After having faith and return/exchanging this TV FOUR times without getting a non defective model, I can no longer sing this TVs praise. DO NOT BUY this TV unless you're willing to put up with poor quality control issues that result in dead pixels, stuck pixels, vertical banding, and poor grays.

I am actually returning this Tv. The picture is very dark but the worst thing is that the sound and picture are constantly out of sync. I have to go off that channel and come back a few times before it corrects itself. For what this TV costs, that is unacceptable.

This TV was defective straight out of the box. Some of the OLED's were burnt out. When I took the TV back to exchange it for a different one, they had about 3 more of the same TV's in the return area because of the same issue. I ended exchanging it for a Samsung QLED and haven't had any issues since then.

So, let me start by saying I personally wished I had it professionally installed and put together. The screen is of course very fragile and it’s not a one person job due to the size I got. Once you are able to set it up it is amazing! Before you even turn it on it’s a thing of beauty. It’s amazingly thin I had never seen something like it so even when it’s off and just in the room the visual is striking. Once on the screen is crystal clear and breathtaking I have a Xbox hooked up to everything so my first view was that bright green Xbox screen and it honestly hurt my eyes it was so bright. The setup process was easy connecting to WiFi and other devices like cable box and remotes. The smart remote is amazing! Being able to scroll through the options and click on things without having to use the standard arrows was a great feature. Pretty much the remote serves as a pointer and you’re able to scroll through and type like a breeze. My only con is the sound. I have a sound bar so that could be why when I disconnected it for review purposes I was a little disappointed but it could be because of the sound I’m used to hearing but, it’s not enough to take a star away for sound. This TV is amazing and worth the money. LG got it right in my opinion.

Don’t waste your money! Wait till all tv is 4K or better to purchase tv. They say the picture is great nope it’s not only if it’s 4K. Not everything comes in 4K Picture is dark and I specifically asked about that and they say yes I you can change that. For the amount I paid for this tv I could have replaced all my flat screens in each room.

Picture quality is not what I expected. Doesn't look any better than my old Sony flat screen that is not HD and is over 10 years old. Maybe I need some set up procedures that I'm not aware of. Manual that came with the unit is very vague with set up procedure.

    Unbelievable

I purchased this tv a few days ago. I was a little hesitant cause of the price tag. And that it had potential for the OLED to create static burn in. But boy am I glad I purchased this powerhouse of a tv. It is so vibrant and responsive it is crazy. The deep blacks and the vibrant reds and greens are unbelievable. It is thinner than my Apple iPhone X. It was very scary setting this up cause I didnt want to damage the screen. But my wife and I did it without fighting and no damage. The remote is a little different than most. It takes some time to get used to. But don’t let that stop you from buying the best rated tv that CNET has ever reviewed. You will not be disappointed. I looked at every tv and looked at all the reviews. This tv beat every tv on the market. If you go in wanting this tv. No other tv will even compare to it. The speakers are not bad for tv speakers. I did order the lg soundbar with Dolby Atmos. Will review that next. All in all I am very happy with my purchase. It is the center of attention when people see it. It’s unbelievable.

PROS -Best in class picture -Extremely low profile -Sound is great CONS -Remote can take some getting used to -Glass and thin portion of display was slightly warped -Assembly instructions not intuitive SETUP/DESIGN First off, this TV is definitely a two person setup and you definitely want to follow LGs included instructions to the ‘T’ to ensure you assemble the stand and don’t cause any damage to the television. The top section of the display is millimeters thin, but doesn’t seem as fragile as I initially thought - however it does flex quite a bit. The good news is once you get the TV standing upright, the wide sweeping stand ensures it isn’t going anywhere. The stand is hefty and stylish and curves down on the front for most of the TV length. The back of the TV has a metal finish and looks absolutely stunning. The top is super thin while the thicker bottom houses the electronics and ports. PICTURE/AUDIO The picture of this tv is as breath-takingly impressive as it’s ultra thin enclosure. The darkest blacks and vivid color round out a beautiful 4K screen. TV Shows, Movies, and Sports absolutely pop on the screen. Latency in video games is improved as well – I saw no noticeable difference between my traditional LED TV when playing on my Xbox One. The Dolby Atmos sound is among the best I have heard on a TV - and impressive for how thin the TV is. CONTROLS/SOFTWARE The TV runs WebOS – and the software is fairly intuitive. While the remote is not the most stylish it is very functional and offers many different ways to control the TV. You can use the D-pad, your voice, and the wand mode, which makes the remote function much like a Wii controller. With all the options, it does take a bit to get used to. For voice, you can also setup Google Assistant – but this isn’t an always listening setup, so you’ll still have to use the remote.

