Many appreciate the ease of setup and user-friendly remote control, along with the value for the price. Nice picture but reliability and 3D flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture quality is excellent but a lot of cross talk in subtitles in 3D mode. That is very annoying and I have found no way to remedy that. Depending on subtitle placement on the screen and the movie itself the subtitles can beclear, but often there is a double image. Not a big deal if you are not hearing impaired I suppose and don't need them. After 10 months a vertical green line has suddenly developed on the left side of the screen for the entire panel height. The 65" panel is to be replaced this week under the 1 year manufacturer warranty. I have never had a line appear like this on any LCD TV I have ever owned. So reliability could be better in my view. Had to call LG Customer Service twice to get the repair scheduled as the first rep did not know the procedure. He had me call the repair shop and instead it is LG that must contact the repair facility not the consumer. If you can afford it I would suggest going with the 65" OLED LG version. But in either case be sure to get an extended warranty for this expensive tech.

Great TV! 3d... so so
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I decided to use my Tax refund frivolously this year and wanted another TV. I have a lot of 3d blu-rays so I wanted to get another 3d TV since this will probably be the last year they are available. After browsing best buy and several other sites, I came to this TV which at the time was 1500. There were some talk about the back-light bleed, and once I got it home I tested it out. First off it does have back-light bleed, where if there is anything bright in a black area it lights the whole black area around it (especially noticeable when you use the Magic remote cursor) But unless you fork out 2x the money for an OLED that is expected. I have 3 led tvs and in my experience (which to be honest I am not an expert) all of them do that. On the flip side the Picture is gorgeous, and that is without trying any 4k content on it yet! The up-scaling is great and the picture does have several settings which can make it look better in your living room ( my two favorites are IPS dark room - which adjusts it so everything isn't so bright while watching in the dark. And of course the HDR picture setting - which consistently gives a good picture.) Also the smart TV function works pretty well. Netflix and other Apps look great and it even sees my media server when it is connected, So i don't have to select inputs or jump through hoops to listen to music or movies. One last caveat - the 3d. I paid $200 more for 3d and this time wanted glasses that didn't take batteries or dim the picture noticeably (which my Samsung does). Once I got it set up I noticed that there is only a small "sweet spot" where the 3d effect is good. Otherwise at the top of the picture or the bottom of the picture the 3d effect does not happen depending on where you are sitting. If I want full 3d I have to sit on top of my couch, That is the only reason I am giving it 4 stars since the 3d is integral to this TV. If you get the non 3d version I would probably give it a full 5.

Fantastic 4K TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is getting harder to find tvs with 3D, but this tv has it all: 4K, HDR, and 3D. The tv is huge but not overbearing. The picture is fantastic. I don't see any light bleed at all. Highly recommended.

Light bleeding
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would be a nice TV but it has too much light bleed ,this is my third time exchanging this model. It looks good if your watching in a well lit environment with lots of light , in the dark you will see a lot of light bleeding also there is ghosting when something is white on a dark screen or you are watching a movie with the black bars at the top and bottom .The 3d is nice also the sound is good coming from such a thin TV .I really wanted to like this TV but I don't think it's worth the money .There are cheaper tv that perform a lot better.Im going to exchange it again for the third time to see if I can get a good one .This is real frustrating !when you have to keep taking back a a 65" TV

Excellent!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely LOVE this TV. I only was concerned about the 3d when I realized the Movie Theatre glasses I kept and brought home were NOT completely compatible with this unit. I sprang for the passive glasses available for this unit and couldn't be happier.

One major flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You have to stand next to the tv to turn it off or on with the remote. Not sure why it is so difficult - even with new batteries. Would like it to go off or on with my xbox or cable box - but the tv is unique. You can use those REAL 3D glasses from the movie theater to watch 3D TV here.

