I got home to find that this type of TV has an "acceptable" amount of light bleeding around the edges. I'm not sure if some people just don't notice it, or don't care, but in dark scenes there is a bright bleeding around all edges of white light coming through. My particular unit also had something called "flashlighting" going on. The top left and bottom right corners had a large yellowish spot. Looked like someone was behind the set holding a maglite to it. Returned this TV immidiately.

This TV is not the best 4k HDR TV out there. What it is though is an extremely awesome TV for the money. Great picture, good smart apps built in. Just absolutely love it. The only picture adjustment i did was to turn off the smooth motion. The soap opera effect was driving me nuts. This TV rocks on blu-ray, 1080i via directv looks awesome and if you can stream 4k, the picture is mind blowing. Really happy with this TV for the price. Can't comment on the sound since I use a receiver setup. But had it about a month and for under a grand it provides allot of bang for the dollar. Also love the looks when it is sitting off and yes it is Yuggge!

It's funny how some of these people are downing LG when Vizio Samsung all use older technology than LG do the finger test when you touch a LG tv screen nothing will happen now do the same with the other brands and watch the rainbow your finger makes it's due to outdated technology if you don't believe me do the research and find out for yourself. This LG tv is the best TV ever sharp pictures looks like you can reach out and touch the people on the TV great color I bought the 55 inch and the 65 inch and would buy another LG is truly the best I highly recommend you get LG.

I will start with stating that the TV picture will only bee as good as the cables used to hook it up. I didn't realize how out-dated my HDMI cables had gotten in just a few years. Initially, I was disappointed with the picture quality from my 1080p HD cable box into my new 4k tv. I expected a little quality loss since the 4k would bring out imperfections in lesser signals. I had hoped that the upscale would minimize this, but live sports looked horrible. The picture grain was bad. I was even thinking of returning the TV. However, I started seeing that people were upgrading their HDMI cable to the newer 4k certified types that are rated for HDMI 2.0 with bandwidth up to 18 Gbps or better. I was using some older HDMI, that were also 25ft through the wall and only rated for 12 Gbps. While this was ok for 1080p I guess it was not up to par with the new 4k tv. Length of the cable could also be the issue too. As soon as I plugged in the new HDMI cable I knew immediately the picture looked amazing! I had doubts it would change the picture that much, but wow did it ever. I can notice the upscaling working hard also, as even 1080 HD signals look awesome! Here are the list of Gotcha's that you'll need to address if upgrading to a 4k TV: 1. Ensure HDMI cable is rated high enough, also avoid using HDMI cable greater than 20ft if you can help it. The signal degrades if longer than that unless some kind of booster is used. 2. Ensure your Audio/Video receiver (if applicable) supports HDMI 2.0 or greater. Seriously this one is huge as it could bottleneck the whole setup. My receiver only went up to HDMI 1.4, so I got rid of it and got a newer HDMI switcher instead. I'll now be using a sound bar setup into the TV for my audio. All in all, this will minimize my entire setup so I see it as a win. 3. Ensure you specify the HDMI port that will process a true 4k signal. This LG tv seems to require specification in the advanced picture settings on whether the HDMI 1, 2, or 3 will be using the new 4k signal/standard. If you are plugging in a 1080 cable box or other HD device that doesn't do true 4k UHD, then don't bother with this. 4. While the LG WebOS is nice, it's still not as fast of some of the newer streaming devices such as Amazon TV or Roku. Amazon and Roku both make 4k Boxes that are amazingly fast, much snappier than the LG webOS smart TV interface. I recently switched to a Roku with 4k @ 60fps and HDR support, signed up and now using Playstation Vue for my TV service (best channel selections for Chicago area) and couldn't be happier! SlingTV was my preferred, but they didn't offer the local channels in the packages for the area. Every single guest we've had at our home has commented on how awesome the picture quality is on this TV... some of them have expensive quantum UHD displays!

I can rave about the picture, but most of the 4k TV's will all have that. The biggest surprises for me were the sound and the web/wireless. The sound is amazing. I have a bose surround, and didn't even hook it up. no joke. I probably will just to compare, but this has a virtual surround and great speakers. The web/wireless features worked well also. Most other TV's I've had were slow and lost connection repeatedly in my basement. This was flawless. (I've only tested it with Amazon Prime video but it ran great, and was pretty fast browsing. Not quite on par with my Roku, but faster than any other TV I've owned. Love this thing so far. Moved from a 50in plasma with bose surround, and the movie experience was definitely a step up, even without the bose. Also, just passing along something awesome I found out----- on the newer TV's you get the "soap opera effect" where everything looks too realistic. (to some) I hate that...so I researched, and you can turn it off!!!!! It made it much better for me. Hope it helps!

