    Great but pay attention

For comparison, I have a Panasonic VT60 plasma in another room which has been great. I purchased the LG C8 65 inch for a bright living room. It is wall mounted and the mounting was pretty easy. Used a Sanus LL11 wall mount with the smaller spacers that come with the mount. There is a clear dialogue option for audio which is nice. It has gotten so that it is hard for me to hear dialogue but this setting really helps. Also I have it on Vivid and changed the temp to 0. It comes set to cold. Here is what became important. I had an issue where the dialogue was not synched with the video. I had not seen this on any tv before. This happened with Comcast but did not happen with Amazon which had a wired network connection. I googled this and set the comcast box to 1080i and the audio to expert from 5.1. This helped but then I found out the problem. The hdmi cable was going from comcast box to audio video receiver (Pioneer VSX-LX301) then to keystone hdmi connector in wall plate to CL2 in wall hdmi cable to hdmi connector in keystone wall plate to hdmi cable to TV. I had a problem a couple of years ago in another room with these keystone wallplate adapters. I unmounted the tv from the wall and pulled the in wall hdmi cable through the keystone openings top and bottom and got rid of the keystone connectors. This made all the difference. Everything was fixed. Absolutely beautiful with no audio synch problems. Everything also looks 4k. The picture also improved immensely. Even local television is gorgeous. My comment would be that if you do not have the best experience then you may want to try a new hdmi cable. And go straight from cable box to tv. The cable does not need to be expensive. These hdmi wires are so thin that any brand will have some duds. Best Buy did not have the E8 available. That model has the frosted white glass appearance when off. I would have gotten it since it looks so cool but I am glad that I did not. When the C8 set is off, the black color makes it seem smaller.

I've been a home theater nut since the late 90's and purchased this television to replace my 60" Elite LED from 2012. I was extremely satisfied with my Elite, but this OLED is simply stunning. The 4k resolution, coupled with HDR and infinite black, makes purchasing an OLED a no-brainer. I have had absolutely zero issues with image retention, although I'm careful not to leave it turned on with still images for an extended period of time. HDR is very bright (I have no idea why someone would want it even brighter), and 4k blu-rays floor me. TV is simply outstanding in every way. Remote is also nice, but I no longer use it since I've hooked up my system to my Harmony hub and control it via Alexa. Xbox One X also looks fantastic on it - a true upgrade.

    Great OLED

Haven't had more than a day yet to play around with this new OLED but here is my initial review. Coming from the B6 line of OLED from 2016 not much change interface wise but great for me since I don't need to learn a new operating system. Man do the colors pop more than the 2016 model! 4K sources seem even more refined and extra crisp. The thing I like the most so far is motion handling. The A9 professor chip is doing its job because I had yet to find any sources after a day use experience any sources of judder. Nice smooth crisp motion. Game mode is nice. May be a tad bit quicker than the B6 but didn't get a fair time to play games yet so can't review that so much at this point.

I highly recommend this TV. Picture is absolutely stunning right out of the box! It looks way better at home than it does in store (a lot to do with lighting). The TV setup is a little tedious but other than that it is perfect. It is my first LG tv so maybe I’m not accustomed to WebOS. I did not have any issues setting up my Sonos system with the tv nor did i experience any issues lip sync delay like others have posted. I setup the apple 4K tv and 5.1 Sonos speakers with initial setup. I actually really like the magic remote too! It’s very easy to use. I would definitely recommend this tv to anyone in the market

Bought my first oled and it was the 65” LG c8. All I can say is wow! Black levels are awesome, color is deep, picture brightness, for an oled is excellent. Upconvert from lower than 4K resolution is quite good and as far as I’m concerned with that alpha 9 processor is on par with Sony. TruMotion actually works quite well so that that soap opera effect is negligent. WebOS is actually quite fast and very easy to use. It has all the usual apps such as Netflix, prime, Hulu and plex load and works just fine. Highly recommend.

Overall this TV is excellent. The picture quality and sound, by far exceed any other that I have owned. The LG remote, which essentially provides a laser selection method, is also a nice feature that is not common to other models.

Purchased the C8 as an upgrade for my old 46inch TV. I really am astounded at the picture quality and ease of use. I really like the sturdy stand which this TV has (My wife and I do not like tv's mounted over our fire place, we enjoy looking at TV directly, not up in the air). If you are trying to decide what TV you want, your search has just ended. No need to look further!