This is my Second Lg Oled, my first one was the original 55EA9800. And all I can say is Wow. Picture quality is amazing. Blacks are still inky as can be and colors are still vivid and pop right out of the screen. Picture looks sharp in any content, SDR,HDR/Dolby Vision. You will not be disappointed with the C8, nothing but quality

Excellent TV - top of the line!

Absolutely exceptional TV. I am no expert, but I seem to think I know a good picture. I use Netflix UHD, VUDU UHD, along with cable TV. Netflix is able to activate Dolby Vision (and some YouTube videos) and the picture quality is absolutely insane. I upgraded from a 55" 10-year old LCD display, and it is comparing apples to oranges. The price of this TV is on the high side, but don't let less expensive TVs fool you - you get back every penny you pay for in quality. I know the competition is QLED vs. OLED, and I would choose OLED personally. Having no back-light creates for an incredibly sharp picture. HDR is great, and up-scaling is also great. I bought this TV because I wanted to not have to buy another TV for 10-years... and this seems to be the case. No other complaints. I don't use the TV speakers since I have a sound-system, but you would be a fool to use the stock speakers on a TV of this quality. They're not bad, but again... why have poor sound quality when you have the best picture money can buy for this price-point. Would recommend to anyone weighing QLED vs. OLED, however, OLED is not good for rooms that are normally very bright (since there is no back-light on the TV).

    Best picture I’ve ever owned

For Christmas my Daughter thought my one year old 55 in 4k TV needed an upgrade (but really didn’t:) and she got this as my Christmas Present. It is truly as amazing a picture as I’ve ever owned. The 65 inch OLED C8 delivers true HDR and 4k options (Dolby Vision, HDR 10 plus many more) that automatically adjust to the source. I had the Geek Squad set this one up too (as I did last year) and Chad, again, did an amazing job (aided by Will). We had them put it on the wall and the job they did for that and the set up (and explaining how to use the Tv) was excellent. Thank you Geek Squad for another wonderful and pleasant experience. If you get a 65 inch TV you definitely want the pros to set it up, especially since the screen is only about a quarter inch thick. Great TV and excellent customer service from the Geek Squad.

A quantum (not dot) leap in picture quality

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Many here go into great detail, so I will not. But I will say the picture on the C8 out of the box is a quantum leap in visual quality. If you are a cinefile THIS is the ONLY tv to get! Gamers and Sports fanatics may want to look at the QLED from Samsung for its motion qualities, and burn in issues with OLED, but for movies and visuals, the C8 easily beats the QLED. The clarity, crispness and color are unmatched. Yes LG has more expensive versions of this panel, but the panel and processor on the C8 are the same so no need for the extra costs. Plus I rarely use the vast majority of the panel's controls as I have other input sources. ie Fire Stick, Apple TV, Roku, PS3. I cannot stress how good this panel looks. Granted I am upgrading from a 2006 Samsung edge lit LED LCD (th eone with the horrible soap opera affect) but I also have a new TCL 55" 4K to compare. While the TCL can't be beat for the money, the picture on the C8 clearly makes the 5Xs the price worth it. It is that amazing. No this was not paid for ;-)
