With apologies to Clint Eastwood, this is one amazing piece of video tech. Can be set up by a cave man, and the remote it intuitive and cool to use. Fantastic up-scaling abilities and true 120htz refresh. The color programs, HDR, ect... aren't there for show. The audio is integrated smartly and sounds very good in anything but a really big room. These speakers are down-firing, so it really should be on a table of some kind. I can't say anything about the streaming, or Alexa, because I have no need for them, but with a picture like this, even commercials are watchable.

The LG Nano series of 4K TV’s are worthy options to consider if you can’t spring for the top of the line OLED technology but want some of the features that don’t come in the base models. The 55-inch 8600PUA model impressed me before I even plugged it in because it comes with a very good base that was comfortingly sturdy and easy to install. The arc-shaped base holds the set firmly while also allowing you far more options of tables or stands to hold the set than less expensive models of large TV’s that come with a pair of feet attached near the edges. Of course, you can also install the set on a wall with the VESA connectors. Nano in the name of this set refers to a technology that uses filters to make colors brighter on this series of sets. It also refers to the thinner bezels that surround the screen than those found on base models. The series comes with Dolby Vision and Atmos as well as the latest HDR technology for improved colors. The series uses zonal local dimming to enhance blacks. It goes without saying that the picture quality on the Nano series is very good. Many folks will want to hook the set to a sound system. I chose not to after I used the built-in feature that samples sound from the internal downward firing speakers using the remote control. Simple onscreen instructions walk you through this test which should be conducted from a viewing seat. The improvement to the output of the sound suggested by the set was truly notable. You are offered the option to stick with the out of box sound, accept the AI suggested output or make further adjustments to either option on your own. I slightly increased the bass on the AI adjusted sound to be more to my taste and left it at that. The internal speakers can easily fill our viewing area with adequate separation and without distortion. There are many options for adjustment to viewing tastes as well depending on the type of material: new movies or TV shows, older material, vibrancy in colors and more. This series comes with LG’s outstanding Magic Remote that is the best remote I’ve ever used. With the Nano series, the remote comes with voice control with a choice of assistants between Amazon and Google. All of these features run on LG’s WebOS which I think is the most intuitive and easy to customize smart TV OS on the market.

I upgraded from a 6 year old 50 inch 1080p LED TV. I also upgraded my 6 year old regular ps4 to a ps4 pro that I got for a great deal on the website that is also a rain forest during their "prime day" limited special flash deals. I must say that overall, it is an incredibly better picture. Red Dead Redemption 2 is kind of fuzzy though, but that is due to the game itself and their attempts at making an HD/4k experience (or so I assume). It still looks nice though. Other games really pop, that previously didn't. This includes games like WWE 2k17, Hockey from 2015, and newer games like God of War, and Assassin's Creed (the Roman one, can't think of the name right now). I also watched some blurays on it using the cinema mode and the picture quality is great! I am rewatching all the star wars in chronological order (not the order they released), and the blu rays I have from Episodes 1-3 looks amazing. I couldn't believe how much better the picture was for these older Blu Rays. I did have a little buyers remorse initially when buying both the TV (24 month no interest financing, $200 off the normal price) and the PS4 ($200 off it's normal price during the flash sale) but after using it for the various entertainments, I consider the purchase(s) well worth it. The TV has Game Mode, HDR Mode, Cinema Mode, (and some others). I had to tweak the picture settings a little (like turn off noise reduction, a motion type setting, and some others) for game mode. It saves your settings for the specific mode, but you can always reset them. I did some internet searching on the "best" way to adjust the picture settings but unfortunately I did not find any "Grand instructions"... just some basic tips list of things you can change (lower saturation, noise reduction off, and some other tweaks). The only complaint would be the boomerang type stand. It is a little oddly shaped and makes things a little more difficult. I do not use the smart features (but I did connect it to the internet to update the TV, as it needed an update), but it does seem to have Netflix and the other standard apps. The first screw when putting together the TV stand may be a bit difficult to screw in (like it feels it isn't threaded right) but once you get that first screw in, the rest go in rather easy. Remember not to put pressure on the TV screen when lifting/moving! I was incredibly careful because the instructions caution you many different times about possibly breaking the screen by doing certain things! The Best Buy rep was especially adamant about not driving this TV home hamburger style (face down/up). He absolutely insisted that you move it in an upright (hotdog style) position. I had to go get a different car just to ensure I loaded it upright instead of flat. Come prepared!

