Excellent TV All Around
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this LG OLED55CXPUA to replace a dead Vizio DU55D1 after 4 years of service. TV was open box and came with TV only. Was still like new with no scratches and a couple of hundred dollars below list price. Compared to the previous Vizio 4K non UHD set, this TV looks and performs much better. In turn, the 4K Vizio looked much better than the 1080P 48’ Sony XBR4 Bravia set before it. When the LG CX is displaying Dolby Vision content or HDR10+ content everything seems to shine. What I first noticed is that you can see reflections/glare in the actors eyes. I cannot ascertain any motion stutter/judder with many of the TV features set on AUTO. LG WebOS works flawlessly (it has all the major streaming software except HBO Max) as do most of the integrated features. It handshakes via ARC with my Yamaha RXV575, but does not pass Dolby Digital + to the receiver, instead only sending Dobly Digital (I don’t have speakers for height anyway). We use an Amazon fire stick HD out of habit and it works very nicely with the TV; the LG remote will control the fire stick when switched to that input. The remote for the TV is ugly, but fits in the hand well and all the buttons are laid out exactly where your thumb would expect them to be. Having bought a refurbished remote, I have not been able to get the cursor mode to work or voice command, but seems like handy features. I assume this is a setup that needs to be handled somewhere, but is not immediately intuitive without the manual. I think it’s a wonderful TV to look at and haven’t found any faults with it. Stunned by the picture even in our sun-lit living room. There is a newer model of the CX out this year (CX1?), but if the price is right, I really don’t think you could go wrong with this one.

Amazing TV, Annoying Remote Control. WebOS is meh.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not only the best TV I've ever owned, arguably the best TV I've ever seen. Amazing picture, four HDMI 2.1 ports for futureproofing, 1ms response time. 120Hz. Freesync AND GSync for an incredible gaming experience. Everything I could possibly want in a tv. The magic remote, on the other hand, is aggravating. If they gave the option to TURN OFF THE STUPID POINTER it would fix everything, but no. Every time you move the remote you wake up the mouse cursor. Constantly. All the time. On purpose. By accident. Whether you like it or not. Also, WebOS has disappointing app support for the less well-adopted services. No HBO Max, no Tubi, no Shudder. Etc. It's also expensive, but that's just the nature of OLED. But......the TV itself is 10/10. If you use a separate streaming box and can get used to an overly excited remote control, it's still absolutely worth it.

Great TV, but you pay for it (and a bit fragile)
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is a bit pricey, but it's very nice. The picture is excellent, especially high quality content like "Dolby Vision" from Netflix. I did see one scene once (Voice Finale I think) which contained columns of fire and I saw some artifacts in that, not sure if that was my settings or what. Games look great on it as well. I am not using TV sound (I have two tower speakers and as subwoofer tied to a Denon receiver that is connected to the TV), so I can't really say anything about native TV audio. The TV is very, very thin and feels a bit fragile (top two thirds). If you think you will ever have to move the TV, it might be a good idea to find a way to save the original box as I think it would be difficult to pack it securely without that. One reason I bought this particular TV is the base, which works with my TV stand where most TVs today have those little feet, very far apart, which would not work with my stand. This TVs stand is almost exactly the same width as my stand. The apps on LG's WebOS are pretty good, although HBO Max is currently lacking. They do have Prime, Apple TV, Netflix, YouTube and Hulu (that I have noticed). I believe the XFinity app works on this TV as well, although I am not using that as I have a DVR connected instead. The TV uses the so-called "magic remote", which has a laser pointer kind of thing. I'm not a fan of that and I only use the remote to fiddle with TV settings (I use a Harmony remote otherwise). The TV is pretty good about automatically recognizing the type of input & changing to appropriate settings (that you have configured for that type of input). Here I'm talking about things like HDR, Dolby-Vision, etc.

Just about all I could want
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely worth it if you have a dark room . After buying a ps5 I knew it was finally time to get a good TV. I've always stayed up to date with the different tech a knew oled was still the best in most people's opinion. My friend has the c8 so I had a good idea of what they looked like. Lg seems to be the only brand to implement the new features without drawbacks that the ps5 offers besides 8k of course. I could of waited for the new sets to come out but the price I got seemed good. One thing I could of benefited from is the new TV tuner that will be used with the new broadcast standard. Burn in is a major topic with oleds. With my friends experience and others online having many hours on their TV I'm not too worried. Tons of features to help you fight this problem. Keep it in mind but don't let it be the thing that makes you say no. The image quality is amazing. Dosnt take much work to get a really good picture out of any source. Even a 480i video can look decent. Pull up some oled sample footage and be amazed. Fireworks are great to watch on it. The only thing that can look pretty bad is noise like film grain. Depends on the content. Webcam footage that we are accustomed is another example. Sound is pretty good for a TV that's as thin as it is. You'll get a little bass. Just a little. The simulated surround sound is unbelievable for what it is. I found myself pinpointing the direction. It worked that well. Biggest downer is no 3d lol. I've always been into 3d and really wanted a 3d 4k oled. There is nothing like a good 3d experience at home. Lg needs to make one again for the total cinema experience enthusiasts.

