A pretty good TV while it lasted

I was initially very pleased by our new LG - 65" Class C5 Series OLED evo AI 4K UHD Smart webOS TV (2025). It had a great picture and was lot brighter than our 11 year old Panasonic Plasma TV it replaced. Despite all the negative reviews regarding the Magic Remote, it wasn't all that hard to use, but really couldn't LG have added a simple mute button? I was going to give this a 5 star review, however the TV failed just 22 days after delivery. It shut down while my wife was watching, no standby light, nothing. There is really not much the end user can do; check the power, unplug it for a bit, and then plug it back in. Best Buy is replacing the TV, we'll see if the 2nd works better, I would still recommend it though.

Hi, Roger. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with your LG TV (OLED65C5PUA) model. We understand the importance of having a new TV perform reliably right from the start, and we appreciate you letting us know what happened after those first few weeks of use.

One step you can try with the replacement unit is ensuring the power cable is firmly seated on both the TV and outlet side, as a loose connection can sometimes cause unexpected shutdowns. The tv screen has several very shallow 2” diameter dents in it. You can’t really see them when the tv is on. However, you can see them on the black screen when the tv is off in my bright sunlit room. They seem to be symmetrical so I am assuming they happened in the manufacturing process. The tv was packed nicely and the box was not damaged.

Hi, Rick. Thank you for sharing the details about your LG TV (OLED65C5PUA) model. We appreciate the careful observations you’ve made regarding the shallow dents on the screen.

For an initial step, we recommend performing a panel test using the built-in screen test feature. This will help confirm whether the marks are affecting picture quality or if they are only visible when the TV is off. You can access this by going to: Settings > All Settings > Support > Screen Self-diagnosis.

If the dents do not impact the display during operation, the TV should continue to function normally. For more information on care and maintenance of OLED panels, you can visit our official LG support page here: https://www.lg.com/us/support. If you’d like us to review this further, please send us an email at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com so we can assist you directly. ^Juvy LG

my new t.v. was a manufacture defect (hardware issues). very upsetting. very bad customer service inside best buy. returned it. I exchanged it for the same t.v. and it was good. When one sales their organs for an expensive product, one has a right to complain. I was never compensated for my trouble. I now have a 5 star t.v. as it should be. I am happy now. For consumers looking for t.v.'s ... give samsung a try. or not. or go to a different best buy other than Salem, oregon.

Due to the size of the tv I purchased the $199 delivery option. The delivery was to take place 12 days later. They never showed up. After hours of being placed on hold and dealing with unhelpful customer service reps the delivery date was rescheduled to a date 14 days in the future. I cancelled the order. Amazon can deliver the same TV at the same price in 2 days with no shipping costs.

Ridiculous 15 day return and price match policy. I was trying to price match a TV that I purchased 3 weeks ago and was politely told too bad too sad for you. 15 days is not a normal return/price match policy in America. This is ridiculous. I am never buing anything again from Best Buy and don't recommend you to purchase anything from there either. So many store out there carrying the same items with normal 30 day return policy and price match. Hatred and contempt!

Hi, Rohit. Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your LG TV (OLED65C5PUA) model.

We understand the importance of an immersive and uninterrupted viewing experience, especially with a high-performance OLED display. Beeping and sudden power-offs can sometimes be triggered by external power issues or internal safety shut-offs. Before proceeding with a return, please try a Hard Power Reset and check the Power Settings to rule out a software or environment-related glitch. Hello there, Kurtis. Thanks for sharing your experience with the OLED65C5PUA. We understand how unexpected it can be to encounter a recurring sound issue, especially after replacing the unit.

The beeping or buzzing you're describing may be related to thermal expansion or internal cabinet vibration, which can occur as the TV warms up during use. LG OLED TVs are built with advanced materials that can expand slightly with heat, sometimes producing subtle noises. This is not a defect, and to know more about this, here is a link you may visit: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-oled-tv-popping-or-crackling-noise--20154713282499

Hello there, TonyR. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that the picture frame feature on your LG - 65" Class C5 Series OLED evo AI 4K UHD Smart webOS TV does not remain on as long as you would prefer. We understand your inquiry and appreciate you bringing this specific operational setting to our attention. This feature, often part of the Art Gallery or Ambient Mode, is typically designed with a setting to manage the display time, which helps to conserve energy and prevent image retention on the OLED panel.
To adjust the duration that the picture frame or gallery mode stays on, the simple step we can advise you to try is accessing the TV's power-saving or general settings menu. Look for the "Screen Saver," "Power Saving," or "OLED Panel Settings" section, where you should find an option to adjust the timer for the Art Gallery or picture mode. By increasing this time limit, you should be able to keep the display of your framed pictures constant for a longer period. We are committed to helping you optimize the TV's features to perfectly suit your viewing preferences.

this tv is insane and I have pretty much owned them all from 32 to 98 inches and multiple yers and levels of oled . the AI does more than we are used to actually even upscaling the video so much that it appears to be a much higher res than it actually is and not constantly trying to make view the shows you watch in a low dim quality... AI is everything on this specific tv . also the upgraded pointer remote is much less gigantic and is actually a little heavy and works great.. and this has the best sound HANDS DOWN of any tv I have owned and that's saying a lot . its very loud and has plenty of bass.. I haven't used the tv audio in YEARS.. but I finally don't need a sound bar it would be and addition not a "need".. buy this tv!!!!
