A few months ago after building a new pc I upgraded my monitor to a Visio 43 inch 4k, the specs are very impressive, no problem whatsoever, however I found myself switching to watching tv more often than so, so I found myself craving for some improvement...and with the specs the only upgrade would be to a bigger size... so I as usual I did my research..to use as a pc monitor I decided on the 55 inch.. Once again, my first choice were the Sony 900f series, but comparing it to the LG nano 8 series the only difference is the lack of the full array, which you are not going to miss, and the disparity in price was big. So, I decided on the LG 558600, I have an LG in the living room it is a 5 year plus old tv but to this day the picture quality is still much superior to some of the newer model. What impressed me with the Nano 8 series is the picture quality and the vast number of free channels in the LG Channels... with live news...so no need to hook an antenna or cable just an internet connection, setup is so so easy, a lot of built in settings.. and the bluetooth connections are a breeze... Also comes with built in apps for streaming content and even when watching regular dvd movies, the picture quality is almost as good as blu rays, makes you forget that you are just watching SD movies, that is another thing to consider. The upscaling is excellent I was not a fan of the magic remote of my other LG... but I like the newer ones, they are vastly improved, with a lot of dedicated buttons and number key pad. The other selling point is the stand, I prefer center stand as opposed to separate feet, which are useless if you want to pivot your tv...but again, as what I did with my 43 inch monitor I purchase a Vesa stand that pivot 30 degrees with a slight push of your fingers... that is definitely a great improvement, again only because I am using this a pc monitor... in conclusion, no matter how you use it be as an entertainment device or in my case as a pc monitor it shines in all department... highly recommended.. If there is one complained that I have with this TV as compared to Sony's, is that USB do not support, Flac files, not really a deal breaker. Side note.. It was on sale for $799.00 when I checked it out, but at the same time they had an open box which was still wrapped in plastic, with all the components inside, I was able to save about a hundred bucks more... cannot beat that.. I am enclosing photos of the two monitor as comparison.

I am very happy with my purchase and this TV does everything I was hoping, plus a bit more. Picture quality is impressive for the price and it comes packed with features and abilities between picture and sound options, as well as all of the ways to connect devices for various purposes. This TV stands out exceptionally for gaming purposes. If you tend to play fast moving games (FPS, Racing, Simulators, etc) you will be amazed at how quick and reactive the screen is. The low latency response and added benefit of TruMotion provides by far the most reactive image I have seen on a TV thus far and actually improved my playing in games that required quicker response times. I generally play solo offline on Xbox, but this TV blew me away with the amount of ease it has at keeping up with incredibly fast moving images. Some things to note, in case they drive your purchasing decision: - Dolby Atmos native coding: this TV is able to natively encode and decode Atmos allowing for pass-through via Streaming Device > TV > Home Theater system and retains DTS-HD Atmos, which is the highest fidelity. Wonderful, but the TV DOES NOT have an eARC HDMI port, which is required to allow the bandwidth required for DTS-HD Atmos. It can however channel Dolby Digital Atmos via the HDMI ARC, so not a major loss, but if you are getting this anticipating the best possible Atmos fidelity (which has limited content, only BlueRay players seem to produce this on the usual, Xbox and most streaming devices only supports Dolby Digital Atmos) then you will be bummed. From what I have gathered, you don’t miss much though. - Edge-lit Dimming Array - this is something I didn’t have much concept of when I purchased the TV. Essentially there are 4 types of backlighting setups, Edge-lit being the least effective, but most cost efficient and standard for more “base models” on TVs. As the name states, the backlight is emitted from the edges of the screen. Main downside is that the image has a tougher time getting the best balance to ensure you don’t get light blooming or bleed in very dark scenes or when lighting in the content changes rapidly. It’s not a major downside and I’d still buy the TV knowing as much, but it’s something to mention. If you are sensitive to occasional possible impurities to your viewing experience, you might want to look for something with a better dimming array arrangement. Alternatively, you can turn down or off the local dimming to counteract this, but it will impact energy efficiency. Honestly, I’ll pay the extra couple bucks a year so my image is well lit most of the time. Overall, definitely worth the purchase at the price and a great mid-range TV for size and ability. LG did a fantastic job and it’s a quality piece of technology. I’d implore any considering the jump to make it. You won’t be upset!

