LG - 65" Class - OLED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV with HDR (OLED65C8PUA) Setup/Testing/Conclusion The LG C8 in my opinion is an excellent 4k OLED TV with superb picture quality. Because the C8 is an OLED panel, it has an infinite contrast ratio since each individual pixel can be turned off (this is how OLED works). Due to the LG C8 being an OLED TV, you won’t experience any visible flickers (unlike some other company’s technology). The technology of the LG C8 allows it to create perfect blacks, which is great if you have your LG C8 in a dark room. If you’re one of those folks that enjoy the genre of either Sci-Fi or Horror, the C8 is a perfect addition/upgrade to your home entertainment setup. The picture also remains on point when viewed at an angle, this means that even if you have guests over and they are at a wide viewing angle; they won’t have an issue seeing the TV (even if you have the C8 in a large and bright room). The C8 performs great with HDR content, it creates really bright and saturated highlights. I went ahead and tested the LG C8 with my gaming PC and it handled input lag and motion handling without any issues. This is also due to the fact that the native refresh rate of the C8 is 120Hz (at 1080p) and 60Hz (at 4k). As mentioned, the C8 handles motion extremely well; which means it is great for watching sports or playing games. Because of the instantaneous response time, you won’t experience any ghosting or trailing during any fast motion. The engineers at LG did an excellent job with the design of the C8. Although the base is wide, it’s extremely sturdy and it’s well constructed. The base was designed and constructed in the shape that it is so that it can help direct the built in sound to the whole room. But because of this particular construction, you’re not able to place a soundbar directly in front of the C8. The C8 has better sound quality than other built in sound systems I’ve heard. Although it’s “better sound”, I would still recommend a dedicated sound bar for the stronger “oomph”. The base and frame around the screen is made of aluminum. The bezel of the C8 is very thin and it looks great. As far as the controls of the C8, they are located on the back to the side; similar to the previous model C7. The C8’s top half of the screen is ridiculously thin if you were to compare it to the previous model C7. When mounting the C8 to a wall, be mindful that the 4 HDMI inputs on the side may be difficult to access due to the composite input being rear facing. As mentioned previously with wall mounting, please be very careful as the top portion of the C8 is extremely thin. When it comes to LG webOS (LG’s smart platform), it has a good selection of pre-installed apps. If you’re adventurous, I think you’ll find a decent collection of apps in LG’s content store. The C8’s remote is compact and works exceptionally well and fast. I went ahead and tested the voice control feature and they also work exceptionally well on the C8. In conclusion, I was literally blown away with my LG C8. Because of the excellent picture quality, perfect blacks, dark room friendly, great wide viewing angle; the LG C8 is definitely a TV you should check out and splurge on. I mean look, you’re getting infinite contrast ratio, a wide and complete scope of colors, low response time, Dolby Atmos Support, and LG’s ThinQ AI. If that hasn’t sold you, I don’t know what else would. The LG C8 is definitely worth it and I would highly recommend it to friends and family. We went from a 55" Samsung to a 65" LG. We loved our Samsung but the LG is an even better picture. We love all the features on the LG and it is easy to use.

Purchased this TV and also an LG 4K Blu-Ray player to go with an older Yamaha home theater system. Had some issues connecting to the Yamaha system but was able to figure them out. Also had a few issues with Netflix hanging and buffering. Called LG support and the solution was fairly simple and quick. Uninstall and reinstall the Netflix app. The picture quality in 4K is stunning both when streaming from Netflix or watching 4K Blu-rays. And the sound. Not sure why but this TV and Blu-ray have made my older Yamaha system sound so much richer and full. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing TV Picture Quality and Decent Sound

This TV’s picture quality is absolutely amazing and is unmatched in my opinion. The sound quality could honestly be a little louder and was not what I was expecting from Dolby Atmos but my expectations may have been too high. I am pretty angry at the fact that LG is not supporting this TV with Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit as we just purchased it in December 2018 and now find out that in January 2019, it’s already outdated in that aspect. LG could easily update the set to support it but is choosing not to. So it’s a great TV but LG not supporting new features that can be implemented (as other TV makers are), especially considering these are premium TV’s is disappointing. You don’t buy these types of TV’s every few years like phone. So we will be considering Samsung for our next purchase unless LG changes their stance. I recommend the TV for it’s picture quality but don’t think I recommend LG. We are new to LG, so it’s disappointing.

