Had TV less than a year and screen stopped working
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The investment for this TV is not worth the hassle. After less than a year of ownership the screen stopped working completely. A service technician from LG came out to inspect and stated it was due to physical damage from an "internal crack" I had caused to the TV. Only issue is the fact that I hadn't touched, banged, or did anything to the TV that could have resulted in such damage. It was sitting passively in the same location for months, working fine. I wouldn't press the issue, but this was a big investment and personally I do not enjoy being made to believe I did something I did not do. So either the internal mechanisms are so sensitive that a slight touch can result months later in a completely useless product. Or, there is an unreported internal defect somewhere. Either way, for all the potential perks, the fallouts are so much worse. Over a thousand down the drain in less than a year and the frustration is simply not worth it.

Beyond Satisfied
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I just moved into a new house and unfortunately, our 55” Mitsubishi Unisen LED was dropped and didn’t survive the move. We’ve had the Mitsubishi for 8 years and LOVED it! Anyone familiar with those tv’s knows what a great product they were. From picture clarity, color replication, fluid motion and sound, it was a great set. All this to say that owning a Unisen for so long made shopping for a comparable replacement difficult. We became very spoiled with the picture and sound. Because we have just moved and had not planned on buying a new tv any time soon, we were on a budget. We really wanted to keep our purchase under $1,500. We new that an OLED was out of our budget, so we first looked at the Samsung QLED sets. Decent picture, but the sound was very “tinny”. No depth and considerable distortion at higher volumes. We were becoming very discouraged until we looked at the LG SK9000. We saw this unit earlier in the store, but assumed it was an OLED because of how good the picture was. Assuming this and knowing OLED was outside our budget, we just walked by not even looking at the price. The sales associate could tell we weren’t overly impressed with the Samsungs, so he brought us over to the LG display. He pointed out the price of the SK9000. $1,199! I was shocked at the picture on this TV! This guy was very knowledgeable and explained that the set was a full- array backlit LED with localized dimming that allowed the set to produce such great contrast and black levels without blooming (which is common on most LED sets). We also discovered that this set had very rich and clear sound built in! Now, I know the popular thing right now with TV’s is the thinner, the better. This tv is by no means the thinnest on the market, being that it’s back lit as opposed to edge lit. Also the down-firing speakers and woofers do add considerable depth at the base. I could care less about how thin it is or isn’t! We don’t have any of the light bleed issues that are so common on edge lit units and the sound is right on par with what our Mitsubishi Unisen produced (which shocked me!) We are completely happy with this tv! The contrast, color replication, motion, sharpness, sound…EVERYTHING! Even down to the remote control! I still can’t believe we got this thing for under $1,500! If you’re in the market for a new UHDTV, but aren’t willing to pay the premium $$ for an OLED, you can’t go wrong with this LG. Plus, there is no need for a sound bar with this unit!

A piece of crap TV - don't buy any LG product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A crack appeared on the screen for no apparent reason, no contact of any kind. we were told by LG that it's not a manufacturer's defect, it was us the user who caused the issue but in all honesty, no one was 10 feet near the TV when the crack appeared. I strongly feel this was a defect in the TV and LG must take ownership, regardless if it's under warranty or not. We would like to purchase another TV but we need some kind of rebate. Can you guys help out? its also been having issue dropping in and out of network.

Outstanding TV
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture on this TV is amazing. Colors are rich and vibrant. The motion is perfect. Set up was so easy. I was amazed at how simple it was. With a voice activated remote you are set! Get the Google Assistant app on your phone and it seamlessly connects to your Google account. This is a great feature that would come in handy to show off pictures and has many other uses. The Remote Magic controller is quite the remote. This thing eliminates the need for a cable box remote. It reminds me of a Wii controller, super easy to use and so great to not need any other remotes. The voice activation is the real deal. Just say show me my pictures and it’ll pull them up from your Google account if you have the Google Assistant activated. The only downside to the remote is it does not light up. That would be a nice feature in the dark. Overall this is a remarkable TV, a step into the future of television with the outstanding picture quality, plus all the apps, and features. Highly recommend.

Better than oled?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had previously tried an oled by LG and was not that impressed for the money. We had a 55" LG 4k that was very good but stopped working after 3 years. Geek says a new mother board may help, but not wanting to wait I bought the 55" LG 4k 9000 series after much research and boy was I amazed at this tv. Picture, color and sound were really good and we stopped using our sound bar because of the 4 speakers and the clear voice 111 setting where you hear the voices better. Amazing tv for the money. Easy to set up and very good settings for personal taste. Remote was also fun and easy to use. Can't go wrong with this tv, especially for the money. Now on sale for $300 off price of $1200!

