    Great TV

I, like many others did quite a bit of research before buying their next TV. I still have my 47" LG LED TV that was still going strong but wanted to go 4k. I am a bit biased towards LG, having owned 2 that lasted many years and were well built. I wasn't sure I wanted such a large (65") TV at first, however in many cases 60" don't exist and are more expensive. I appreciate the whole package of the LG TV, user interface, features, picture, sound and value. The user interface and Magic remote included are awesome! Very snappy and easy to use. Actually I find it fun to navigate around waving the remote. All the usual features/apps are there and items are easily customized. I like being able to customize the recent items, add/remove apps and made connecting my BR Player, TV Box, and Gaming console a breeze. Was down to a single remote in 5 minutes! The picture is the only piece I'm still tweaking to get perfected. I've landed on tweaking the "Standard" setting a bit. Then on certain programs I might switch to "Sports" mode which is easy to do. I will not say this LG is better than the Samsung KS8000 series. I just went LG since I prefer the brand, like the features/interface, quality and got it for a few hundred cheaper than the Samsung model. Another point worth noting if I was to buy again. Buy the TV first, get it home and watch it for a week. If the sound is just horrible then go get a soundbar. I got the LG soundbar/sub with this and like it, but made the mistake of not trying it w/o to know the difference.

I spent the last month looking for the best 4K TV at the best price and I found it. Yes the picture is great, the sound is good, set up is easy and the remote is amazing but the best thing is the anti-glare screen. All the other models have a super glossy shinny mirror like screen which is the most annoying to see lamps and other bright object like windows on the screen instead of the game. Maybe you can get a better set but you will have to pay more.

I bought this tv after doing months and months of research. I looked at the Samsung KS8000, Vizio P series, and Sony X930, LG OLEDS etc... I wanted big and at a good deal. I practically lived at BB watching tvs. I have a LG 47" 1080p tv that is still running strong after 8 years. I was excited to jump into the 4k territory. This Tv is just amazing on all aspects. The black levels are stunning the audio is amazing and the picture is out of this world. 4K content is jaw dropping. This tv is awesome and at a great deal I couldn't pass it up. I even took away the soundbar we had with our old tv, because the tv speakers sound that good.

LG puts this TV ahead of the pack!

I’m upgrading from a Vizio 50” 3D 1080p television (which is a very nice TV). I felt it was time to take the plunge into 4K. I did my homework and knew my price range. I wanted to stick with 3D (I for one actually enjoy watching 3D movies at home), but 3D would have cost another $300 with this line). I was debating between the LG 65UH7700 and a Bravia 65” 4K. I saw both of them in the store first hand, and just thought the LG had a better picture and handled motion a lot better. Getting it home, make sure there are two people to carry this box inside, to de-box it, and to mount the base and stand it up. Instructions are well noted to not flex the TV, else it could break. Setup was easy. The Magic remote is pretty cool. For those who have never used a Magic remote, it works like a mouse pointer to where you project from the remote a pointer on to your TV to use to navigate on the screen (within menus and within apps). I actually have difficulty trying to hold the pointer in place and clicking on something; when I do, the pointer moves at the last second and I end up clicking outside the area I wanted to click on. To the rescue is the “LG TV Plus” app (Android and Apple). Install this app on your mobile device, and your device turns into a full-featured remote. The only reason you’ll need your Magic remote after that is really to power the TV on (but I think you can even change that within the TV’s settings). You pair your device with your TV (both have to be on the same network (i.e. your home network)) which is very easy. You can then use your device’s touch screen to navigate the pointer on your TV’s screen. LG’s app store is somewhat limited: the typical streaming and weather apps along with a couple of unique games. I wish this TV had Google TV built in (the Sony did), but that’s okay that it doesn’t. I can easily project my Android’s (Galaxy S4) full screen to my TV (using my phone’s built-in Miracast). That way, anything I do on my phone shows up on the screen. Again, this is happening across your home’s network/wifi. There is a tiny bit of latency (perhaps this is not an issue with newer mobile devices; my S4 is old!). There are other ways to get Android TV on to your LG (or any TV that has HDMI), such as a Mi Box device or running RemixOS on a PC that’s hooked up to your TV or a Remix Mini device. My HD antenna channels show up okay. I was actually not impressed with this. HD antenna channels looked better on my old Vizio. Upscaling and fitting to 65” I think pixelates the broadcast video. For a TV that has 240 Hz refresh rate, I expected very smooth movement. It just doesn’t do anything for me. Some channels seem to be worse than others. I sit about 20 feet from the TV. The menus and apps are all made to accommodate 4K. They show up well, nice, and crisp. Streaming 4K via YouTube is nice. This will burn up your bandwidth. Just beware if you start getting notices from your internet service provider about reaching or going over your monthly allowances on bandwidth consumption/download limits. I have video files that are 4K, and all I do is simply copy them to a jump drive and plug the jump drive into the LG’s USB ports. The 65UH7700 has three USB ports including one that supports 3.0. This is very nice! Make sure you have a 3.0 USB jump drive or external storage device though. Else, you’re not taking advantage of the speed that 3.0 offers. This is somewhat critical, because if you’re playing 4K video off a USB jump drive (or external hard drive), then you want to make sure the device is USB 3.0 compliant and to plug this device into the LG’s 3.0 USB port. 4k video files are large…really large! A native 4k 2-hour video could end up being about 40 to 50 GB in size. To play a 4K video, you want to make sure that you’re able to pull data from the storage device fast…else, you may notice some hiccups in playback quality. And the absolute best thing about this TV’s USB ports is that they allow you to access USB storage that has been formatted using NTFS. Older and even new TVs (and wow, even the PS4 Pro) support only devices formatted using FAT32). When a device is formatted (i.e. using Windows) in FAT32, the most capacity that any device reading it is 32 GB; and the largest file size is 4 GB. Again, when 4K videos end up being much larger than this, you need to be able to support storage devices that are formatted in NTFS. With NTFS, file sizes can be as large as 16 TB! So, hat’s off to LG for supporting NTFS-formatted external storage devices! So, the primary reason for getting this TV was to show off my PS4 Pro. I’m happy to say that literally days ago, LG came out with an update that makes this TV perfectly compatible with the latest firmware release of the PS4 Pro. There were some lingering issues prior to this LG firmware release, but everything has now been resolved. The TV really shows off the PS4 Pro well. I understand that there are no PS4 (nor Xbox One) games that are done in true native 4K, but PS4 Pro does support HDR and plays games in 2k. The games themselves must be made to show in these higher resolutions. (That’s another review for another day!). Overall, an awesome TV. Bought the 65UH7700 for $1299 along with 2-year Geek Squad. I feel like this was a great investment. I can literally watch hours on end some of the 4K nature content that’s on YouTube. I do hope that more movies are eventually released in 4K. If you purchase it, remember to keep those updates up-to-date (either manually or automatically). I do appreciate LG for putting out that PS4 Pro fix in such a timely manner, showing that they back their customers who have already made a significant investments.