    Outstanding TV and monitor

Purchased 'open box' from Best Buy outlet May 2019. I'm in my late 50's and do not wear glasses. I am not a gamer, but spend 1 to 4+ hours a day working with my 2017 Macbook Pro connected to this TV. I sit ~8 feet from the screen (bluetooth kbd & trackpad) Wow oh Wow does this make computer-work easy on the eyes. Power supplied through an APC Back-UPS NS-1080 which monitors power-drawn; unit typically draws 40 watts normal operation, only slightly higher when pushing pretty loud audio. There are some downsides. 1) Remember walking into Best Buy and seeing all those good-looking displays- no more, this display looks better than anything other than another OLED. 2) You'll 'dream' of this monitor and miss it when working with other 'regular' monitors and displays. 3) LG support appears to be non-existent: emailing support does not obtain a response and my 1 call to LG support was on-hold for an hour before I hung up. 4) I'm disappointed LG will not support AirPlay 2 on this and other pre-2019 units, would be nice to push audio to the Homepod speakers (easily addressed with an Apple TV 4k unit). Enjoy your new OLED, I know I'm enjoying this one.

    AMAZING TV

I originally bought a 65 QLED for a few hundred dollars less. Big Mistake. Returned it to Best Buy. Had numerous problems with the quality of the tv and Samsung Customer Service(they literally told me to take it back to the store rather than fix the tv). I read other bad Samsung customer service reviews, and there was enough to make me double think, but I buy Samsung. Always had good experiences until recently. l returned my Qled and went with an OLED. I almost bought a standard 65 LED for $900 after my experience spending $2500 on a QLED. Thankfully I went with this LG Oled tv. The picture quality blows the QLED picture away. No comparison. There's a reason this TV is compared to ones costing much much more. If your debating between an OLED and QLED you read some horrible reviews. Go OLED or standard low lag LED. The Qled I bought was equal in quality to our other Samsung 6 series tv. Only difference is QLED was $1900 more expensive and had lagging issues. This tv runs really smooth in game mode for competitive online gaming. The picture with Sci-Fi movies and Action movies is mind boggling. Never seen a picture so crisp with excellent motion handling.

    Beautiful Picture, Good Features

I got this TV because it was a reasonably priced OLED, and now that I have had it for a few months, it lives up to the hype. The picture is so good that it took some getting used to seeing the amount of detail in actors' faces. When it displays screen savers, they look indistinguishable from framed paintings. I love the borderless screen, and have been pleasantly surprised by the built-in apps and Google integration. The Google thing took several steps to set up, but now the TV is able to do voice-to-text and to accept voice commands. I use the built-in Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, and YouTube apps frequently, and they all work well with the exception that the Prime Video app sometimes glitches--not enough to be a big problem, and I'm sure they will fix that at some point with a software update. Sound quality is decent. If I had one reservation about the TV, it is that the display is so thin that if I ever have to move, I would worry about bending or damaging it. For this reason, I am keeping the original packaging, even though the box is pretty big.

    A different perspective

I had been using a 58" Panasonic Plasma for over a decade but got tired of moving it, so I gave it away and purchased this. I do not have cable tv, or consoles, just a computer hooked up to the display with 7.1 so I cannot speak to the audio or 'smart' features but, as a big ol computer monitor it is working quite well. I have watched plenty of content, spanning genres, and it looks very good. I do have to say that with the motion smoothing turned on, yeah, it's crisp but it's just not right so that was turned off promptly. Heck, turn that off in general, no matter the monitor. But, I digress, it's performing to my expectations thus far and it didn't hurt that it was marked down 1k$ when I bought it last week.

Purchased originally from an on line vendor but the screen was defective. Tried to work with LG for repair, an experience that no one should suffer. Returned and purchased anew through Magnolia with a 3 year service plan. Strongly recommend you do the same. TV is outstanding. Glad I stayed with an LG product. OLED produces the best picture quality available. A sound system would add to the experience, but the sound quality is very good for a TV. Well worth the money.

Picture is very good - very, very good but not great (Samsung). OTOH, for the price (not Samsung), it's fantastic. Sound is OKish but that's what soundbars are for. Overall very happy.

For everyone complaining about the picture being too dark. You need to take it out of energy saving mode. It defaults to that setting when its first turned on. Picture is amazing, nice seeing true black. If its in your price range, this is a must buy.

I was told by a rep who I later found out was a samsung rep that OLED's are made for dark rooms. I Live in a fairly large home where the left side of my family room has a window about 25' high 11' wide. Despite all of that light picture looks great. had a QLED at first but it didnt perform to my expectations. Hopefully will pick a 77" this holiday if the hubby allows! lol

Honestly surpassed our expectations, and we came in with very high ones. We have a very bright living room morning/mid day and it handles glare better than most TV's I've seen. That new processor is seriously blazing fast. Best smart platform I've tried. Blacks are perfect. I could go on and on.