Not A Great TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Tv after watching many reviews. Beautiful Picture and Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can i tell you about this amazing LG 4K UHD TV I can tell you the specs of the TV. What it has and what the TV ratio is or the Smart Features the voice command. I can tell you that it has 4 HDMI and 3 USB ports. But you can read this on the Best Buy web-site. But what i can tell you is that the picture is the best that i have seen in TV's. I have an older 4K TV from another big name in electronics and i have to say i LOVE THE PICTURE of this. It is so clear older movies look even better on this then when they 1st came out and the newer movies are awesome. I put this up in the living room and now it's a fight to see who gets control of it. ATMOS DOLBY Sound of this TV no Joke is amazing i even disconnected my sound bar and it is an expensive sound bar. I don't know of another brand that has a slim line TV with this much sound. If you hear it in the store you might think it's not that good but when you get it home it's a big fills the room and i only have it on 10. I know you read these reviews and they have all the info on them in these description about what it has and how it run's the type of glass screen. But for the money i really do recommend this LG. I kid you not it is making me think of replacing all of my others with LG. This TV has made me think about looking more into LG for my next purchase. If you do read this before buying the LG i will tell you that you wont be disappointed with it. You will not be returning it you will even do what i did and disconnect your soundbar you wont need it.

Great TV
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was fairly intuitive. Pointer wanted to dance around the screen, but you can scroll with the arrows. That behavior seems to have calmed down now that it's setup and has updated it's firmware. Picture quality is excellent. Using Directv remote, the volume control controls both the TV volume and Soundbar volume level simultaneously, as well as powering on the STB, the Soundbar, and the TV simultaneously. My prior TV required the use of a separate remote to control the Soundbar, so this was a good bonus. WiFi setup was pretty easy, apps work seamlessly with "Magic remote". I can easily cast my phone screen to the TV. My chief complaint, and it goes for almost every TV on the market, the sound quality from the internal speakers is just not very good. We had a soundbar with our existing setup, and that integrates well with this new TV. Pros Fantastic picture Magic remote is very intuitive Lots of apps Cons No bolts included for a wall mount. Sound quality from the built-in speakers is less than adequate, luckily I had a sound bar in my existing setup with optical input. "Magic remote" is pretty good at controlling my Directv receiver, however there is no way to get to the list of recorded programs, or to fast forward/rewind. I'm resolved to having to use the LG remote when I need to use features and apps specific to the TV, and the Directv remote for when I'm watching that. For WiFi setup, WPS would be a plus to make it a little easier than entering password with the onscreen keyboard.

Half OLED Half TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I'll start by saying this tv was fantastic. Great Vibrant colors, wonderful support for Dolby Atmos and Vision right out of the box and many more but I have to say the elephant in the room. The Blacks on this terrible are downright terrible. I wanted to love this Tv so much and for watching content or playing games in a well-lit room it may not stick it out as much but put this tv in a dark room and you're not going to have blacks, you're going to have greys. The Haloing on this tv is perhaps one of the only faults it has. Either way, if you're in the market for a Really good TV and happen to have LG smart appliances or a google home or Alexa then the assistant software built in will give you an added bonus which would convince you to get this bad boy. Be warned, and at this point your saying," I don't there that bad, I think he is just over exaggerating". Trust me. It may be one of those things you have to see for yourself. I move to another topic, Video games. aside from the blacks, you're going to love the bright colors and HDR effects on your 4k consoles and it will actually feel like your looking through A window. I tested this by playing Doom and God of war both on a ps4 pro and I couldn't believe the picture quality. At heart, this tv Has the A7 ( processors that were in 2017 OLEDs) and the Nanotech on the screen that adds more refinement of your colors along with that Full array display that does help. Regardless unless you're picky like me you're going to love this tv.

Amazing!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this TV. Picture quality is amazing. It does have some blooming in a very dark room. But other than that I cant think of one bad thing about this TV. Sound is great for internal speakers. Not the best, but pretty good . The set up is very user friendly. Love being able to control my TV, cable box and sound bar with the magic remote. Love how easy it was to set up Google assistant and integrate all of my google home products. Game mode is really nice for 4k gaming. I would highly recommend this TV.

Fantastic TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one fantastic TV. I tried a Ssmsung QLED first but this LG is so much better and less money. The viewing angles are great compared to the QLED and the overall picture is so much better and stays consistent from channel to channel where the QLED would not. Even the remote is more user friendly than the Samsung. It just gets better each time I watch it.

Great TV but one HUGE flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Call me finicky which I really am but here is my thing with this TV. Good: The tv has fantastic visuals. Especially with bright colored visuals. Speakers are amazing. The motion is GREAT. Has Dolby atmos AND Vision support. Remote control and OS are user friendly and great to use. Bad: The only gripe I have with this tv is that since it’s an IPS display there’s a HUGE risk for IPS glow or Increased backlight bleeding and it showed DRASTICALLY. For me it’s annoying and so annoying I had to return two of these cuz one was worse than the next. I had to go with the Sony X930E instead. The speakers aren’t as strong, BUT the visuals are much more consistent. If you can put up with inconsistent and all over the place IPS glow/backlight bleed, this TV is totally worth it. For me however, it’s just to annoying for me to look past, considering we’re talking $1,199 of my hard earned money. No offense, LG. But IPS displays aren’t worth that kind of risk to me. I can live without seeing a clear view from the side. I watch face front anyway.
