Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still works great 5 years later. Could use some more memory but I'm not complaining.

WebOS falls short of expectations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hardware was sufficient but the webos software fell short of functional. I had to buy a Nvidia smart TV attachment in order for any of my devices to pair with it. I probably won't buy another LG TV unless they switch to a new operating system.

Marginal picture quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has poor picture until you turn off auto-dimming. Still, the colors and flesh tones were not right and off-angle viewing was poor. I spent quite a bit of time adjusting the picture and it was still unsatisfactory so I returned it. In our room off-angle viewing matters. For off-angle viewing, an IPS display is better and this does not have it. Best Buy's specs don't tell if a display is IPS either and they should remedy that. A way to tell is tap the screen with your finger. If it's not IPS you get a disturbance where you tapped. With the help of Robert, the in-store "LG expert", I decided to buy the 49SK8000PUA for considerably more money. (The 55 inch was a little too large for our room.) The picture and overall build quality on that model is MUCH better. Off angle viewing is much better too. (Our plasma was better but it died.) We will keep that model, assuming nothing goes wrong. A complaint with both models is it is very hard to wall mount because the connections are facing back instead of sideways. I can't connect the HDMI on the back and have to use the side. Also the side USB is very hard to get to and it would be hard to add a HDMI from the side temporarily hooked to a laptop. The side connectors should be easier to reach when wall mounted. I also need the component video for my dvd player and had to buy right angle adapters to get the cables to squeeze in. Connectors should allow the plugs to go sideways so wall mounting is easier to connect.

not as expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't waste your time, bad picture, hard to change brightness, The picture is so dark and you cant change it. Maybe the worse stand in TV's, if not careful it can just topple over. This is my 3rd LG TV and never a problem,, this one will be my last from LG. I have other 4K TV's from Samsung and Hisense.....they make this TV like a joke..I really regret my purchase.

Dies after a short time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the most annoying, rip off of a TV. I have had it not even two years and it suddenly just starts turning on and off for no reason, on top of that, it won't read my internet connection. Both issues are intermittent so, I have to call LG like every week to fix, then it immediately breaks again. I finally googled the issue and several people have had it. So frustrating.

missing parts - maybe open box sold as new?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.super annoying that several parts were not included - then when I contacted best buy - they wouldn't help and said that the parts that are literally on the first page of the easy setup guide as included, aren't included. so I'm left to make several trips to the hardware store to figure out what I need just for basic setup. not sure about the tv, but certainly wouldn't order it from bb again.

AWFUL
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought 2 LG televisions and both have been a big WASTE of money . Very short life on this product . Tv broke down after being hardly used . I work full time and live alone . I spend maybe 1 hour avg a day watching TV and television went out on me in 22 months. When I bought mine I paid 550 plus tax . Is it worth 600 dollars for 22 months ? Contacted LG but they refuse to help me so far . Don't be fooled by the lower price . I will NEVER buy another LG product.

Should Have Bought the Other Brand of TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture is pretty decent, the price was ok, but the features are not what my wife and I was led to believe. We should have bough the other brand of TV we originally looked at. In addition, LG's support is basically non-existent and what they call a manual is basically useless. I have a problem/need to know how to do something, and there's no explanation ANYWHERE in LG documentation how to fix this. I'm one very unhappy customer who now has to spend more money in order to bring this TV up to the features standard my almost 10 year old TV had that this shiny new LG is replacing. No more LG TVs for my family!

DON'T DO IT! PLEASE NEVER BUY SAMSUNG TVS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You won't know about this problem until you're approaching 2nd year, Do a search if you don't believe me. All five of my Samsung TVs do the same thing while the two LGs do not. When I try to stream I get a troubleshooting pop up because my tv won't connect to the internet. I have to contact Samsung and go through a long conversation and tech session to get one tv to work then when someone uses another that one doesn't work. As I type I'm chatting with Samsung (for the fifth time in six months.) FIVE Samsung TVs in this house and they all do this . DO NOT DO IT!
