Transcending what you thought was even possible

Wow. It’s really the only word that can come close to describing this panel. I upgraded from a bargain “hdr” LCD and had a hard time explaining the upgrade path and reason to my wife. She reluctantly agreed to the purchase but remained skeptical of its worthiness. Well, the panel arrived yesterday and we put it on the wall mount and I fired up the store demo mode. Even I wasn’t prepared for the staggering beauty of the 4K picture on the panel. The contrast from the absolute “and I mean absolute” blacks to the bright and vibrant colors was nothing less than a transcendent experience in what I thought was even possible. My wife had to pick her jaw up off the floor and she immediately said she wanted another one for our upstairs living room. Really excited to consume more content on this.. Considering the above and the breadth of the feature set (HDMI 2.1, VRR (freesync AND G-Sync), Dolby Vision, and on and on this panel is a no brainer.

This is hands down the most beautiful display I have ever laid my eyes on. The colors are incredibly punchy and the contrast is amazing. Not only is it Oled it's also 120hz with freesync/gsync and HDR! I like to personally use it as a gaming monitor in a 21:9 3840x1600 res. Because it's oled, you wouldn't even know there were black bars especially in a dark room

This is the best TV (OLED) you can get right now without taking out a loan. The picture is mind blowing and it gets very bright. I have mine in dark room so I cannot speak on its performance in bright rooms but I imagine it handles very well. Also I am not the only one who says this, I encourage you to look this TV up on rtings.com for a more in depth review. If you like to game (which what I use it for 90% of the time) it’s perfect. Outputs 4K at 120fps with auto-low latency and AMD free sync premium. I have my Xbox series x connected to it and a vizio v51 surround system and I couldn’t be happier with an entertainment center under $2k. Also, the top half of the tv is literally less than half an inch thick while the bottom half houses the processing components and speakers but still maintains an crazy small thickness. Only con I can think of is the built in speakers, they get Really loud and have great clarity but the bass response is nonexistent and produces a notable amount of blowout BUT that is something you will experience on just about every TV on the market. So if your going put the money in for this TV please get a decent soundbar or surround to compliment it. I suggest the vizio v51-h6.

I upgrade from a Panasonic VT25 be ( plasma ). Tv looks excellent after making tweaking the picture settings. Rting.com has recommended settings. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/gx/settings. (CX and GX settings should be similar. I used mosted of the suggestion definitely turn off True Motion, Real Cinema, Motion Eye Care. ) I have owned the tv for 30+ days. I plan to get it calibrated in the near future. My set up: Apple 4k TV, Panasonic 820 4k player, Xbox One X, and Oppo Digital 93 blu-ray player running pass through through Denon X1600H. One con: the remote. It takes some getting use to. It is not intuitive. Look up online how to use b4 you buy the tv so you don't waste a bunch of time trying to figure it out how it works

Perfect picture quality, gaming on PS5 is beautiful, has every app imaginable on the store except HBO Max as of 1-06-2021 but may come at a later time. But you probably have a game console that will have any apps that are missing. The TV is very heavy however. The Apps interface is very fast and everything works in the blink of an eye.

Needed an upgrade from a LG OLED B6P

OLED picture quality can absolutely not be beat. Nothing else comes close in my opinion. It was time to upgrade from the LG OLED B6P. It did not support the newer version of dolby vision nor pass-through a dolby atmos signal. The CX does both plus has the lowest response times for gaming. All the ports are HDMI 2.1. Supports 4K @ 120 Hz. It's a significant upgrade over a model that is 4 years older. My B6P did get burn-in but I was fortunate that LG replaced the panel for me for free as it was right under 3 years when the stupid warranty company Amazon uses was completely useless. LG proved to me they will stand behind their product and that was good enough in the end for me to purchase another LG TV. Its my 3rd LG TV since 2010. Oh, and I actually paid $500 less for the the CX than the B6P back in 2016. Tells how much the pricing how come down on OLEDs from back when they were close to $3K in 2015.