We bought an LG 55SM7300PUA for, as the NFL has forced BB to say, "The Big Game." Other than sucking and ruining our "The Big Game" experience it was even more terrible. I played some with the settings to try to get everything to work properly, but there always were problems with ghosting and lag and other things. I had wanted a Sony, but I cheaped out. My bad. We ended up returning the 7300 (and the low-end soundbar) and forked out a few hundred dollars more to try the 8-series Nano with an upgraded soundbar. This proved to be a great move. This unit has a better processor and much better picture quality and ease of use. It does take some time to get used to the magic remote. After slowing it down it was much easier to control. Voice control is also helpful, especially for web browsing. There are lots of apps for WebOS, but several are missing. VUDU is not there, and the app that would have let us watch "The Big Game" in 4K is also absent. All of the big ones, NetFlix, Prime, Hulu, and Disney+ work great. If you love OLED but you don't want to spend OLED money, this one could be for you. It met my needs. If you have OLED money, buy an OLED.

This is a very nice middle of the road led tv. LG's nano cell Led tvs have a nice bright clear and crisp picture. Sound is pretty nice as well as it supports dolby atmos. Since this tv is an edge lit tv you do get some haloing and choppy light and dark zones but its not too bad by any means. Pretty good for edge lit. Colors are very nice and bright and vivid in this set. I have it on the wall in my bedroom so it doesn't get used a whole lot. If it was one of my main tv's I would probably have stepped up to the next model that has full array dimming and backlight for those deeper blacks and contrast zones. All in all though for the price this is a pretty great tv.

Best monitor or tv for gaming at 550.

I kept going monitor when looking for a new replacement for my PC and PS4 . The Samsung VA have horrid colors and terrible back lights, as well as the Dell va and thier response time and input lag aren't any better than this tv. So the I tried some hp 32s but they had a pixel problem, colors were great tho. Tried a Asus tn but that was horrid. Finally tried 2 28 inch Samsung ips monitors but they both had pixels stuck on green. First one had 2 the second one had 1. Mind you all of them sucked as far as settings. This tv has one of the best response times and input lag I've seen on a TV, on 1440 120 hz it is 7, and 4k hdr is 14, response time is 4ms to 13 Ms. The colors on it are great, and there is a bunch of settings to make it perfect for you, over garbage monitors that give u like 4 settings and in the dells case no settings at hdr. The HDR looks good on the PS4 pro, and on windows 10 422 12bit hdr. It has so many resolutions that it can't be beat in monitor land. Want a 4k for a lower end game that isn't fast movement do it up. Need to play a moba or fps turn it to 1440 120 hz or 1080 120 hz. Colors aren't to your liking change the dynamic tone map, dynamic contrast, color temp, color, advanced color, color temp, and a hundred more settings to make it to your liking. Vs monitor that usually only has one resolution. This is definitely almost as good as oled, I had the b8. Not as good but the closest I've seen. The only people who won't like this tv is some one who puts it in a pitch black room , and thinks it should be black, because you will have minor ips glow, which is really minor on this vs hp monitors anyways. In which case a VA Vizio m quantum would be more to your liking, but that has way higher response time and input lag. As for movies if you have more than one person that watches it, and like good colors there is only ips or oled. VA you need to be directly in front of it or it loses colors.

