    Useless Warranty!

This review reflects my horrible experiences that I had with lg customer service - just thought you might like to know. Apparently I bought a suicidal tv from LG. I have the 2015 version of this tv that just decided to quit working. LG set me up with a certified repair tech who just happened to be 1.5-2.0 hrs from where I live (a factor that weighs in to my nightmare with customer service [CS] - because he stated that it really was not worth to him to drive that far to repair 1 tv). I told him what the symptoms were, he asked for some pix and without ever coming to my home stated that the tv was damaged beyond repair and that he was going to tell LG that the screen had physical damage! There is not even a hint of a scratch anywhere on my tv - and, yes, it is under warranty until 12/28. LG took him at his word and told me that they would NOT be covering my tv. They did offer up at that time several other certified techs much closer to my home, but that it would be at my expense to have anything done to my tv. I talked to 4 supervisors and none of them would listen to reason - just kept referring back to a tech's unreliable assessment to keep from honoring the warranty. I had had a great deal of respect for the LG brand until this incident which has cost me $900 tv. We had all our family over for Thanksgiving and I asked my two grown sons to remove the useless tv from the room (I was unable due to 2 recent major knee surgeries). Both of my sons concurred that they could not find a single scratch on it - they both stated that issues like mine are why they do not buy LG products. I am going to tell all who will listen about what has happened to me ... including the members of the church where I serve. Issue with tv? As I was hooking a new cable box to my A/V system, the person from the cable company sent an activate signal. The picture came on, the listings began to populate and then the tv slowly started to phase out from a picture to a bunch of lines that looked like they had been drawn with a crayon! Screen went black ... tv is dead. One supervisor tried to tell me that it was an internal crack on the screen - but I wanted her to explain how that could happen without any physical damage to the tv?? I had been having audio trouble with my system (hence, the new cable box - turned out not to be the problem) - the tech did tell me that a new motherboard for the tv would have corrected my audio issues. Whatever counclusion you may draw from my review - please note that this was a very convenient way for LG NOT to honor the warranty on my tv. Huge loss for me at a very bad time in my life. Hope this hasn't/doesn't happen(ed) to you.I'm

Vanessa at Tinley Park Best Buy was the nicest and most helpful sales associate. I bought a 55" LG SMART Tv from her she got me approved And I was able to take the TV home that day. Phenomenal Service and Product knowledge. Great TV and I would recommend both associate and Product to anyone. Five stars for sure.

Will Never Buy an LG Again

I have had "ironhorse" flat screens over the years that I only replaced to upgrade to a bigger model or better features. This is the first modern flat screen television I've had that just stopped working. I bought this TV in early 2017; its manufacture date is November 2016. We barely used the thing, and tonight, POOF--the screen went blank, and then it started to flicker on and off. Dark on the left side of the screen, flickering blue lines on the right side. To say I am disappointed is the understatement of the year. It's junk. I normally gravitate toward Samsung and LG--but this is my last LG purchase. It didn't even make it to 4 years of usage, and when you factor in that the TV was barely used for 2 of those years, it's insult added to injury. Don't know if I want to pay to have it fixed as opposed to getting a new one--because junk will still end up being junk. So disappointed!

    Bad Picture Quality

The TV has some nice features and is very user friendly however, the picture quality is not good. It is very dark and does not have the capability to brighten while keeping the color integrity. Blacks quickly become gray. It comes with a contrast ratio of 1000:1 which is very very poor. For the price point you can certainly get a TV with better contrast and brightness.

We purchased this TV from Best Buy 18 months ago and it is already headed to the electronics recycling facility because half of the screen won't work. Best Buy will charge $100 to simply diagnose the problem (when doing an online search of the symptoms already tells me that it's not worth the cost of repair) and LG refuses to stand by their product. They clearly know this product is junk given the fact that, in 18 months, the price has been cut dramatically and it can now be found in the clearance section. We have other, much older, televisions from "lesser brands" that have never given us an ounce of trouble.

Amazing Price for a 55" with a few flaws

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Yes, its a good price for a 55" tv and the apps are good and fast. But a few things bugged me...like how you cant change color on antenna tv cause its fixed. you can only change color settings on other inputs. My second issue is the SAP settting. You press it to watch something in Spanish. and English and Spanish language overlap eachother and you cant really understand any language. The sound aint as perfect as my old sharp tv. But overall, Yes, its a nice tv and if you aint a user of SAP or dont care much for the color configuration on live tv channels then you are set. It is a perfect tv for the bedroom. I have in in my living room and sometimes the perfect black its too bothering for my taste when the sun is out and hitting my television.

This LG is a pretty average 4K tv. The picture isn't as good as I hoped and there's not nearly enough hdmi inputs, but for tge sale price, I paid roughly $550, it was hard to say no to. There are better tvs, but there are also much worse.

LG Sucks! TV died and LG says too bad!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Flashing red light and no picture. This is a common problem with LG TVs per postings online. TVs are not supposed to die 4 months after the warranty expires. And mine did. The technician that came out (recommended by LG) took $100 and told me that it would cost $400 to repair it—better to buy a new TV. LG, take responsibility for your crappy product. BTW, this was a TV similar to this one (55UH6030). Miine is no longer available, so I cannot write a review for it. I will post on every LG review until LG responds to me. What do you have to say LG? Do you even bother to monitor social media?

Had my tv for 3 years now and all the issues people had, I’m having now. Tv keeps turning off. Will turn on for a min. Then turn off. Called customer service. All they said is to unplug the tv for 30 sec. and restart it. Please. Someone take these punks to court. I, and I know many, will file our claims that LG sold all of us a failed tv. Knowing this. That’s why they put them on sale. And of course everything went bad after the warranty expired. Worst tv ever. DO NOT BUY LG.

    Color

I got to say I got this t.v. for a great price $599. However there's a reason it's 599. Its not a bad t.v. for the price, however it ails miserably in the color department. In HDR you can't even change the color settings and the Simpson's fails a color test on it. Returning it and grabbing the Sony for about 300 more. I use LG all the time. From their bluetooths to phones. I must say I'm ad to say I'm disappointed in LG for this t.v.

After 2 months the wifi begins not to work. I have had it repaired 3 times without success. LG customer service is painful, they are NOT refunding easily. So I will never buy again a LG device.