Satisfied Customer - LG OLED 55" TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best TV if you want to use it as a monitor for your laptop or pc. Note: Must have a dedicated stand-alone graphics card on your pc or laptop to take advantage of the tv as a monitor. I'm using the NVDIA 2070. TV is the best I've owned with eye popping color and superior contrasts with deep blacks.I purchased the 55" model so it's like having a bezelless monitor holding 4 27" monitors. Also, make sure to get the proper HDMI cable for this TV.

Hard to Beat
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG CX is hard to beat if you're looking for all the features of an OLED, but also spend a decent amount of your time gaming. Even though LG has continued to put out OLEDs, I would say that you can't go wrong purchasing the LG CX for now. I haven't had any pixel issues or burn-in. I do vary my content, but I can also go down the rabbit-hole with a game; none of their HUDs have caused any issues, and I keep pixel shift and logo luminance off. My only issue, which is an issue with basically all OLEDs, is that dark scenes tend to make the OLED start to dim thinking you're on the same screen and thus protecting itself.

Amazing picture quality without many adjustments!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our old Vizio 55" finally gave out after five years. I had the panel repaired to give it to my wife's cousins since they wanted it if I got it to work. We finally decided to upgrade and purchase a new TV, but also wanted to enjoy it for sports, movies, and listening to music. I am also an active gamer, so I can go on long gaming sessions if time permits. We first started with the Samsung Q80T. And overall, compared to my old Vizio, of course, I was amazed. But after a couple of weeks, I found myself needing to adjust and readjust, the blacks during gaming such as Destiny 2 were heavily crushed. So I made the next best decision, I upgraded to the Q90T! Long story short, the quality was outstanding, but when I hopped back onto gaming, it was that black crush again! Finally, I was hesitant to go with the LG CX because of the "burn-in" issue. But I eventually did pull the trigger and went for the LG CX. Immediately just firing up ps4 pro and even a 4k UHD video, and it was a complete difference to the quality of the Q90T. I have done very minimal changes to both my games and movies and I can't be happier. My TV is next to a large sliding window, and I've had no issues with lighting or blacks being too black. It is a great TV. But of course, there is one issue in particular that I have been having! The HDMI port 2 (ARC/eARC) continually disconnects from my soundbar! I have disconnected the power from the soundbar, TV. I have disconnected the HDMI cable on both ends. I have swapped HDMI cables to see if that was the issue, but for some reason, my TV still has problems with connecting consistently with the ARC connection even though I have an LG soundbar LGSN7R.

Gamers delight
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading several reviews, and hearing from several relatives that bought this same tv, I decided to take the plunge. Needless to say, everything about this television is excellent and pretty much all reviews are spot on. Picture quality is superb, showcasing amazing blacks, and color contrast! However, the REAL motivation for getting this set was because it comes feature packed to take advantage of all the next gen consoles! I played extensively with my Series X and this television and I am utterly impressed. The support for Variable Refresh Rate, a low response time, and 120hz (for games that support it) ensures that you get silky smooth and responsive gameplay! It was truly a transformative experience! I was using an LG 7300PUA prior to this, and while that tv produced a great picture for a budget friendly set, the leap on quality was pretty substantial with the CX. From a purely gaming perspective, this has provided me with a level of responsiveness that is as close to a PC as you’re likely to see from a console! The set is also aesthetically pleasing with a super thin appearance, it looks like a painting when wall mounted! Some have mentioned that this televisions peak brightness isn’t the best, but I couldn’t say it made much of an impact while I watched and played content on the CX. With support for G-Sync and Freesync this tv has all the tools to make a great pc monitor as well! This tv checks all the marks when it come to offering great visual fidelity for watching content and great response time and performance for gaming! Highly recommended!

My best TV purchase ever!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will start off by saying WOW! Picture quality is unbelievable while watching Dolby Vision, HDR10, and 4K HDR content! Game Mode with HDR, Instant Game Response, and AMD FreeSync on Xbox One S is also amazing! When purchasing new TV’s, I usually go through two or three returns/exchanges as I am VERY picky about picture quality and this is the first ever one and done purchase! This is also my first LG purchase and first OLED TV. If you can afford it, you will not be disappointed. I paired this with the new LG SN8YG Dolby Atmos Sound Bar & the LG SPK8-S rear speakers and OMG... Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos; can it get any better than this?!? I did hit a snag on day 4 of owning this TV; I am wired via Ethernet and all of a sudden none of the TV apps would work, couldn’t even launch the LG store. It said I was connected to the internet but nothing would load and I kept receiving all sorts of connection errors. After some online research, this has been seen before, and may be some sort of router setting issue; I found a recommendation of changing the DNS Server on the television to 8.8.8.8 and so far, this change has resolved the issue.

Very Happy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this tv for over three years now and throughly impressed with all of its features. I have this mounted in a very bright room and I’ve never had an issue with being able to see the picture. I consistently get compliments on the picture quality as well as how much bigger it looks than it really is.