Out of the box this TV was easy to set up and with a couple tweeks of the picture settings had it perfect for my room and needs. Love the functionality, the magic remote and the voice commands for Alexa and Google. Read and follow the directions and you will have no problem getting everything to work with your equipment. The Smart function and apps are great and we are able get everything we use. LG has continued to produce a great product with a great picture.

This thing is great, though in all honesty, i am comparing agaisnt technology that's 4+ years old, so with that said... First, Let's go over the good.. 1. Price: Great TV in the moderate price range, that won't break the bank. 2. Picture: Picture quality is absolutely amazing. Only way you're gonna get better is with OLED/QLED. But in this price range, it's really hard to beat. 3. Sound: Sound quality of the onboard speakers is so much better than i could've ever expected. 4. Setup: This thing was a breeze to set up. Got it home and had it unboxed, up and running, with the additional sound bar i purchased, all in under our right at about 30 minutes. Now, for the not so good... 1. Price: Some may consider it to be on the higher side of moderate, but considering the prices of some of its major competitors, it's not too bad. 2. Picture: Even though the picture is, too me at least, quite stunning, I'd like to see more range available in the user adjustment settings, even though the adjustment ranges are good. Especially to get that "dialed in" feel, for each consumer's specific viewing area. 3. Sound: Sound quality is actually very good, but could be a little better. This could be a cost saving measure or due to the slim profile of the unit, it might not be possible to upgrade the speakers. But that begs the question, if the sound bar speakers can deliver great sound and clarity, and with the sound bars slim profiles, it's it really that much more difficult to upgrade the onboard speakers, especially if a consumer's budget or space doesn't allow for the addition of a sound bar or other type of surround system. 4. Setup: Okay, first! Okay, well! Okay, i got nothing. This this was a breeze. As stated above, once i got home, i got it unloaded, unboxed, set up, along with the additional sound bar that i purchased, and was watching TV in about 30 minutes. All in all, considering what you get for the price, it's hard to beat. Currently set up in the living room of my current house, but when the new house is built, this system will make it to the bedroom, with a larger upgraded system for what will be the main viewing area in the new house.

I bought the LG 55' Nano 8 Series LED 4k UHD Smart TV mainly for the remote control. It has a wand feature that makes navigating on the screen easier and enjoyable. I also love the picture quality and it's easy setup and use of adding devices such as your satellite provider, DVD player and other devices. Extremely stylish and well designed!

I did research on a new tv and my original choice was a Vizio P series. The Lake Forest store had it, but they also had Nick Nelson an LG expert who agreed with me but then showed me the SM8600 and for $200 more, but what a difference, Very happy except when they delivered it, One guy was carrying it not 2 like the manufacturer and Best Buy recommends. But nothing was wrong with the tv after I set it up with a friend. Again I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

We have had this tv for 8 months and it is still working great after fairly heavy use. We really like the pointer future of the remote control and use it daily. The apps are great and easy to use too. The interface and remote are nice and intuitive. Our daughter is able to navigate to a certain extent. I was able to hook up an Xbox 360 right out of the box with the special short adapter cables the tv came with. The picture is obviously great and it worked well with Best Buy's Sanus full-motion tv mount. When we first hooked it up, I accidentally quickly flipped the power off and back on real quick and noticed that upon startup it had some suspect images, but it all turned out fine and is working great after 8 months. I would buy this tv again.

I bought this product during the independence day sale and so glad that I did!! I had to choose between this LG TV and other TV brands out there. But after some researching and physically watching the TV at the store, I had decided to purchase this model. The design and styling looks better than its competitors. The video colors and options are mesmerizing and has the right amount of balance and contrast. The built-in speakers also doesn’t disappoint even without adding a sound bar to it. It also comes with free LG channels which is very nice. The magic remote and WebOS is a joy to use and very user friendly. My only concern is that I wished LG would update the built-in web browser because it’s responsiveness is very slow and not very visually appealing. Overall, I am happy with the TV.
