Customers are saying
Customers consistently note the excellent picture quality and ease of use of this 60" Class 4K Ultra HD Smart TV. Many appreciate the smart remote and the TV's sleek design, while some users point out backlight inconsistencies in darker scenes. The HDR functionality also receives positive feedback, although a few mention needing adjustments for motion clarity. Overall, the positive comments on picture quality and ease of use outweigh the concerns about backlight and motion settings.

I've had this TV for 3 years and

Awesome TV to go with that PS4/PS4 PRO
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking at tvs for a while and always wanted a 4K tv. Finally decided to get one and like most of us looking at the reviews based on price and size. We were using an LG 3D tv that still is awesome, but after Sony announced they were coming out with the PS4 PRO and that all PS4's would have HDR unleashed, I decided it was time. Well of course the tv had to be HDR 10 and I was going to go with a 55". (Keep in mind in store that not all tv's have settings that are set up properly.) So off to Bestbuy and saw the Samsung...saw the Sony...saw the LG. LG is one of the only mfgs to offer both HDR10 and Dolby Vision with their Super UH TV's. It really came down to price. I wasn't going to spend $2000 -$10,000 on OLED (They are sweet though). The Sony was almost $2000 and the Samsung looked very pretty at about $1700. Hisense had a tv for $700, but not really sure about that brand. So it came down to the LG. The LG UH7700 had everything I wanted. it was 60", had the picture (in the store it was dimmer than the 8500 series) was 4k, smart tv and the price was right. At the time Bestbuy had it on sale the day before, but ended that night. I was able to price match with Amazon and got it for the sale price. I will say this...hooking this up to a ps4 and putting something like Uncharted 4 it was like wow. You could see the detail. I put on Netflix and upgraded the plan to include 4K...WOW...did YouTube 4K...you will be amazed with the picture and the sound is good with those Harmond speakers. When you are watching it, you don't even really notice the silver frame (don't let that be a deal breaker. This is the tv you want for the gaming you play that will not break the bank.

5 stars for best value = price & performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply put best picture, sound and OS for the $$ and reliability so far one month. Read many reviews that said blacks were not black enough or not enough contrast as compared to Samsung, please take your time with the settings, go further in the menu and adjust. It took me about 3 days to get it to my liking. Remember for each source you may need different mode (for cable etc. I have on Standard, and so on), 4k from Youtube vs. 4k player there is a difference ...give the set few days (like a week) for burn-in/break-in ..yes there is such a thing with all electronics ..the picture does get better. Once again for my 60 inch with 4K and Dolby Vision, HDR, smart and user friendly OS ...all for $1K AMAZING.

REPAIR HEADACHE!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must say I was very impressed wth the TV once it was set up, and I was able to navigate around its features via its operating system. Picture quality is amazing especially when viewing the 4K series offered through Netflix. Now in my 9th month after purchase, I came home to a blank screen. Pretty insane considering it's not even a year old yet. The headache came about when trying to schedule a repair date with LG since it's still under their warranty. They have a 48 hour window for which you have to wait and hope someone calls you to schedule a date and time to repair it after making the initial contact with their Customer Service Center. That was 96 hours ago! For a Company as large as LG, you would think that they provided better customer service, and support in this area. Unlike a washing machine, a television is not something you use once a week on average. Buy at your own risk and hopefully yours last longer than mine. Can't say for certain I'll keep it once it has been repaired, if it can be repaired. A Very Unhappy Camper and Super Disappointed in LG's Service!

Great TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent picture quality! I researched and read reviews on many different tvs. The professional reviews for this tv weren't the best but I'm glad I went in the store to see the tv so I could compare it to others. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Amazing Bright Colors, trouble with dark scenes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When viewing bright colorful scenes and images, the image clarity is simply mind blowing! Netflix 4k content looks stunning, games on Xbox One are crisp with no perceptible lag between screen and controller (using preset "Game" mode). I had some trouble with getting consistent back lighting, especially when subtitles were on screen. Even after fussing with the picture settings, running calibration test patterns, I frequently could see the individual panels being illuminated. Full disclosure, I am rather inexperienced with calibrating HDTVs so this problem may be entirely my own fault. I am positive a skilled calibration would reduce or eliminate this problem. That being said, I decided to return this unit in favor of an OLED screne. OLED is WAY more expensive, but no need to worry about lighting inconsistencies.