So I’ll start by saying I ordered the Visio p75f and after 2 screens with horrible banding I upgraded to the 65” C8. I wish I’d started here all along, the picture was instantly noticeably better, everything from sports to tv shows, and especially movies look amazing, it’s been about a month now with the c8 and I still find myself admiring just how good the picture is at times. I can’t say a bad thing about this tv cause I have yet to find anything. It’s a little step price wise but you’re getting a whole different level of tv. You won’t regret buying the C8.

This is our first LG TV having been a loyal Samsung follower. We wanted to replace our 55” Samsung with a larger set and decided on 65”. Our previous Samsung’s have been reliable and a nice picture. We started looking at the Samsung Q series but were taken back by the price. Then we looked at the LG OLED TV and were very impressed. Picture quality is outstanding, every bit as good and perhaps better than the Samsung Q series. And the price is better. We have now enjoyed the LG for over a month and are convinced we made the right choice.

I purchased this TV in August 2018 and it was definitely an amazing upgrade from my old 55" Samsung. The perfect black is absolute amazing and really enhances the movie watching experience. CON: The TV stand/base is curved to channel the sound towards the listener. I have the TV mounted and have had to turn the TV up a lot more just to hear it (ie. while TV was on the stand the volume used was 8-10 but when mounted it needs to be 16-20) since the sound is being pushed down and is not being redirected towards me. That would be my only CON about this TV.

Great picture and beautiful design. Was highly disappointed when my geek squad installer informed me that I can expect 3 to 5 years at best for life expectancy. $ 3000.00 buys technology but not a long lasting product. Need to purchase 5 year extended warranty!!!

Are you ready to binge all your Netflix series you are behind on? Because this is the perfect TV for it. It’s a must to invest in higher quality HDMI cables (I purchased audio quest cinnamon and chocolate) I mean after all you are spending over 2k. I mention this since my Apple 4K TV had troubles with the regular HDMI that was hooked up and once I made the switch all those issues went away. The TV is thin as you would expect from an OLED, and I haven’t had any issues with picture quality yet. I will update my review in the next 4 months

At first I was blown away in the store with the image quality. Honestly, this TV has ruined all other LCD's. The quality in the image is so unbelievably clear, we find ourselves pausing movies/shows just to read the street signs and look at all the things in the background! I also really like the customization for the picture mode and the pre-defined picture modes. This TV does a really great job displaying how the filmmaker wanted it to look.

Love the picture and hdr with 4k on Netflix and bluray is great. However im having problems with it shutting on and off. Quite annoying and they tell me it can take 3 weeks to get it back if it gets sent out to be fixed. Payed 600 for extended warantee on it.

This purchase was the failure of a B7 which developed screen burn-in and other issues was 15 months old when it occurred. This however did not discourage from staying with LG. I find the OLED65C8PUA to have the ultimate picture. I did compare other brands but my choice was LG but was sold on the new processor and other features. My disappointment was LG that their policy does not cover this burn-in and their lack of trust in their product raises issues. I did however have coverage to cover burn-in. Thanks Best Buy, that review is next.

Hands down best tv I’ve ever seen!! OLED is the best tech available right now, so beautiful! Don’t be fooled by QLED, it’s still LCD tech in a new label. They have come a long way, to be sure, but OLED is where it’s at! One caveat, which isn’t a problem for us, but it is not as bright as the LCD panels. So if you’re using it outdoors or in a super bright room, you may want to consider something that is brighter. That being said, we use ours during the day all the time and don’t have any trouble seeing the beautiful picture at all.