Excellent Television!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am coming from Sony x900e and this tv is definitely an upgrade for me. The picture quality is amazing on this set. Blacks are blacks and the contrast pops! HDR is very good considering that it is an OLED. High-speed HDMI 2.1 ports for all inputs (4) is such a great convenience. Sound quality impressed me but I currently use a soundbar. I got this tv on sale couple of weeks ago. Great purchase for me personally.

1st OLED
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Taking advantage of some price reductions and replaced Samsung LED curve with same size LG OLED. No regrets. Straight out of box even HD cable TV looked great. Blacks and whites looked very good. Black solid and deep. White bright and smooth. Flesh tones were right on. I use a TiVo remote 99.9% of the time, works well with LG. The only time change remotes I do use the LG remote when changing display modes. Multiple display modes easily changed. TV seems to automatically switch modes as inputs change. Easy to suit to personal tastes. Have not used supplied remote, but it’s easy to use and includes Amazon and Google virtual assistants. Yes, screen is thin. Warnings on unboxing instructions regarding proper way to handle and hold TV. Input sources easy to hook up, slight con...input connection too close to edge of TV. Too visible. Power cord also too short to fit nicely in my setup. Installer said most people usually install on the wall, I used included stand on a cabinet. TV recognized cable box, Apple TV and 4K BluRay. ARC works fine with audio hookup. No comments about TV’s built-in audio as I haven’t used it. All Dolby functions, audio and video available, but recommend you read advertising to understand audio functions with built-in speakers. Minor con, no printed manual and must dig around web site to download. Common I know, but still. Controls of video can be very simple or as detailed or complex as you would expect from a modern TV. Really like the TV. Great picture. Would recommend.

OLED worth every penny.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OLED is absolutely worth the extra cost. Gaming is super responsive, black levels are perfect, and HDR pops. This is also a surprisingly great PC monitor as it has G-sync/Freesync built in and will detect a connected PC for extra responsiveness. I had an LED with local dimming before this and it doesn't come close to this picture quality. Very happy with my purchase.

Awesome
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as an upgrade over a much cheaper Samsung KU6300 display that I had bought years ago as a Black Friday special. This was a significant improvement in several ways. First was the picture quality - the Sammy had terrible color banding, particularly with dark grey and black scenes in games and shows. Images of space and shadowy rooms were marred by banding gradients of grey. The inky blacks of OLED have solved this issue, and it's a dramatically noticeable improvement whether you're playing a video game or watching a show with dramatic lighting contrasts. It routinely garners comments from friends and family. The other improvement is proper HDR support, as this is a 10-bit display vs the 8-bit of the Sammy. OLEDs are not known for their brightness, but this is still an appreciable difference - particularly in video games. Which is my next point: the response time and refresh rates are literal game changers. Games look and feel smoother, due to the image keeping up with input from consoles. This is now an older model, but both this and the more recent C1 are an easy recommendation for anyone looking to take the OLED dive, or upgrade their display for the new generation game consoles.

Just do it...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, what a great TV. Takes some time to set up, and I'm constantly changing a couple settings every time I switch content. Although you can set up pretty decent picture settings per input. I still find myself messing around with the settings for every show I play. But that's one of the best features of this TV. The settings, I could spend what seems like hours just messing around with them. Some people would think that was a flaw, and while there are better tvs out there for set it and forget it picture settings. If you want the perfect picture every time, this is your TV. The best gaming TV their is right now. Although if you plan to game or use as a monitor, I highly recommend the geek squad protection plan. They will cover burn in. As for the cons, coming from a Samsung led, this TV is much darker. I have it in my bedroom where I watch TV and game usually in the dark. It's more than playable in a brightly lit room but has poor anti glare and I imagine having a lamp or windows facing it would be a problem. As of the CX LG no longer supports DTS pass through which is baffling considering how many of the first blurays were DTS. And the 2.1 only supports up to 40gbs. Which honostly isn't a big deal. But if you want the best gaming TV then this is it. You want the best all around TV get the Sony Oled, and if burn scares you get the Samsung Q90t but make sure you check for screen uniformity.

Love this TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been a Samsung guy for years and have always like them. I decided to spend a little more and go with the OLED and I’m glad I did. This TV has a beautiful picture. It’s great for gaming and watching movies. The only downside is the remote is awful but I use a harmony remote so it’s not a big deal for me.

Great TV, but read about it!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing television with perfect blacks and fantastic colors. Great for gaming especially if you have a 20 or 30 series Nvidia card. READ UP ON ISSUES BEFORE BUYING. Hdmi 2.1 cables and software/firmware updates are necessary to get things to work right. Still minor issues in dark areas in games played on my 3080. But it's at a point where it's playable. Fantastic tv albeit expensive.

||Posted . The HDR is great and the amount of settings that the TV offers allows the user many ways to tweak to their preference. What you hear about this TV is TRUE! INCREDIBLE TV!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this television for a few weeks now and have absolutely no complaints. The picture is crisp, bright, vibrant, sharp, and pretty much stunning. Works excellently as a gaming display, but 4k movies look beautiful as well. The U.I. is very easy to use, and the magic remote with its motion controls makes this so fast to navigate and use. Awesome TV.
