    Good TV for dim room

Overall we are quite happy with this 55" 4k tv. Plenty of setup and adjustment options. BUT take care because HDR can over drive the color. We keep our room dim and use a rear bias light. Bad: Very few (8?) large local dimming sections. Hard to get decent contrast in bright room. Good: Excellent and comfortable remote included with the two top tier models. - very nice voice, pointer or button controls. Plenty of inputs. We use 3 of 4 HDMI inputs plus an external hard drive on USB. Overall- we tried several other brands of mid cost ($500-600) models before choosing this one. It Would be the best non OLED or Q tv IF it had many more local dimming areas.

This TV is good for someone who isn't too crazy about having a really top notch TV. It's great for gaming, and the smart features are great as well. The downside of this product is that it is edge-lit, not full-array backlight and the local dimming isn't that great, which makes the deep blacks really suffer. However, if you play around with the settings, I was able to find one that works great. Overall a really great TV for the average consumer.

I am really happy with my choice but next time I would choose a Qled. Unfortunately, this tv is amazing the only issue that I have is that the local dimming is poor to me but lucky for me it is only noticeable in some scenes when watching a movie in Dark scenes. the only time that really bothered me was on a video game loading screen and I was completely in the dark. I love it and I will keep it as to get a better tv it will cost me double. :) I hope this helps.

TV works well for movies, decent for video games. The local dimming leaves much to be desired, however, so for dark games and scenes you will need a dark room to get a decent picture out of it. For the price it has excellent picture quality with good color.

This was my 1st 4k so overall I'm impressed but the the local dimming gives it bad banding issues. With it turned off its only visible from sharp angles now and it's very faint. I wouldn't recommend at full price but I bought when 2019 models came out and for that I think it was worth it.

Delight watching 4k movies/videos. Works awesome. Local dimming feature needs to be improved a lot but for this price overall performance of the TV has exceeded my expectation.

I got this TV because it was supposed to be good at representing black. It is... because you can only use it in darkened rooms. In daylight, it is just too dim. Otherwise, it is a great TV.

Colors were good, but brightness levels were way below what $900 TV should deliver. Huge disappointment, TV was returned the same day to swap for Samsung NU8000

If it had an option for zero stars I would of done so, local dimming is horrible, light bleeds so annoying, picture quality is somewhat ok but not to the degree I expected for it's Price!!!! What a rip off, I'm trying to get rid of it until I buy a Samsung Qled

Should’ve taken the other reviews into consideration about the gray shifting on the screen. You can see the local dimming doing it’s work and it’s just horrible. Had to exchange it for a different TV.

An OK tv. Not a great tv

I bought this television a few weeks ago. I ended up returning it and exchanged it for a Samsung NU8000. I had the 55 inch version. It was ok, but the colors and brightness just did not compare to my Sony or to the Samsung that I just bought. I would recommend that if you are thinking about this tv for the price point, you would be much more satisfied with the Samsung because the colors and brightness are head and shoulders above this tv. FYI: I have an 82 inch Sony, an old 37 inch Vizio, and now the 65 inch Samsung. All of those, even the old Vizio, were better in my opinion than this LG.
