Couldn't ask for a better TV for the price! Beautiful picture, awesome remote and connects to my wifi perfectly. Watching movies from my personal cloud is so easy. 4K & HDR media look fantastic! Edge-lit LED is my only dislike but not too obvious. Definitely recommend!

    Great 3D and 4K Tv

The reason why I purchased this TV was for the 3D capability mainly, as well as upgrading to 4K. I had no idea that the TV could also play whatever you were watching in 3D without it having to be 3D content, so that was a major plus for me. This auto 3D conversion compared to native 3D content (like popping in a 3D movie) comes short though, as in the images don't have that much pop out effect, however, it adds a lot more immersion into whatever it is you're watching when compared to 2D. The real 3D that it does have is even more amazing, and the 4K picture is the best picture I have seen on other TVs.

I originally bought the Sony 850A model and was disappointed that no streaming service would support it. I have waited a few years and really wanted to enjoy a 4K picture and shows as more are in this format now. After reviewing purchases I saw a new format was out, High Dynamic Range (HDR). Initially I was looking at a Sony or Samsung with HDR. Until I found out two formats for HDR exist. HDR10 and Dolby Vision. LG is the only set that has support for both formats. That made my choice easier so that my TV would be future proofed against either standard winning over the other. OLED sets are really nice but much more expensive then I wanted. This TV fell comfortably in the middle of cost, performance and specifications. I bought this online without ever having seen one in store. I absolutely love this TV. 4K is gorgeous and anything I have in 1080P looks so much better too. The only thing I would suggest is to turn off the Trumotion option. I just don't like that effect. One small limiting factor for some is the limited number of HDMI ports (3). I have 4-5 HDMI sources plugged in, but I use a Receiver so I only use 1 of the ports on the TV. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that wants a good looking and performing TV.

I'm surprised at how many positive reviews this TV has received. I previously had a 1080P LG 3D TV that recently died after 4 years. I loved that TV. It was bright, clear, and the 3D was awesome. I purchased this TV expecting similar results. I was so disappointed by how "bland" the colors are and how difficult it was to achieve a really good looking picture. Many times I would think the settings were just right until I watched a movie with dark scenes and they would just look terrible. Frankly, the contrast on this set is just terrible compared to my old LG. To top it off, I watched a baseball game and noticed I could see 3 or 4 faint "vertical "lines" every time the image panned across the green grass. It looked like I had faint lines of dust on the screen or something. After doing some reading I found out this is called "vertical banding." The only positive thing about the TV to me is the 3D. That was amazing and it was fun watching Jurassic World in 3D. Alas, the terrible contrast, especially in dark movies and video games, was just too hard to swallow. I ended up taking the TV back and purchased a Samsung 60" KS8000 model. The picture on the Samsung is 1,000 times better. It's super bright, the colors are all very realistic without any tweaking, and the contrast is superb. Frankly it looks like an OLED TV to me. The only drawback is that Samsung doesn't have 3D anymore. I will miss that, but the picture is so awesome that I will be okay living without it. In short, if you want a really mediocre picture, especially when the images are dark, but pretty good 3D, then get this TV. If you want an awesome picture that will make you happy every time you turn on your TV, then skip this one and buy the Samsung. I've purchased LG TVs for the past 4 years so it was tough to switch, but so far I have zero regrets. The KS8000 is really that much better.

Great TV for rooms with above average light levels and the built in features are fantastic. The picture quality is amazing and watching 4K is incredibly life-like. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Disappointed. An HDR TV with Terrible Black Levels

I purchased a 4K television due to it's ability to upscale normal content. Viewing 4k content through Amazon, Netflix and Hulu was just a bonus for me. This television is amazing when it comes to making regular HD look stunning. I don't know if that's due to upscalling, or the panel itself but I watched some Standard Def and regular HD and it all looked pretty stunning. The issue is the amount of light bleed on the black levels is unacceptably bad. Especially in this price range. You can see it seeping in from the edges whenever there's black background. And sometimes you even see the spots during brightly lit scenes. Normally I don't notice this type of stuff, but at times it's a little hard to ignore and like I said, if this was a $1k TV, I'd probably let it go, but at $2k, I expect a LOT more. Considering the speakers are Harmon Kardan speakers, the audio levels are low and the quality is shockingly terrible. I listened to the set a bit in the store and it sounded great, I'm now convinced the guy lied to me and it was actually running through the soundbar. This is why I hate dealing with Best Buy sales reps, they don't know anything and the store displays never work. Frustrating. The "Magic" motion controlled remote wasn't at all easy to use and the big cursor that would pop up whenever I tried to do something drove me crazy. I wish there was a way to turn off the motion controls. All the reviews raved about Web OS 3.0, but I found it a bit irritating finding anything on my menu and the motion controls didn't help any. Some of the apps where buggy. I didn't like having a long list of tiles at the bottom that I had to scroll through to get anything. I don't think I can recommend this TV. At times the picture is truly stunning, but the light bleed on the black levels defeats the whole primary point in getting an HDR tv.