I just put this on my wall a couple of day ago. It is 3/13/21 as I am writing this. I was struggling to decide to buy another Samsung or this set. I decided I wanted an OLED. What you read about the OLED being a bit darker is true. I see that. There is an option for a Vivid picture, but to me it is way too bright and looks artificial. The picture is wonderful. I loved the Magic Remote and was one of the reasons I wanted this set, but it is not as useful as I would have liked. The menus are not as robust as my other Samsung set. There was almost no documentation with the set other than some pictorials on how to mount the stand to the set. There is an online manual which I haven't explored yet. I was hoping to use Amazon's Alexa to use for basic commands, but I am finding that difficult. Although they advertise the set uses Alexa or Google, the default seems to be Google. When I tried to set up Alexa I got a default Google screen to sign into to. It is not clear at all how to use exclusively Alexa. Also, my set top box is just identified by the HDMI port it is plugged into. So to use my cable I have to click on HDMI 2. I don't see a way to change that as yet. On my Samsung TV it identifies it as AT&T. There was also a screen to download controls to the Magic Remote so it could control my cable box. I went through the instructions several times, chose AT&T U-verse, and it did nothing. Also, it would help if there were more keys on the remote you could program for skipping forward 30 seconds or back like on my cable remote. One other thing I was disappointed in was I was really looking forward to leaving the set on to display the art I would see in the store. You can do that. You have to click on an option to start it. However, there are I would guess around 50 maybe different works of art. The problem is they don't stay on the screen as long as they did in the store. They change about every 5 seconds or so. It is frustrating if you really want to look at one, it is gone too soon. I haven't seen an option where I can change the time period to slow it down. In retrospect, the picture is great, but again darker to a degree. I suppose that depends on your taste. If I had to do it over again, I think I would have bought the Samsung Q70 and saved a lot of money. I really wish the menus were better and there were an easy way of learning all the capabilities and how to change some things rather than just searching around for yourself. Oh, one other thing. It is very easy to change the default screen on my Samsung if you want to move an app around or delete one. I haven't found a way to do this with the LG as yet. If there is a way, it isn't any where near as easy.

The OLED is hands down the best tv on the market. Think of it as the modern day version of the plasma televisions. The richer black levels, full backlit panels and the processors make this incredible no matter what you are watching. It’s shockingly pricey but if you can get past that price point. It’s a remarkable tv.

An OLED tv of this caliber makes for the best screen experience, bar none. Playing PS5 at 120fps in my living room is incredible. Contrast is perfect, and HDR is beautiful. It gets plenty bright for the highlights considering the contrast is perfect. This is the best thing in my home.

I had the OLED55C8PUA and had significant burn in. It wasn’t cost effective to replace the panel so they let me exchange it for the OLED55CXPUA. The color and clarity are better in this model, the new WebOS, newer processor, Filmmakermode, new sound options, all ports are HDMI 2.1, HDCP 2.3 compatible, 120Hz native, Dolby IQ, Nvidia GAync, AMD Freesync, WISA speaker ready, this one still supports ARC and now eArc as well, the Home dashboard displays all devices connected (hdmi, usb, phones, I can control my Phillips Hue lights, access my media server, Apple airplay, sound share , etc., etc., etc.. I mean this TV is head over heels better than my 2018 C8 model. In all the reviews I’ve read this is considered the best OLED TV to get. With the Nvidia and AMD extras it also is better than any Alienware monitors if you want to use it for gaming!!

I replaced a 4-year-old "low-end" Samsung UHD set with this one. It has a vastly better display quality (no surprise), but also works more smoothly with my Samsung sound bar and Blu-ray player than the Samsung TV ever did. The webOS interface works well and the remote's dynamic cursor feature is great. I do wish the remote had backlit buttons. (We continue to use a Logitech universal remote when using the Blu-ray player, as the LG remote can't be programmed to turn on the player, eject, jump a scene, etc.) I used Consumer Reports' recommended settings, which produce a much better picture than the factory defaults. I then made a few changes to lessen the "soap opera effect" when playing movies. My only remaining issue is finding the right settings to handle "low light/night" scenes. The set has such good blacks that we find these scenes too dark. I should mention that the sound quality the TV produces through the sound bar is also significantly better than with the old TV. Overall, we are very happy with this OLED TV and find it worth the money.

