I purchased this TV to replace an 11 year old 40" 1080P Samsung. I compared the LG 55SK9000 to the Sony 55XBR900F. The 2 TV's are extremely close in picture quality depending on where your seating position is located. Both TV's have excellent 4K & 1080P picture, but the reason I went with the LG was the $200 cheaper price over the Sony and the Superior sound quality of the LG. No need for a sound bar on the LG. Sound is excellent in Cinema Mode!! Both are excellent TV's, however I just feel that you get more value for the $$ with the LG.

Had to run out when my 8 year old plasma TV died and we couldn't binge watch our series anymore. This TV got great reviews and I know why! great picture, good controls on the remote. Nice functions and features and they're not too buried in the menus so you can find them again pretty easily. And of course much later than the plasma TV.

Purchased this after my beloved Panasonic plasma died. Needed wide viewing angle and good motion sensitivity (or whatever you call it) for watching sports. Very happy on both counts. Picture is bright and crisp, set-up was very easy. Very happy with this purchase.

If you are a gamer this TV is pretty good especially on PC. It delivers a true 120 Hz experience and functions as my monitor. Psalm 2for hurts and 30 hurts content looks a little blurry in motion, but I found this TV better than the Samsung NU 8000 which I traded this one for. I’d recommend for both movie watching and gaming.

I needed a quick replacement for my 10 year old 55” LED. I looked at OLED, but couldn’t find it at the price point I wanted. Based on reviews it seems that the SK9000 delivers a quality picture at all reasonable viewing angles. Like most of today’s HDTV, this has 4K and UHD, but I get very little programming in this format from Xfinity. And I don’t use the smart TV features that are built in.

I love this TV. This is my second LG 4K TV. I wanted this one for the 4K capable HDMI ports for Apple TV 4K and also for the Dolby Vision HDR. This is probably the best TV from LG that is not OLED. After watching movies in Dolby Vision HDR in 4K, I don't want to see movies without it anymore. It looks that good!

This is my first LG television. The whole 4K experience on this TV is outstanding! Impressed with the easy setup. Had intended on buying another TV brand when I went into the store, but changed my mind after seeing this LG TV model. Plus, make the viewing experience top quality—buy the right HDMI cables for added components.

Bought this for my home office as I spend a lot of my time there. chose it over QLED for better picture and price. Picture is great, just one step below my OLED and for a lot less. I plan to connect it to my Mac as an external monitor-- more on that in a future post. Without hesitation I would buy this again.

Picture is great, either in dark room or bright room. The web OS system is very good, I like the ability to install different apps. The magic remote was easy to get used too/use.Sound is very good. Over all a great TV. Best Buy Geek squad was awesome in setting up and teaching me all the new functions.

Bought this 55" LG SK9000 TV on sale. Best TV ever for the price. The color is absolutely beautiful, rich blacks and bright colors, there is no distortion when side viewing, it has a Google Assistant, and a ton of other features. The TV itself is very attractive sitting on top of a curved stand. Love it!

Wow, nice TV! Very bright, almost too bright out of the box. Great picture that didn't need a lot of adjusting to get it tweaked in to our liking. This tv replaced one of 3 Samsung's that we currently have around the house. I like this tv so much that I was thinking about replacing a 65" in the large family room with a 75" or larger LG. Picture quality does depend on the quality of the signal coming into the house. We have Dish Network and the HD channels are great and the standard definition channels are just ok as with any tv. The Samsung's in our house are no better or worse than this LG at making SD look better. Would OLED make a difference with a SD signal? For myself spending an extra 1k or more for OLED just isn't worth it at this time. The menu structure for making adjustments is fairly straight forward, coming from Samsung to Lg didn't pose any challenge, its just a little different. The LG has very good speakers and bass, probably as good as they can be for a tv. We have no need for a sound bar with this tv.

Great picture, 120hz is essential if you plan on watching TV or movies as it makes movement totally clearer and more realistic and once you've owned a 120hz TV like me (since 2012) you'll never want to watch TV on a non-120hz TV again. The reason I removed 2 stars is because when you plug in non-LG speakers to the Digital Optical output, there's no way to Disable the TV speakers and just use your external ones they want to FORCE YOU to buy LG speakers the option is only enabled when you buy LG Speakers LOL. Yeah, nice try I bought your soundbar and it sounded terrible, worse than the puny 15watt or whatever speakers the TV comes with. So for that reason alone along with the terrible backlighting problems that LG has been having recently, my next TV which I'm buying sometimes early next year will probably not be a LG again.

I have this TV for about two months and so far so good.Great picture,very realistic compared to my Samsung 4K curved that I replaced.Very deep black that defenetely makes the difference.Bottom line is really good TV for the price,hopefully will last longer than Samsung!

Bought an LG 4k UHD player to go with it. Tried to hook up our LG audio system but has a lag on a different note...The sound and picture quality of the tv is superb paired with the 4k UHD player. Loving the deep blacks and quality can't be beat at this price.

So the first thing to start with, is the picture, it is terrific, I was also impressed with the sound. Then there are many features from all the different applications available. Last but not least, there is Dolby vision and HDR 10 formats.

We like the deep blacks and we feel the quality is great! We watched Breaking Bad on this TV. Dexter is one of my favorites and the tv we had was horrible. Fiance was reluctant to purchase because of price but he is happy with it! I am too.

I just got my LG SK9000 on Monday and it took a bit of time to get it set up on my display rack. This 55" replaced a 43" Vizio and with the thin frame it seems about 4" taller and a few inches wider than what I replaced. The picture is so vivid and clear compared to the Vizio. I like the LG WebOS and the Magic Remote with its floating mouse like operation and voice controlled Google Assistant. There is a good amount of 3rd party channels to view, IE Prime Video, Hulu,Netflix, Sling,Youtube, Vudu and a host of . The settings button pulls up an extensive menu along the right side of the screen to adjust sound mode, inputs, picture mode, aspect ratio, sound out, timer and network. There are lots of user help screens to guide you in setting up the TV to work with all the features.

I love this tv it’s my first premium HDR 10, Full array, Dolby vision product. The moment I opened the box it was a premium experience, I love the aesthetics of the tv and the chrome bottom that comes with it. I game a lot and I can definitely say I’d recommend this even to the most hardcore gaming community due to the fact that the HDMI ports support 120hrts. I also love the coloring of the High dynamic range with the A7 processor it’s definitely a five to be reckoned with! I worked at bestbuy and use to sell these TVs with pride knowing that when they get home there gonna love what they spent there hard earned money on.

Great picture, great sound and easy to set up. I guess you really do get what you pay for. Bought 2 TCL tv's at the same time and there's no comparison.
