Best TV I Own--Magic Remote is Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much better than Vizio. On black Friday weekend I purchased a 70" Vizio E Series on sale at Costco. I've never been a Vizio fan, but the 2018 E series had great reviews which said it had better black levels etc than non-OLED LG 's. I might have gotten a bad panel...but the picture was total garbage--even after calibrating. I returned the Vizio and got this LG from Best Buy. The picture is great (destroys the Vizio) and the colors are accurate. The magic remote is the best I've seen. It "learned" my DirectTV receiver without problems and now I can scroll through channels very quickly (much faster than the native remote). So far I am very impressed. I am sure that black levels would be better on a TV with a VA panel vs the IPS panel that LG uses...but it's great having a good picture even at an angle (which you only get with IPS). I also have a highly rated 55" Samsung 4k and I think the picture quality on this LG is much better. Don't let the mediocre "Pro" reviews online scare you away from this TV. There is more to a great TV experience than just test charts.

Banging TV, just play with the settings a little
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is wonderful once you get the right settings in place. Make sure to turn off local dimming and motion enhancement and you will be on your way. The motion enhancement creates that "soap opera effect" which is on most LCD TVs, turn it off! Local Dimming is supposed to highlight areas of the TV, but it basically just makes darker TV and movies foggy, turn it off! After that you are good to go. The 4K is beautiful, it does come with a coax cable input which is very nice. The operating system is smooth. You get a ton of free online channels and it works directly with 4K Netflix and such. Great TV.

Phenomenal TV Experience
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was blown away by this great tv. It is a large and heavy beast that will need at least two people to set up. The picture is amazing. The smart features are incredible. Very easy to set up other devices including Apple Tv, DVD player, and sound bar. The magic remote takes some getting used to but is very, very cool. One of the clearest pictures that I have ever seen on a television. 4K DVDs are amazing and life like on this tv.

Once Set-up Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The lip sync issue was driving me nuts until I figured out how to solve it. I was trying to sync the sound to my non-LG home theater system and about had enough. Then I turned on the TV speakers and my external home theater speakers and adjusted the lip sync option until it was aligned. Once I did this, the sync/sound was perfect. Picture is great. Dark scenes are a little too dark as others have said, but overall great TV. Love the smart remote with wireless mouse.

Highly recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ended up buying this TV after purchasing a high end Samsung TV that kept malfunctioning. We had a 50 inch LG tv in the bedroom and always loved the color so we ended up buying this for our living room. The picture is amazing after turning off TruMotion ( I HATE the soap opera effect) and adjusting the color a bit. I recommend turning off local dimming, power savings, and so on. The remote is cool, but annoying if you have direct tv. I end up using the direct tv remote due to it being kind of annoying to use on the magic remote. I've had for about 4 months now and love the TV. LG is always consistent with their products and I'd buy this again over samsung or Vizio any day.

IPS VS VA Panels
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV to replace a 60 inch Samsung 1080p. I was attracted to the purchase because it had a center base which fit on my smaller TV stand and it was $400 off the day I needed it. The 2 salespeople I spoke with both championed this screen for it's wide array or colors and it's 120 Hz refresh rate over the other ones I was looking at as well. The Pros: The television indeed had a very WOW amount of colors. Turning on the movie Coco was a blast. Motion was also very good. The design on the television was also to my liking. The Cons: The IPS panel is the main reason I returned this television. I'm used to a VA panel, so maybe that's the issue, but IPS panels have very bad contrast. The blacks were extremely cloudy. Dark scenes were a nightmare. I also could not get the sharpness level where I wanted it no matter how hard I tried. 0 was way too blurry but I couldn't find the right setting by raising it either. My advice is to research what you have and if you like it, stick with that type of panel. Generally, if you're watching your TV straight on and you watch it in dark or dim light, you'll want a VA panel. If you view your television from the side and have a bright enough room, then this TV would probably be fine for you. Had I known about VA vs IPS before I made a purchase, I would have saved myself a trip to the store.