Great tv that has amazing colors and it works great for gaming as well. Is capable of 1440p at 120hz on console. If you get it, I recommend keeping it away from across a window as the dark blacks make for a bigger glare. Overall I am satisfied with the purchase.

Really deep blacks. Bright screen. Rich colors. Impressive HDR up scaling and speaker system. This is not a cheap TV and it is fragile in a move because of how ridiculously thin it is. My main gripe is with the controller. It has this mouse pointer thing that is more annoying than helpful and the select button is also a wheel so if you’re not in precise you may bring up the mouse cursor and choose something other than you’d mean to choose. But that is really a single fly hovering around one of the best tv cakes you’ll ever enjoy. My ps5 looks fantastic on it

This is my first OLED and from a month or so of use here is the pro/con take from it Pro: Black is black 120 Refresh rate at 4k Con: The colors seem a bit off,red is more orange and generally weaker then LCD. dull compared to LCD so only good in a dark room. Horrible remote and interface compared to something like Roku. Furthermore, I found out it didn't have true HDMI 2.1 ports but ones limited to 40 Gbps which means if you have a next-gen console you can't use 12bit color. No idea if this is visually dramatic but maybe a issue later.

This might be one of the best gaming TVs on the market right now. Deep colors, good HDR implementation and up to 120hz with Atmos compatibility make this a fantastic gaming TV. Unfortunately, I had to exchange my first TV has it had a line of dead pixels tuning down the TV. Aside from that, this TV is incredible.

This is definitely the best TV I’ve ever owned. The picture and colors are superb, just make sure you put it in a room without a ton of windows otherwise you’ll get a bit of glare. The feature set on this TV with HDR, HDMI 2.1, VRR, and 120hz is also all great. LG is killing it with these models.

I had a Sony 4K 950H for my series X originally and I had already planned on getting an OLED that had a 2.1 HDMI input for gaming. I was at Best Buy and seen that this TV was on sale for 1400 for a 55inch and it had all of the specs that I was looking for and I couldn't be more pleased with the upgrade!!! Generally I know that OLED and LED are different... I know that.... But to upgrade to it is a completely different experience and to match it up with the series x and to have a game run nearly full specs to take full advantage of the TV is amazing and the built-in speakers with surround sound are actually pretty good lol!! I know there's always a burn in issue but I don't have the TV set on a still frame or playing the same game where the HUD is always in the same spot for 11hrs a day to worry about that. Plus, there's always settings on the TV you can enable to help you avoid burn in and there's also a warranty that I highly recommend you get lol. All in all... 10/10 for gaming!!!!

FLAWLESS TV. Well, the only con really is the very cumbersome menu. There are so many tv settings it's ridiculous, and one can easily get lost in the menus. But, thankfully I have a tech savvy friend who also has the same TV and we spent a solid couple of hours fine tuning this beast for my computer and consoles. Now, short and sweet, this is the best looking TV I've ever purchased and my very first OLED, and definitely not the last. I can't believe the vivid colors this thing pops out. It is incredible to say the least. My first 4k TV is a TCL 55 inch that I also got from Best Buy, and while I was blown away by the 4k resolution of my games, my 4k movies looked like trash and they were too dark. 4k movies MUST be played on this OLED to look amazing. And boy do they ever. I am now convinced I need a 65 inch LG C1 wall-mounted for my living room... Please do yourself a favor and ditch the regular 4k tv and go with this OLED. You will thank me later!

This is my first OLED TV. The picture quality is unbelievable. Absolutely worth every dime spent on this technology. The colors are vivid and so lifelike. It's hard to believe such an amazing picture could come from a screen that is only 1/4 of an inch in thickness. LG is rated the highest in every survey and review that I read before my purchase. I haven't had the time to explore all it's capabilities yet, but it is so much easier to navigate than my previous Android based TV. WebOS is much better. I highly recommend this 4K, UHD, CX OLED Smart TV. The BestBuy team delivered and set it up with skill and knowledge. It's definitely worth the money for professionals to handle delivery and setup. Large TVs are delicate and must be handled properly. I also purchased the 5 year extended warranty from BestBuy. It covers every possible problem should anything happen to the TV including burn in and any accidents. I'm looking forward to many years of entertainment from this magnificent machine.