Nice TV Marred by TERRIBLE REMOTE

Button Placement of Remote is Horrible. Small Buttons Ruins the TV experience every time you have to fumble with Small controller. Also the button placment is a joke. Top right is to switch modes, then to hit OK is bottom middle not at all close to where you switch modes. Buttons are small and cramped making it very hard to naturally find your buttons. I am annoyed so much that I had to write this review. LG needs to learn to design a SIMPLE REMOTE with normal placement of buttons and also make the remote bigger. Stay away from the TV, tons of choices out there.

Be aware of Wall Mount option

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Picture quality is excellent. The reason I gave it a 3 rating was the component connections. If you are going a stand mount this is the TV for you. However, I did the wall mount. NIGHTMARE. Almost ALL of the component connections are on the back and not on the side. You cannot reach them if it is on the wall mount much less get your arm between the back of the wall and the TV. If you have a wall mount that does not move like most people have you have to hook ALL of the cables up BEFORE you place it on the wall bracket. It took three of us to complete the task. Two to hold the TV and a third to connect all of the cables. It even tells you that in the user manual. We got it done however ANYTIME you want to ADD or CHANGE a connection the TV must come down off the wall to make the change and again three people. None of this would have been necessary if the connections would have been located on the SIDE. Cannot believe they designed it like this. Another wall mount alternative would have been to have a movable mount similar to ones that are in a hospital room that would give you more room behind the TV to make your connections. However, those mounts are bulky and not what I would want in my living room.

I am delighted with my new LG TV. You get a lot for the buck when buying this TV. Superfast Web 3.0 processor and not to forget mentioning the HDR option. There was few other LG TVs out there in the market for a few 100 dollars less but don't be fool. You will need the HDR and Web 3.0 options for all newer 4K formats. One being the Xbox One S and PS4 (updated in OCT to use HDR).

    Worst TV I've ever bought

I read mixed reviews on this tv before purchasing, but I chalked all the bad reviews up to bad luck. Unfortunately I'm experiencing the same problems now. Apps sign you out at random or won't sign in at all, the tv shuts off completely, frequently. I've updated all apps, including the main operating system, nothing changes. What good is great picture and sound if it shuts off every time you turn it on? Very disappointed, wish I would have listened to the bad reviews.

Very good TV for the price ($825.00). Very details and Clear. Need to add 15% more red to picture to be 5 stars. If you OK to watch real life colors without make-up then go for it.

    Not a true 4K TV

I was offered this TV as a replacement to my Vizio 65'' 4K TV. It took me all of one hour to know this TV is the worst 4K. The depth of a good 4k will look like you are looking out the window. the depth will seem life like. This TV didn't offer that in its picture. The motion is not a true 120 refresh rate. This was very disappointing when I watch a baseball game and even the jersey name was blury. The Vizio 4K you could see the ball with no blur. The baseball mound showed the dirt as it appeared to be able to be picked up. The LG is a poor version of what a 4K should be. I returned the television for a 70'' 2015 Vizio leftover and I am very happy I did!!

    Overall Poor

I purchased this TV 4 month ago online here at BestBuy. Now suddenly the screen won't work at all anymore. The geek squad was at our house a week after the TV broke with the part they had ordered. Well that wasn’t the fix. Now he ordered an entire new 65” screen that we have to wait for until November 1st. A 4 month old TV that I don’t seem to be able to get replaced because of it “being fixable”. The customer service is adamant about not wanting to replace the TV if it’s fixable. It makes no sense to send an entire new 65" screen to our house instead of just replacing the stupid thing and making us wait. Overall it is a very unacceptable experience to say the least.

Television has excellent picture but sound volume is so weak that you have to sit about 5 feet away to hear some shows/movies. Need an auxillary sound system/sound bar if you plan on buying this one or use closed captioning.

This TV replaced a 60" Plasma. Sorry no comparison. The plasma was far superior in picture quality. The back light is very uneven and annoying in a dark lit room. The "Smart TV" part is so slow it is not worth hooking it up. Motion blur is crazy bad. The screen can not keep up with FF through a show or movie. Don't make the mistake I did wait for OLED to come down in price or pay for a better than entry level TV.