Its good, but not that good.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great overall UHD TV. Especially considering the OS and ease of use with the magic remote. Everything should be making the jump to this kind of interaction with the interface. So if you are worried about the OS and interaction, then LG's are for you. As for the TV itself and picture quality. Not much more than a resounding "okay" can be said. First off, upon inspection, the front physical "screen" is separated from the actual panel. This leads to a weird projection like effect, where the color is represented on the "inside" panel, about a half inch or more inside the frame. So close viewing you get a black border around the entire TV. Which to be honest, sucks. Especially when one of the draws of these high density resolutions (4K) is closer viewing ability with no loss in quality. And to make it even more ironic, LG always pushes their IPS panels with "Wide viewing angle" I understand it's in terms of color and brightness, but I find it funny that this quark of the TV's design prevents perfect "wide viewing angles" without distraction. Second, the color is so hard to get looking natural. It's either too vivid or some weird in between. Its a mess to be honest. The presets are all over the place and working with color guides and changing things around has somewhat mitigated it, but not much. The 4K picture - Overall the 4K picture is amazing. Super sharp and detailed (obviously it's 4K) But all 4K as of now looks amazing because it's just such a dense resolution. so for color, again, the main drawback, being the terrible design of the TV / Panel inset. NOTHING pops off this screen. It is terribly plain and flat. This is because the panel is inset a half inch behind the actual screen! I really don't understand why they did this. When compared to an equivalent S**y or S**s*ng their images bleed right off the edge of the screen to the bezel. Full HD content - again even 1080P content looks good, with the up scaling it looks rather nice. Although I have noticed, this TV will only upscale already high quality 1080 content. I have a S**y 4K that does it's best with every source, and it does amazingly so to be honest. But again, just nothing pops off this screen. So yeah I'm rather upset I spent $1700 on this, then I had to leave state for a month before even getting to inspect the TV. So I was not able to return it or exchange it. Very upset at this. If a rep sees this and is able to help me out, please do! I still have the stickers and plastic protective pieces on the tv.

Worst Purchase I have ever made
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the set worked fine for a year or so, then in the middle of a program it would lose internet connection. I have three televisions in my home and the other sets never lost connection. You have to do all kinds of tricks to try to get the connection back. Change location from US to Canada in the setting, reboot, . and you might get lucky. It goes in streaks , it might work for a week, then you might go a week and loose connection nightly , or perhaps multiple times in a night. We are going to dump it and never touch an LG product again.

Disappointing Picture Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture quality was very disappointing. Poor edge lit backlighting with issue with very gray blacks, flashlighting during dark scenes, and very bright spots in the back lighting. Returned for a Samsung KS8000 and much happier with the picture. If your budget allows go with the Samsung. I did like the Web OS smart interface, but that was about it.

Not worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV setup is poor as it keeps losing wifi setup and has to reset, new software download and changed one of the default set up from factory. Wasted 1 hour with Tech Support. Then the picture quality is much worse than my old Pioneer Kuro Plasma. Could not set the color to a realistic level, backlight leaks on one corner, not bright enough in day time and overall bad experience. Used 1080, 4K and 4K HDR programs before returning it for a Samsung HDR TV (KS8000) for $600 more. So much better. Power up everything works and color is almost right. A few changes and it's good enough. I don't work for Samsung.

Do NOT BUY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.NOT HAPPY I bought the 2014 model of this 60" LG tv.. Beautiful picture. Loved the tv until in June 2016 the picture started getting black lines across the screen now the right side of the TV is black! I called customer support. They say it was not covered by warranty! The TV is less then two years old!! It was manufactured in July of 2014. I was not impressed with their customer service! I would not recommend this TV to anyone go with another brand!

backlighting is SOOO bad
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave it 1 week and hours of adjusting but this tv has a terrible picture due to the backlighting and brightness. Dark movie scenes were too dark but normal scenes were too bright. I finally did get a pretty nice picture in a dark room but daytime viewing in a bright room - ha...forget it! I had a plasma for 6 years so I was spoiled by awesome black levels. I returned this today and got the sony 65xbr850d and so far its MUCH better. I will update this review once I see the sony in a bright room.

Not a good picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was time to update my Living room TV so I started my research. My requirements where 55in and above, 4K 240hz,& with a budget of $1700. I came across this TV online and when I went to the store the TV "specialist spoke highly of this TV. At the store of course it look great but that is never enough to me. I read multiple reviews and it was 60/50 my gut was to not buy the TV but I wanted my new TV asap. I settled for this TV and it was clearly a HUGE mistake. It had all The requirements and got 60in, since the second I turned on the TV I was like UGH. The picture is garbage! Dark, dull, boring, lack of color. It was noticeably dark and just not as expected. I am not a rookie with TVs, I did multiple try's at adjustments but it never looked good. The deal breaker which made me pack it all up and return it was when I turned on Netflix put on daredevil for some 4K quality and it was BAD! The picture was pixelated, you would see little pixels around the actors face. I returned it with no problem and got myself a SAMSUNG KS8000. AMAZING picture!!! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THAT ONE REVIEW THAT WILL TOP IT OFF AND HELP YOU MAKE YOUR CHOICE IT IS THIS ONE. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TV.