Disappointed....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 65UH8500 we received has significant light bleeding, banding and clouding. The upper left-hand corner of the screen has the most bleeding, which looks as if someone left a night light on. It is visible in moderately dark scenes, not just when the screen is suppose to be black. Very poor quality control on LG's part. Overall, this set exhibits satisfactory to below expected contrast ratio, exactly as discussed on professional reviews. On the positive side, the color and resolution are excellent, as are the built-in apps, wifi connectivity and screen control functionality. The TV has a fast processor resulting in no noticeable lag when using apps. The build quality and materials used are good, but certainly no in the same league as our LG OLED which we also own. In terms of sound quality, the volume can be increased without distortion and is loud enough to fill a large room. However, the placement of the internal speakers hampers fidelity, as they are not pointed at those viewing the TV. We will be replacing this defective set with another one. Hopefully the next one will not have a major light bleed on one corner of the screen. I am unsure whether I would recommend this set to anyone. You may have better luck.

Awesome 4K TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 65' is big, beautiful and incredibly easy to use. Great 4K picture and fast working apps, great remote overall wonderful accessibility. Not a 5 star perfect TV because of obvious backlight bleeding. But awesome TV!

My best buy at Best Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you run through the filters when looking at 4K HDR TVs [65"] you will end up with 6 choices the other 5 TVs are Magnolias with twice the price tag. So good value for the money and a great picture and sound and the ability to use my sound system for movies or anything else where you want deeper bass etc.

GREAT TV FOR THE PRICE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd been keeping my eye on this TV for weeks! So happy I made the purchase. Great picture quality. One of the few TV's that actually has 3D picture that doesn't hurt your eyes. BUY THIS TV

Nice TV couple shortcomings
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this TV for the price after considering all the other options in this price range even a little above it. In a dark room the local dimming is not that great. It creates vertical bands that can be seen when a light color is displayed on a dark background such as a mouse pointer on a black screen. It is not noticeable during movies so I can deal with it. Turning local dimming off is also an option that would remedy the problem. TV is also not a full 10bit panel but is an 8bit panel that is almost 10bit by using dithering. That is important for HDR content you don't get quite the full color gamut as a full 10 bit panel like the UH9500 or some other TV's. Besides those little gripes I am happy with the set and will keep it.

Great picture!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We researched all TVs with the same features and LG surpassed our expectations!!! Great picture, even when watching regular DirecTV channels or Redbox movies. When in 3D or 4K mode...the picture is PHENOMINAL!!!! We also appreciate the non-glare and excellent view from all angles in our living room! Great purchase!

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV was delivered on April 8, 2016. This television has an excellent picture right out of the box. Very easy to set up and program remote to all my home theater equipment. Excellent 3D quality, as a matter of fact, I think it's better than at a movie theater. The only picture adjustment that I was made was with the TruMotion setting to avoide the "soap opera" effect. The color and resolution clarity of this tv is amazing.

Bad light bleed/ screen not uniform
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll try to keep this short. Right out of the box with the first black set-up screens you notice gray blotches in a supposedly all black background. On my example, the left side of the screen is noticeably brighter/ blotchier than the right. The black bars top & bottom on movies have obvious, random gray patches. The good: Very bright TV, nice remote and user interface, decent 3D with the passive glasses. If you predominantly watch in a well-lit room, you may be perfectly happy with this, but for me the inconsistent blacks (grays) are a deal breaker.

Good but not an OLED
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the 65 inch model and just like the other review, I too thought it was the next best thing after an oled TV. If you're like most normal ppl who can enjoy a movie or show without really looking for detail and or the perfect contrast and all those other little things that make an OLED TV better..than stick with this TV. Trust me if it was a Full Panel light TV it be the best, but it's not..it's edge lit so unfortunately you aren't gonna get those deep blacks but again other than that for a normal person who ain't into the rest of the mumbo jumbo stuff it's a great TV/future proof. I ended up exchanging it for a 55 EF9500 Oled Tv as it was a few more bucks for it... but it was Quality over Size for me. Even with the Oled I still miss it and it's bigger screen at times lol, that and it's WebOS 3.0..it's a bit better than the 2.0 that's on my OLED.
