Best 4k HDR TV you can get for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price and features($599 at time of this review) it cant be beat. Full 4k with HDR10 support as well as the wonderful Web OS 3.0. Picture looks great out of the box but even better with some adjustments which can be found online at most calibration sites. Crazy that just a year ago a TV with these features would cost you $1,500. Xbox one and ps4 games look great upscaled to 4k, and gaming mode on the tv makes colors and overall quality pop. Fully recommend buying this ASAP before it goes back to its regular price of $799.

Couldn't be happier!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After viewing and using this TV for a couple months now, I can't understand why people are paying 50% more for TV's in this specification range. The resolution, colors, and depth of the blacks is exceptional. As well as the TV's ability to show incredible levels of brightness in scenes with something like the sun or a flashlight. Using a native 4K bluray player, the picture rendered me speechless. The menu interface and smart features are the best I've had on a smart TV, and I've had at least a dozen. 5 stars, two thumbs way up, buy this TV without hesitation, because there will be no buyers remorse.

Excellent!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have gone through four TVs in the last week. The TCL Roku TV, two vizios, and the LG as my fourth and I must say this one trumps them all! I am completely satisfied with my purchase. The quality is crisp, the set up is easy, and the menu is user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing. I highly recommend this tv for anyone who is looking for a great quality tv at an affordable price.

So Far So Good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Now I've never had a UHD TV and note that this is 3.8K rather than 4K. I have a 1080p LED in the basement for gaming which looks great to me, and this is better. This LG TV replaced an 8 year old 720p 32 inch LCD TV. I went from that archaic set to this magnificent 55 inch display. The color and definition are excellent, and I have very good vision. Even up close the pixels are very small, delineated, and vivid. I'd read that the sound could be insufficient, but it is fine for our small, uncarpeted living room. One thing I'm blown away by is the viewing aspect. In the olden days you had to be in front of the screen to see it with adequate brightness. This screen literally has 180 degree brightness. Downsides: None that I've noticed so far, but like I've said I'm coming from lesser technogy.

Remote and documentation are pitiful.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this LG TV on sale for $549. Original price listed as $799.99. After unpacking the box I thought that the User's Manual had been left out. Not so, as the manufacturer provided a few pages of essentially useless information. Attached my cable box to HDMI1, turned on the set and saw snow. Found the pitiful remote and looked everywhere for the "input' button. Went back to the documentation but found nothing explaining the crowded buttons on the remote. Finally called customer service in the Philippines and was told that the button with the power plug and bent cord at the top right was the input button. On came the picture which had too much contrast and then started another futile search on the remote for picture controls. The remote is so small and crowded that the two times my wife used it to adjust the volume she accidentally hit another button which displayed Smart features on the bottom which took more button hunting to remove. After struggling with this disappointing TV I returned it to Best Buy and purchased a Samsung 55 inch TV. This is my sixth Samsung flatscreen TV and my last LG.

wow!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is the best 4K I have ever seen in this price range. The blacks are unreal as well as the colors from the HDR technology which is usually only in higher end TVS....GREAT!!!!

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our previous TV had a good bit of burnout and some green vertical lines so it was time to replace it. While doing some research online I found this TV and had it in mind when I went in to the store. I loved it the moment I saw it on the wall. The picture is clear and beautiful, and much better than what I had at home. I watch on the cinema setting because it gives the most detail, but it takes some adjustment. Most of us watch our tvs with the brightness way too high (I've been guilty of this) and you lose a lot of detail in the picture. On the cinema setting you see so much more! It just takes a little while to adjust, but once you do.. WOW. Great TV, Great Price

Best UHD 4K TV hands down
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very impressed as soon as it was setup in the living room. Only complaint is wish it had one more HDMI & Optical Cable port. In short, this was an absolute best purchase I've made.

Great TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a quality 4K UHD Smart TV that didn't cost a fortune and I'm very happy with this purchase. The picture quality is incredible and the sound is pretty good for a modern day TV. I would recommend this TV for someone who wants a decent 4K UHD Smart TV, but doesn't want to spend in the thousands of dollars to get it.

Good for entry level 4k
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced a 9 year old LG LCD Flat Panel 1080p set. Easy to mount and navigate smart TV options. Picture quality and colors not as good as I had expected. Sales person advised it was an effective 120 refresh rate but it is not. It is 60hz Native and 120 "true motion." There are better TV's in same class for a little more money but this is over all good.

Great picture ,but short lifetime
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this last year on blackfriday 2015 and put under the tree for Christmas . I was very impressed with the picture . January 2017 12 months almost to the day . The tv wouldn't turn on . Of coarse the warranty ended a few days prior . So we took to the local tv repair shop where the the price to repair shop and $500 to repair . After reading hundreds of similar complaints in forums. Lg support center basically said sorry about your luck just in nicer words . I would steer clear of LG tvs.

Great price for a 4K TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best price I could find on a 4th of July sale. Tv came in good condition and wasn't as heavy as I thought. Comes with only 1 year warranty. Gerk squad warranty didn't appeal me because it covers for 2 years which already includes 1 year provided by manufacturer. So didn't feel that it was worth paying close to 100 buckS for 1 year. Hopefully TV stays flaw free.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a Samsung TV kind of person but I gave LG a try. It was better than what I expected, very clear and vibrant. Such a good television and I do recommend this TV if you're looking for a good quality that is affordable.

Terrible Dies After 1 Year
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am terribly disappointed with LG and will never buy another LG product. We have a 55" Smart Ultra 4K we purchased at the end of January of 2016 at Best Buy. This month (June 2017) the main board has gone out in the TV. When we took it to the repair people they advised this a very common and known issue with LG televisions. It will cost us $300 to repair. This television is only 16 months old and cost us $800 originally. That is terrible quality. We have other televisions by other manufacturers we have had for 10+ years without any issues. I will never buy another LG product. I have a friend who had an LG dishwasher that failed after one year of service and found out that was common issue with those dishwashers. I will tell everyone I know not to buy an LG product. They don't stand behind their products and a majority of their products fail just outside of their one year manufacturers warranty according to complaints filed online and on their social media sites. LG customer service department basically just says sorry, not sorry. Buy another TV. That is terrible!

Great entry level 4K TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Th upscaling is decent but you need to view 4K content on Youtube to really get the full effect of what this TV can do. Sure, you can spend almost $3000 and get a LG OLED 4K if you want to get the best TV on the market but for under $800 you can't beat this TV.

Great TV, heavy, simple remote, ltd ports
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV, after buying a similar TV at 60 inches. Let's stop here and say that most of my review is based on a comparison between the two. This reviewed TV has only 1 HDMI input on the side. Two are in back, and do not line up well when using a 90 degree adapter for HDMI. I needed to use this adapter because to make TV flush against the wall, needed an adapter for 2+ HDMI cables. no easy cable routing areas. Biggest disappointment, no magic remote.
