Best Buy/Magnolia great. LG not so much!

Purchased 55 and 65 in. From Magnolia. Sets work fine. However, LG smart features require sharing all viewing information. Since the cable guide is built into the set they record every channel you watch any feature and recorded voice. They can use this in about anyway they want and can share this data with anyone they want. You can skip accepting terms twice then they turn off. That is criminal. If you purchase a smart set - you should get a smart set without compromising your privacy. Worse, I wrote this review on LG and they claim they “accepted” the review but they did not post it. They do not post my one star. How many other negative posts have they “lost”? Anyway, Best Buy and Magnolia are rgreat. The people are very helpful. Just wish LG did not require me sharing my data to use something like netflix. That is ridiculous.

    Support is horrible.

The picture was outstanding fir a little over a month, TV stoped powering on, 2 red flashes then powering off. After waiting 5 days for a technician to show up and replace both boards and still having the same problem. The New diagnosis is a bad panel, with a wait time of 14 days or more plus shipping time. Apparently the failure rate is so high that the 87 panels that arrived today didn’t fill the baxkprders that already existed before my order. With this schedule the TV will have been broken more than it’s besn in use. While I normally wholeheartedly recommend LG, after my first support encounter I can only say stay away. Do not buy this product. While this TV is supposed to be top of the line, support does not match, leaving much to be desired. I fear this TV will never be the same, and if at 35 days old they do not stand behind it in 6 months.

2500 dollar 65" LG OLED TV out after 1 1/2 years

Bought a LG OLED TV Nov. 2017. Apr. 2019 (one and a half years) it lost a complete line of pixels across the center of the screen and than went out . It now comes on for a second and goes out. Called LG and they said sorry its out of warranty. Called Best Buy and they said I should have bought a warranty and they will not service a TV unless you buy into the new warrant program for I believe it was $150 to $ 200 and than they will come out for half the normal price, other wise they will no longer come out. I had a tech. form a TV shop come out and was told the screen needed to be replaced at a cost of approx. $1500. TV is now junk-beware.

Burn in. Never by an LG OLED again. I’m now looking at a Sony LED. Can’t be as bad. I had a Panasonic never an issue. Just wanted to upgrade. My mistake.

    To dark for me!

I really wanted to like this T.V. but was unable to do so because every setting I tried, I could not get a bright enough picture. The colors looked great and the sound was pretty good for just basic T.V. speakers, but most shows I watched and the basketball game didn't look as good as my Samsung with the bright vibrant picture. I had to return it and get the new Samsung which looks great!!! I don't see how this television got so many good reviews, I guess it's just personal preference.

LG OLED 65 C 8 Too bright & Too Dark at same time

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

When using two newish DirecTV boxes to feed LG OLED 65 C8 pau..... 1. Some scenes (many commercials) blindly bright. Other scenes so dark you can not see what is going on. Some times both in same scene/screen, areas of screen so bright it hurts eyes, areas of same scene/screen so dark you can not see anything. Same problem with both DirecTV boxes. Plasma TV sitting next to LG OLED running same box (via HDMI splitter) at same time looks fine. LG OLED over reacts to bights and darks at same time. I've tried multiple picture adjustments and presets. 2. Also, changing picture settings on one HDMI input does NOT change other HDMI inputs picture settings, so it is very time consuming. I saw somewhere you can save to all inputs so you only have to adjust once, but I can no longer find where that information is. 3. Eye Comfort Mode On reduces some of bright, but no where near enough. 4. Interactive Manual is poor at best, very complicated, no search. HELP? If someone can recommend how to fix problem of too dark and too lbrght at same time (and it works with no cost to me), and save to all inputs at once. I would raise review.

    Do Not Buy LG TV

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Do Not Buy LG TVs. They do not let you update the operating systems. I bought a Smart TV 4 years ago that basically useless right now since most of the Apps got disable and it's telling me I need to buy a newer version TV. So I bought a New OLED TV last year, it's the most expensive TV at Best Buy. But it's telling me I need to buy a newer TV again so I can get newer Operating System if I want to use Google Hub, Amazon Hub, or Anything Smart Devices with it. They don't let you even update for more money. Their Options are to buy newer TV. Samsung or Sony does not do this. I have checked with Best Buy about Samsung & Sony , people are using smart devices with them with 4 year old TVs. I will never buy a LG product ever again. and I am stuck with very expensive not so smart LG TV. I paid $3500 for this 65 inch OLED TV.

2500 $ TV , worked ok with cable. Once I cut the cord and went to iptv, this TV refuses to connect to the internet. A reset every day fixed the issue for few days but after 3 days just refuses to connect even after multiple resets of router/TV. Just getting tired of this TV. All other devices are connecting to WiFi without issues.