Feature Rich
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First i bought a 55 inch TCL R615 6 series model - their top of the line.. great tv, great picture but i decided to exchange it for a bigger screen. The 65 inch TLC was more expensive than the LG 8000 because it was on sale. rtngs.com gives the TLC a higher rating than the LG so i was a little nervous. Not anymore.. Let me mention my profession is professional video editor & producer of +25 years. i understand color, contrast dynamic.range etc and know what to look for. The amount of features and picture settings/adjustability is staggering vs. The TLC.. I spent 6 weeks with the TLC and know its image quality.. The LG is every bit as good with the added adjustments id say the LG is better. Established quality brand.. You'll want to spend alot if time.adjusting picture settings as it doesnt look good right out if the box.. i really like the custom motion blur and jutter settings.. Great 120hz but i dont want my movies to look like soap operas. If u dont have knowledge or patence to get the settings dialed in then u might wanna stick with something simplier and the TCL would.fit that bill. Otherwise get the LG.. it also has Dolby vision which the Samsung tvs DO NOT.

Must have TV
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a beautiful TV. Sleek and stylish screen.. Crystal clear pictures, and videos. But that’s not the best part. I love the integrated features this TV has. I believe its call the LG AI ThinQ. Its very easy to use and find what you’re looking for. Its fast and response not leaving you wondering if you clicked the wrong setting. You can also just speak into the remote to search for things. Pretty cool feature. I recommend anyone looking for a TV to just go to a Bestbuy and try this one out.

Great TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was on the fence with this TV or one of the lesser model LG TVs. I am definitely glad I splurged for this model. This is the start of the premium models for the LG line. The picture is amazing, the smart remote is ingenious, the LG webos is the best smart platform in the tv market currently, works with Alexa (hopefully adds some additional skills in the future but will adjust volume, inputs, tune to a channel, turn off the tv), and at the price currently it is the cheapest entry into the premium line of TVs while Samsung and Sony are a minimum $100 more.

good upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our last TV was 10 years old, so somewhat obsolete by today's technology. This LG is attractive, has a lovely picture and quality sound, and we're enjoying the fun new features. The only thing we didn't love was setting it up with the remote. Like many other reviewers, we rate the intuitiveness of the remote during setup pretty low. Other than that, we have no complaints.

Unreal hd picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Researched, priced around..not a big tech guy, but going from a 50" plasma to 65" hd, unreal. Have directvtv, picture is awesome. Make sure you shut off power save mode. Even better. Sound, average, still figuring out the rest of the gadgets. Highly recommend the payment plan...

Nice features, but a big flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV because Consumer Reports ratings said it had superior off-axis viewing angles. It absolutely does NOT. If it is mounted above seated eye level (2-3 ft) the picture is truly awful when viewed at an angle. It is pretty good if your eyes are at the same level as the mid-screen, but it is nearly unwatchable if the TV is on a stand that puts the middle of the screen at about 5-6 ft. and you are sitting down and at a 45 degree angle off to the side. It is so bad that I have to go buy a new stand that will lower the tv to about 2 1/2 ft. high at the base of the screen. The picture is also rather dark at the default settings - except for the "test screen", which is what I saw in the showroom. BEWARE!

Not what I expected.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an older model LG TV (55LB7200) with many bells and whistles. I wanted a larger screen so I purchased the 65" SK8000 with several of the same features, but without the 3D. The biggest disappointment is the the local dimming quality of this TV. When using the remote mouse on a black screen you can see the screen is divided into 3 obvious panel sections that become much brighter as the pointer moves across. It's horrible for local dimming compared to other TV's that are available. It's not what I expected from a mid-level 4K TV. I guess one of the OLED's would have been a wiser choice. I like LG and have a few of their products, but this TV is a huge disappointment, and we'll be returning it.
