I bought this TV during Black Friday because one of the best buy employees recommended it. I was very disappointed and I have since forgave myself for not doing my due diligence before hand. This is not a terrible TV by any means but the glare around the edges specifically during dark scenes was very noticeable. The remote feels cluttered and outdated and using the remote at night is a challenge. This TV felt like a downgrade compare to my previous cheaper 2021 model Samsung TV. I can’t help but feel like they are better alternatives out there that cost far less. I returned the TV a couple days after purchased and I’m glad I did.

We understand your concern about a purchase that doesn't meet your expectations, especially when comparing it to previous models. This TV has been perfect for months. However… I only use the HDMI input, and one day a message appeared showing my average screen time per day… That is completely unacceptable and just plain creepy that it is gathering my information like that. That is very disturbing, and totally unacceptable. I would return it if I could.

Hi, Tim. Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. We understand the importance of feeling comfortable with how your LG TV (65QNED85TUA) model operates, especially when unexpected on‑screen messages appear while you’re simply using an HDMI device.

One helpful step is to review the AI Service and Privacy settings on your TV, as certain features—such as usage dashboards or viewing habit summaries—can be turned off. You can check these by going to:
Settings → General → AI Service / System → Additional Settings → Privacy & Terms.
From there, you can disable any optional features you prefer not to use. For more guidance, visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-tv-how-to-accept-smart-tv-user-agreements--20154476423334.

    Bad Connection

The TV would be good but I kept getting a connection issue while trying to stream apps directly from the smart tv home. I had no issues with my gaming console or satellite box, both work fine, but when I contacted LG customer service, which is chat not phone, FOUR times they insisted it wasn’t the TV itself and blamed my WiFi, and told me it was my gaming console even though it wasn’t as I wasn’t using it to stream. I plugged the Ethernet cable directly to the TV, I did a soft reset then reset to factory settings not nothing worked. I felt the four agents gave me a basic solution and ended the chat without making sure the issue was solved. It never was. I went online to see if I can figure something out myself and read many threads about people having similar issues and I tried their tips but still nothing. I’ve contacted Best Buy since I purchased a warranty and hope they can resolve it or I’m returning it and definitely not getting another LG brand because they have awful customer service. We have five other TVs in our house, all different brands, and none have had anything like this.

    Mesh WiFi Issues With LG

TV would not connect to Wi Fi. I have a Netgear ORBI Mesh system. After hours of troubleshooting and online chats with LG I traded the LG for a Samsung. Research on the internet revealed that many people with a mesh WiFi by Netgear had the same result. Samsung connection was flawless.

Hi, Texan. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG TV (65QNED85TUA) model.. We understand your concern about a device that doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi, especially after spending time troubleshooting. We strive to provide reliable, high-quality products and ensure a smooth viewing experience.

It’s helpful to know that others with a Netgear ORBI Mesh system have experienced similar issues. Sometimes, mesh systems can have compatibility quirks with certain TVs, but we’re committed to making sure these issues get addressed.

For future reference, if you choose to try again with an LG TV, it might be useful to try adjusting the Wi-Fi settings, such as setting the TV to connect to a 2.4GHz network rather than a 5GHz network, as mesh systems can sometimes have trouble with certain bands. Another tip is to make sure the router’s firmware is up to date. An above average set for a below average price

A very nice middle or the road TV but like all modern devices, requires some time to set it up to your liking. Gone are the days of plug it in and turn it on. Once adjusted, it has an exceptional picture and, important to me, can be viewed from the side with almost no degradation in picture quality. Word of warning for all smart TV's - pay attention to the privacy settings when you are first setting it up. The TV wants to gather a LOT of personal information unless you tell it otherwise. I actually disconnect from my network once the TV is configured and working properly. I use a fire stick in one of the HDMI slots for all my streaming and apps (it's faster than the TV anyway). About every 3 months I'll put the TV online to check for updates and then read what's in the update before installing it, going with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality.