So I returned the Samsung 65 inch 6300 for a SONY 65 inch 750D which I again returned for an LG 65 inch 7700. I'm finally happy. CNN HD is back to how it used to be (or probably a little better)

I went into Best Buy to look at the Vizio M70 tv but the in-store display wasn't working at that time. So I looked at the LG 65UH7700 and the colors looked great. The LG rep was there and he convinced me to get this tv instead of the Vizio. I tried the LG tv for two weeks and I was very disappointed about the overall picture quality. The TV had noticeable vertical white bands on the middle and right side of the screen which I could not stand. Blur and judder was a problem when watching sports specially football. Brightness is excellent on this TV specially when watching it during the day with open windows. The TV is terrible for watching movies at night and or in daylight. Sorry LG but even for the price it wasn't worth sacrificing picture quality in my opinion. So I decided to spend a little extra and swapped it for the Samsung UN65KS8000.

I read lot of reviews on 4K TVs for Sony, LG, Samsung and few others. Aster going thru many reviews and TV specifications, I had made up my mind on buying Sony 850D. But When I visited the Best Buy store and the attendant explained to me the features and showed me the Sony and this LG TV, I could not believe the difference. There was no doubt in my mind I would be buying this TV after that! Any one looking to buy 4K TVs I would recommend them to visit a store and compare the TVs instead of relying just on reviews and ordering online.

This TV is absolutely amazing! Got it as a last minute buy and I have to say that we have not been disappointed yet. The picture is crystal clear, sound is great, the smart capabilities are out of this world! You can watch and play anything on this TV... Hulu, Amazon Prime video, Netflix, Vudu, Google Play movies, MLBTV.com... the list goes on! The settings are advanced, you are able to fine tune everything as well as put parental controls straight on the TV not just your provider. Not to mention that is connects and talks to all smart LG products AND will connect to smart phones that have MiraCast capabilities! Im telling you, SO much fun playing with this TV!!!!!!

I bought this TV in-store before I read any of the reviews online and honestly if I had read the reviews 1st I might have not bought it... BUT I'm so happy I did. It has great picture quality. Good sound without having to purchase a soundbar. And I love the live tv magnify feature and how easy it is to switch from HDMI1 to HDMI2. I would recommend this if you are looking for a big screen.

The TV has a great quality picture and the sound is amazing for a flat panel TV. The additional features such as magic remote and LG webOS is pretty smooth and feature packed. The tv does share similar issues with every other comparable TV it's size and that's blooming. In predominantly Dark scenes there is a little wash out, but as I have found in my research so do all the other TVs similar to its class. If you want perfect dark scenes then I suggest you look at OLED tvs, but you will be paying almost twice the amount of money for one. The TV has advanced setting that optimize its clarity and richness of picture, to include the dark scenes, that fixed much of the washing and blooming effect. The step by step guide can be found at the following website: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/uh7700/settings. Bottom line is the TV is great and I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Very good quality picture, very good value. LG rocks! The tv itself is beautiful and the pictures on screen are gorgeous. I did tweak the picture settings to get the picture I wanted to make the experience even better. I used the settings that Consumer Reports used in the testing of this particular TV. I'm just simply blown away. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you Best Buy and LG. I love my new TV! I highly recommend this TV
