    Why isnt this tv on display yet? Im very interested in this item and i dont see any reviews about it or any specs, please bring this out asap! Hopefully the blacks are better this year but even so, i still want this tv!

    I Just Bought this TV and completed the set-up of netflix, amazon, and Sling when after a few days the the TV had the "unable to pick up wifi message" when i turned it on. My family and I had wifi on our computers, phones and iPads but not on the TV. The TV didnt even display the surrounding Wifi names from our neighbors-nothing was was showing up. It will now show the message for 1 minute or 2 then connect. I am about to trade this question "smart" TV in and get another one. Don't buy.

    I CANNOT RECOMMEND THE LG 55 SK8000. I purchased this TV back in November after reading several positive reviews. From the start, I've been incredibly disappointed with how the SK8000 TV projects/presents dark scenes. In any dark or night shots, there are bands or columns of grey that pop up wherever a lighter spot appears in the scene. To make matters worse, if the closed captioning is on, about 20% of the entire screen gets lighter from top to bottom in a uniform band every time the closed captioning lettering appears on the screen. It looks terrible. In fact, my 5 year old Sony had a better picture when things on the screen get dark. I've tried several times running the picture test and adjusting the picture settings without success. The problems with the picture aren't the only issues with the TV. I have also had a lot of difficulty with synching the audio to my Sonos Soundbar. I have to adjust the lip-synch every few days because the sound doesn't match what is on the screen. When I called LG about the problems I was having, I got an overseas customer service representative who, while very nice, did not speak English well. More importantly, they offered me no solutions, and they gave me the run around. I've submitted my proof of purchase for the TV, and I'm continuing to try to work with LG in an effort to get them to help me with the TV. When I called BestBuy, I got someone whose English proficiency was even worse than the person at LG. The BestBuy Customer Service representative was no help. When I called the Best Buy store just to get a copy of my receipt from the TV I purchased there in November, they explained that they couldn't help me either. Color me disappointed with the LG 55 SK8000, with LG, and with BestBuy. In short, I wish that I had not bought this TV.

    TV is ok! Not what i expected

    I bought this tv from Best Buy last night. THe tv was hanging up in the store and the picture was AMAZING! Our old LG tv lasted for 12 years and we had no problems. We set our new LG55SK800 set up last night and we are so disappointed!!! THe picture quality is nothing like it was in the store. I am seriously thinking of returning it. The pictures are dark regardless of making adjustments. Not happy at all. I can not see having this tv for 12 years like our last LG .

    Two years old and the Bluetooth/Networking crapped out. What a piece of junk. Also, this TV has the LED Array picture which is subject to a lot of shading issues. NOT happy with it. My first and last LG

    I purchased this TV on the advice of the best buy representative. The TV is fine UNTIL you watch it in a dark room and then you have two annoying areas of white light in the bottom right hand corner of the screen on every dark scene. This makes this TV unwatchable as 90% of my viewing is in a dark room. My previous TV was an LG which I loved but this one falls painfully short. Will be returning this one for sure.

    An LG fan no longer

    There is very little helpful literature included. I have two plastic pieces which are pictured in the little semi-useless pamphlet. I have no idea where they go. There is no fine tuning of the picture and if you don't like any of the pre-programmed picture modes then apparently you are out of luck. The pic looks awful dark to me and not all that sharp compared to older sets I have owned. And this is state of the art? I have a few other LG products that work fine. Also there were a lot of people who seemed to be very happy with their purchase of this same set. Not me.

    Not worth the price

    Spent a little extra on this tv as I thought quality would be much better than “lesser brands” I noticed immediately I did not like the picture, messed around with all the features and figured it would improve. It did not- sports were blurry, football looked bad, which is why I bought it. Returned it and bought a comparable sharp on sale for $550 less than the LG. Love the picture on the Sharp and for the price, it’s a huge upgrade overall. Disappointed with LG and will not buy another one

    DO NOT BUY!!!!

    Well, sad to say that this product is GARBAGE!!! Was watching Netflix and paused my movie. Just to come back an hour later and press the remote and TV remained blank. No picture or sound; you can't even press the menu because the screen is blacked out. All I could see is a blank screen. I've done everything in the book of google and Youtube to bring this TV back to life, but to no avail. What a waste of money!!!!! I guess these TVs are now made so cheap, so that we can keep buying new ones every 3-4 year interval. I still have my 10-year-old 32" Toshiba running in excellent shape!!!! What a shame, LG!!! Never buying your products again. If there was a zero star, I would give you that rating.

    Horrible Vertical Backlight Banding

    Purchased this TV October of 2018, got it home and setup, and decided to see what it could do. Put on a Blu-ray of "How to Train Your Dragon" as it has a range of deep dark and bright light scenes, as well as fast motion/panning. It handled fast motion well, but within the first 10 minutes I noticed very apparent vertical backlight banding across the screen. To me, this is unacceptable from any display, and especially a current gen UHD 4K. Ended up exchanging it two days later for the Sony X900F, which completely outclasses this TV.

    sound sync issue

    After 4 days of numerous calls to Best Buy, Geek Squad and LG, no one was able to resolve the lip sync issue. The sound and audio were not in sync. Input source was not a factor. I spent many hours trying every fix I came across on the internet. Seems to be a common issue with LG TVS. I returned and purchased a Samsung Qled instead. Works like a charm, issue solved.

    Check out others before you buy

    I was really excited when I received this tv from my husband. It is a big upgrade from what we had and I loved lg products. That is until it randomly started to stop streaming every single thing I tried to watch. Apps crash constantly and streaming seems to have to be reset every 5 minutes just for me to watch something. It wasn't due to my internet either as I have other devices connected that have no issues including a two year old 4k tv. If you're wanting to buy this product, ubderstand that its app store is limited (they dont have apps such as HBO but have others) and you may experience technical difficulties with it.

    The sound is terrible

    I bought and returned 3 thinking the fluctuating sound issue was the tv and not this model. This tv was recommended by the best buy salesman. I adjusted all the sound systems, connected a sound bar and still the sound fluctuated. Don't waste your money.
