a more cinematic experience than a competitive one. This TV is absolutely phenomenal. Being able to play 4k at 120hz and have a capable HRD experience is amazing. Having 4 HDMI 2.1 ports has been incredibly useful with this new console generation. I like that I no longer have to prioritize my PC or another device. The only thing I don't terribly care for is the app store. I wish there were more apps available or a way to integrate android market place without an extra device. There is a great selection of apps that are available, but don't expect to see things like ATT TV Now or some lesser used streaming apps like HiDive.

Did a lot of careful research and consistently found that this TV was the best TV you can get for next gen consoles. Coming from an old 42" thats almost 6 years old, this TV was quite the upgrade! Gaming on my standard ps4, the TV seemed to improve the overall quality. HDR takes a little getting used to as you should be adjusting the settings both in game and from the TV but when dialed in to your taste, it really makes it much more enjoyable. watching netflix/amazon prime in HD is also stunning although I havent found the right settings for those yet. Some shows do look like they have the "soap opera" effect right out of the box but that can be adjusted in the settings. overall, this TV lives up to the reviews.

I’ve never owned my own TV so I decided I had to go all out for my first. Let me just say that this 55” OLED CX sits beautifully in my room and has been in use every day since I got it. Movies with HDR and Dolby Vision are a great experience in my bedroom theater with the Vast Color Range, Deep Blacks, and a detailed picture that pulls me in like no other TV has done before. I’ve spent so much time watching Movies and Shows that I haven’t had a chance to check out gaming yet but I’m sure I won’t be let down. Overall I would definitely suggest this TV if you’ve done your research and are interested in the hype around OLED, you won’t be disappointed!

This is the best television I have ever owned. I got this primarily for my Playstation 5 console and it looks absolutely incredible. I upgraded from a 40in TCL 4K tv and it felt like I had entered the next generation of gaming all over again. The colors pop, the image is very crisp, many customizable picture and sound options. The speakers are very good for built-in and even has a bit of bass to it. The 120hz refresh rate on games like Destiny 2 and Call of Duty make a HUGE difference. Competative modes are buttery smooth. If youre looking for a TV to take full advantage of your new game console, this is the one.

My wife and I were in the market for a new TV. Since we’re both older, we wanted a set that had a sharp vibrant picture so we could see it better. My wife found out about OLED technology and talked me into taking a look for ourselves. We were not disappointed! This TV has one of the sharpest, clearest pictures I’ve ever seen! I’ve had exceptional luck with LG products in the past, and this TV continues the streak. It’s well-made and easy to use. If you’ve ever used a WIi remote, the remote will be second nature for you. The price may be a sticking point for some, but when you see the picture and sheer functionality of the TV, you will be glad to pay extra for something of extremely high quality.

A-maaaaazing clarity and sound! My eyes literally popped out of my head when I first turned this TV on. You can literally see people’s pores on screen. And OMG I actually got rid of my sound bar because this TV’s sound quality is unlike any other TV. Worth every penny! All I want to do is watch TV now! Warning - this TV is heavy but its a different kind of heavy due to the back being glass. Make sure u have a wall mount for heavier weights. Even the stand is super heavy, so must be placed on a sturdy stand. You get what u pay so this is definitely a sturdy super flat TV - it should not break easily at all. Buy this TV! Your eyes and ears will thank you!

What can I say that hasn't been said many times by others? Out of box picture setting are pretty good...turn trumotion off on all your setting options to remove the soap opera effect. No issues so far but has been less than a week. It is mounted on a stand mount (floats) so I didn't use the stand which seems like it's a little awkward. M6 screws are needed for mounting with washers. Length is dependent upon the wall mounting device used. Biggest dislike is the magic remote if it had to pick something and maybe too many options without explanation behind them. Watch some YouTube videos to learn more on what they do. A must buy. Picture is awesome.

This TV offers superior image quality and very good sound quality, too. I bought a soundbar for it, but it's not necessary like with some other TVs. This model allows me to monitor all other LG ThinQ-capable products, and supports a lot of apps including streaming services. Remote has shortcuts to Netflix and Amazon Prime. It even allows you to watch live TV thought LG without a cable TV subscription. Pretty cool for news, weather and even sports and TV shows. The power button on the remote seems defective but that's easy to fix and not related to the TV per se, so it doesn't change how I feel about the TV, though.