The picture on this tv is as advertised. It’s incredibly clear with great contrast. I thought about a four star rating for one reason. The local dimming feature is flawed and it bums me out. Great concept but the dimming will look like flickering when scenes change in movies. Despite that, I still think it has a great picture. Vibrant colors and clear motion. The magic remote is pretty cool too and there’s an abundance of apps (but not amazon music). Overall, the tv is great And I would recommend it.

The TV I replaced was about 15 years old. So this new 55" Nano ThinQ LG 4k TV is pretty impressive to me. I like the pointer voice remote, even though I mostly use my TIVO voice remote. The pairing was very easy. The screensavers are really cool, especially when I have guests over it's a nice background slide show with soothing music. The only thing that stumped me was the horseshoe stand doesn't swivel which I knew, so I ordered a $27 wide "lazy susan" TV stand on Amazon (item 191030CH has different color options) and now my TV can swivel to face the kitchen/bar when I want, and eliminates the glare from the window. So worked out perfectly. The TV is top heavy so it wobbles quite a bit if touched but not a problem so far since the swivel stand is secure and a smooth turn. The pictures is wonderful and the slim design is attractive. Audio sounds good to me - don't feel the need to order a sound bar. Thanks for all the previous reviews which answered a lot of my questions and helped me make an educated decision. About a week after I purchased, the price came down another $100 and Best Buy credited me back the difference through the chat customer service online. That was fantastic!

This TV is so fabulous. The color is so sharp and clear. Love the magic remote it does everything. We enjoy watching tv it is like being in a movie theater. You can not go wrong with LG products.

This TV is amazing for movies, gaming, the sound from the speakers are pretty good! The picture is amazing with no blur. It’s the next best thing besides Oled without the burn in to worry about. I highly recommend this TV.

The moment I saw this Nano8 displayed at best buy I fell in love with it. I was tempted to get the OLED but I was so unsure about the OLED. But this Nano 8 is very good. Sound great, picture quality excellent and linking it to my LG SL6y soundbar was the best.

Love our new TV! We are old movie buffs, I mean really old like 1930’s-1950’s and the picture quality is phenomenal! Crystal clear and so dynamic like nothing we’d seen before, love ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

The quality of our experience has been the best so far. I love all the different types of HD for watching tv and even more so , playing the PS4 pro. I also like the fact I have google assistance. The only thing I wish is it would have the capability is to screen mirror from any phone.

The picture quality of this tv is excellent. Do not need a sound bar with this tv because the sound is perfect. Sounds like in a movie theater.

Starting 2019 these tv models from LG allow AirPlay2 functionality-throw movies or audio to this tv without an appletv attached! LG has become my “go to” tv line; after buying a OLED by LG last year I’ve enjoyed the interface and LOVE the picture and value offered by LG. Worked Great with my drop down tv mount and my Sonos system. Bravo and Thanks to the Magnolia team at my Best Buy for helping me choose the system I wanted without breaking the bank!

Very Good Tv.not better picture compared to my old 10.80 . tv I’ve purchased 9 years ago .,connectivity is very good streaming is a breeze.,with a good internet service ,Love the picture frame .,feature is my sleeping time tune.You get a lot from it if you’re upgrading like I did and needed to cut down in my cable bill. Overall rating is very Good.

I replaced my 10 year old LG tv with the new 55”. This tv has perfect, crisp and vivid picture, great sound and looks sleek hanging on the wall. I would highly recommend this tv.

Bought this 55” nano cell back when virus hit. Go figure bad time for TV to crab the bed. I watch a lot of sports and TV shows and this TV is all I ask for.Its a little pricey but worth the money.

Love the clarity and the remote is easy to use. Kids can maneuver through the settings with ease. Have 2 Lg televisions in the home and they have great features and apps preloaded.
