    good picture

I can say the picture on this TV is good and clear with sports programming looking great also. I just wanted to point out a couple of things that might have earned it a 5 star rating. The remote is loaded with buttons but with proper onscreen mapping you could do away with more than half the buttons to make the remote easier to use and see. Also when changing the volume something does show up on the screen to let you know you are changing it but no number appears to reference where you are in the volume scale for current or future reference. You also cant resize the picture format when it is showing a program with black bars at the bottom and top. The option to change the picture size is greyed out and further reading states it is beacause the program is broadcast that way. In this day and age you should still be able to overcome that and get rid of the wide screen black bars.

I really like this TV and there are so many great features. The remote offers a voice activation, setup is easy and it guides you through it well. It will control your cable box however getting it to sync was not as simple as I would like. Picture quality is outstanding. It offers blue tooth which is great for headphones or other speakers. Not too heavy and standard mount to wall. Only thing I don't like is it uses it's own guide instead of the cable box guide. it is not as fluid and reverts back to the smallest channel. This is small and would recommend this TV. It has more bells and whistles than most.

    Don't Buy This One!

We have nearly every LG appliance they make, as well as other items, because we thought they were all so well made and never any problems. Thought we'd try the OLED TV. Big mistake! We paid over $2000 for it for our 2nd home in Florida, and watched it 2 weeks, turned it off to go back home to STL, We returned 6 weeks later and when we went to mount it on the wall, it stopped working. No picture, no sound. Nothing. We called the LG hotline who told us a certified TV repair store would call us the following day to set up a repair. It's been 5 weeks of no tv since. They've ordered 3 parts so far and they still have our TV! LG makes you play the game of waiting 25 days (one person told us 45 days) before they will even process a request to replace. Meanwhile we are without a tv and the one we may be getting back will be virtually refurbished! So sorry I ever bought this TV!

    Good but not great.

Purchased tv when it was $899 and while it was a good tv for that price it wasn’t great and certainly not worth the current $1199. Much better brightness then SK8000 and terrific operating system (webos is the best tv OS in my opinion). Color reproduction and reflection handling was also very good. Viewing angles of course were good (with it being an IPS panel). However being an IPS panel nighttime viewing wasn’t great as black levels, even with local dimming weren’t very good. Speaking of local dimming it wasn’t very efficient anyway and would lit up large areas of the screen instead of just the smaller area that needed highlight which made for very uneven picture quality in a dark room. Details in dark scenes are completely lost with lots of black crush. If you’re someone who likes to watch movies at night in a dark room you’re going to very disappointed especially at $1199 when you could get a QLED TV at that price. $899 was a reasonable deal in my opinion for these units, not a great deal and that’s why I ultimately returned it for the Vizio P series and I couldn’t be happier. At $1199 though to me it’s not even a consideration, and probably shouldn’t be for many other people either. I made the mistake of buying a brand instead of buying a tv that actually suite my needs. What I would ultimately suggest is think about how you most use your tv and buy the best tv you can afford that excels at that usage. This tv for me would only excel for someone that watches programs with lots of color and motion (sports for sure) in a medium lit environment (bad black levels for a dark room and not enough brightness for a bright room). But again at $1199 you could find a lot better TVs at that price. QLED and Sony 900 series being much better for th money. Overall quite disappointed in Lg. Seems OLEDs are where their focus is being placed now, and anything else they make tv wise just gets some left over parts.

I purchased this TV in 2018 and it continues to recieve software updats with new apps. It has Apple TV+ in the app store and the new Max app from HBO. The display on the tv is top notch. It has a 120HZ display and the sound is superb. I wiuld recommend hooking up an Apple TV dince the tv supports Dolby Atmos and HDR. I purchased at full proce. The sale price is a steal.

    Not even pandora

Very disappointed with the smarttv portion of this “top of the line” tv. It doesn’t not even have the common pandora app. Preload with the basics and a bunch of junk you will never use. Customer service provides no help other than not available. Picture quality was very good and ease of set up is not too bad

That's unfortunate to know you're experiencing issues with the pre-installed apps. I do understand your frustration with the Pandora app not being equipped on the smart T.V. Thanks for acknowledging the picture quality meeting your approval and appreciate the review given to gain insight on better accommodating you. The LG we first had would flip chaneles by itself. We returned it within one week and best Buy took it right back. Found the smart controler needs a lot of finess to master Hard to add codes and serial #s even with the smart contro ler.

    Horrible smart TV

I bought this TV on 8/3/18. So it’s a fairly new TV. The TV has difficulty connecting to WIFI even though it’s sitting on the same TV stand as the router. Also my HDMI ports are already not working. I have my Amazon firestick plugged into one of the HDMI ports and it keeps saying there is no signal. I went to YouTube to look for a solution to this issues and I see other people are having the same issue with the connecting to WiFi. Called LG and they said they would call me to schedule an appointment to have a technician come out to look at the TV. Still waiting for that call.

I have had this TV for a few years, the picture quality is still great. However, the audio output thru the optical is terrible. Everytime I want to use surround sound I have to mess with the cable, unplug plug it back in, it is a pain.

TV Was way overpriced! Image Not Great! Returned!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Not sure what all the great reviews on this TV are about, it took one viewing on this TV to realize it is way overpriced and for some reason Best Buy has the majority of their reviews as top rated reviews. I do not see how. The only good thing this TV was good for in my opinion was watching strictly 4K content (which is not everywhere at the moment) and for watching Blu Ray (which again I shouldnt have to go out and buy a bunch of blu rays just to enjoy my premium resolution)... anyways other than that the ghosting and big huge lighted squares that pop up when the tv processors tries to keep up with the black levels constantly changing. This is what is referred to as "full array dimming". Do not be suckers in to buying this technology, the algorithms of the tv just cant keep up. We also tried turning this feature off and the image was still horrible. Messed with multiple settings, couldnt get decent image. We returned and got the LG OLED C8, which I must say is probably by far THE BEST IMAGE on this planet at the moment and within reasonable price! THANK GOD WE DID! You can count heads of hair and blades of grass - No joke!

    Worse TV ever

Have to have the volume all the way up to hear anything , then when watching any show the volume will go in and out, had to put a Roku stick in just to able to watch shows so the volume would not go in and out. Worse tv ever going back to a Samsung.
