Love it, cut the cable TV

I got this TV last night, set it up in 30 minutes. It's different because of the Roku platform built in. I never used Roku and may never use it, but love the menus. Read the reviews and took the risk. Worth every penny and then some. This TV has a great picture (65 inch) right out of the box, and connects right to the wireless router (FIOS). That alone is worth the price of admission. Then you get a Roku setup screen and a very simple remote control. After setup and connections it rocks. This is the best GUI (Graphical User Interphase) I've ever used. Kudos to Roku. I looked up the system by model number after I bought it and see that it's an experiment for LG testing the blend of LG hardware and Roku software. I love it. You can see how you can move right on without any cable. Something I've wanted to do for years. And that alone would be (again) would be worth the price of admission! How much will you save by canceling your cable? I had to try this because of the price and was ready to take it right back, but it's a keeper. Moved my 3 year old LG 60 inch plasma into the bedroom. I got it last night for $799, today it's listed at $899 today (Dec 27th) , but still a deal. Questions that remain to be answered, I had to put my credit card number in Roku to start this thing up,. Does that mean I'm being charged from day one? I don't think so because I checked a box that said I would be asked for a PIN number before I incur any charges. I feel that I just got a look at the future of TV and I really like what I see. I'll try to write a follow up to this as needed. But if your looking at this and not sure because of the reviews, just do it. It won't last long. You CAN take it back, but you won't. Verizon get ready for the call...

Bought this TV after seeing the awesome price during super bowl. TV has extremely clean pictures quality with awesome perks of smart TV to connect my Netflix, Roku and etc. Setup for any of this applications are extremely easy. TV is very light for its size, i was able to carry the TV myself to put in on top of the TV stand, eventually we hung on the wall and looks absolutely sleek.

We were on the market for large TV. Minimum acceptable size was 55". Went to Best Buy to watch and compare image of different TVs from different brands. VIZIO and other TVs from cheap companies had significantly worse image than TVs from brands like LG or Samsung, so the choice was much easier. This 65" was real bargain for 800 USD. Image is perfect. Easy to set up. Sound is also very good - missing bit of subs, but still very good. We like the small remote, menu is fast. We like this TV so far.

This is a beautiful TV. It has the benefits of not only a pristine viewing picture presentation that your eyes will immediately fall in love with, but also the capabilities of being a smart tv with Roku thrown in for good measure. Roku is similar to the amazon firestick tv and will give you access to all the add on apps than you can imagine from Netflix to Amazon Prime. LG provides amazing quality TV's at a pocket friendly price and this unit is no exception. You will love this tv and what it has to offer your living room!

Pros: The picture is bright and sharp... after buying this I realized that my older Sharp TV was quite dull! The built in Roku means one less device to hook up. The Roku remote is nice and compact. The optical out transmits Dolby 5.1 - this is really nice because my Bose audio system does not have an HDMI in and not all TVs output 5.1 audio on the optical out. Cons: If I plug in my bluetooth headset transmitter into the analog audio out port, it cuts the digital audio. This means everytime I want to use my headset, I need to walk over and fiddle with cables behind the TV. LG should let both audio streams run simultaneously, I can always use the mute on the remote.

I read all about 4K before buying a new TV to replace one that was slowly failing. After deciding that we sit way too far away from our TV to be able to physically see a difference between 4K and 1080 HD, I decided to save a bunch of money and stick with regular old 1080. Someone in the store tried to caution me about the 60 hz refresh rate on this unit before I bought it, and I'll tell you that it has never bothered me once. Our old TV was 60 hz and the only unit I've watched more than a minute or two that had a higher refresh rate, the high refresh rate drove me nuts and I really didn't like it. To each their own I guess. I really like the small remote with quick Netflix button and the smart TV features. The picture is great to me and this felt like a fantastic bang for the buck. We love this television!

We bought 2 of these in different sizes for use in a rental property. The hope was that we would be able to provide a good guest experience without cable. Wow. This is an impressive TV. The UI is simple. The picture quality is fantastic. It was easy to set up and it is even easier to use. I am looking for an excuse to get one for home. Great product. Highly recommend.

2nd day having TV up and running. LOVE IT! Only draw back is the remote. REMEMBER it is only a ROKU remote you receive with the tv. Purchase a universal so you will be able to punch numbers in. If not, you can only scroll up and down for channels. Great price and great picture!

This TV is the replacement for my 62" Mitsubishi DLP TV which lasted nearly 10 years. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the placement of the built in speakers provide poor sound quality. I purchased an LG sound bar with a wireless sub woofer which was an excellent add-on to complete this theater package. I read all the reviews for this TV and placed the order for it on line. I decided to go to the store that same day to have a look at the picture and do a comparison between it and the newer 4K technology. While the picture quality of a 4K TV provides a bit better detail and smoother black and grey, it would be nearly impossible to notice unless the 4K is next to the 1080i LG and you are doing a frame by frame comparison. The built in ROKU is a value added plus making this TV an even better deal. The WIFI is another great feature. This 65" LG TV will not leave you disappointed!

I wanted a larger picture size. This 65" fit the bill. I didn't jump into the 4K world yet, so this 1080p HDTV works out well for me. It has a Good Picture & Smart Features. I am already familiar with Roku, so that was easy to set-up and use. I use this for Xbox games, OTA HDTV, Blu-ray Movies & Streaming Movies. In a couple years, the prices for 4K will come down, then I will make the switch to UHD.

I was wary of this TV due to some of the elitist reviews I read online, but I jumped on it due to the price (got it for $716 out the door). The TV is smash hit in my family! Picture quality is outstanding and the smart TV Roku interface is awesome! My wife was shocked at how nice this was compared to our older 50inch LG Plasma that this replaced. I highly recommend this TV. It was a great buy! Gaming and Netflix are great!

I already had roku boxes for my other tvs, so it made sense to buy this one, plus I got it for a really great price. And a week later the price dropped $50 more, and I got that refunded back to me in a few weeks. The TV is easy to use, has a great picture, and I'm really happy with it.

I'm very pleased with this TV, the picture is quite nice (not as bright as a comparable Samsung) but I'm very satisfied with it. ROKU interface is a nice plus although I suppose you could also just as easily purchase a ROKU device for fifty bucks and hook up to any TV. My main complaint is that you can only connect to your home network via wifi. While that may be the preferred method for many users, I would at least like the option to connect directly via ethernet (which will give you a stronger, more reliable connection to the internet than wifi).

The picture is exceptional for a 60hrz tv, and very good for every day tv watching. But, fast motion is not great. It's good, just not great. Tried exchanging it for the 4K 120hrz, but it wasn't available. Again, great tv for the price I paid, it makes an excellent master bedroom tv.

Bought this for my uncle who wanted to upgrade his tv. The roku system that drives this tv makes it easy to use. The remote is similar to a roku remote and feels like a toy. Over all a good tv to use for older people/generation or anyone that is not tech savy.
