I will start with what I liked about the tv. I like the IPS panel, the viewing angle is significantly better than VA panels and I was impressed by just how much better it is than the tv I was replacing (a VA panel). The blacks were sufficiently black for me, I added some bias lighting via an led kit and it looked great. I noticed that the blacks are a little gray, but dark enough for me to enjoy the picture quality. I placed my KS8000 next to this and I thought the picture was comparable. The color popped just a bit more on this over my KS8000 and I liked the picture a little bit better. I like LG's software interface and being able to point my cursor at the screen to enter in passwords, etc. Although I found it faster and more intuitive to just use the arrows to navigate quickly for picture settings, etc. The black frame insertion on this television was great and didn't introduce a lot of flicker, which I'm sensitive to, and overall the picture settings available are pretty robust. I went online to rtings.com to get their ideal picture settings, and I thought they were pretty spot on. I did use the local dimming set to high because I found the gray boxes around small light objects were less noticeable on high vs medium or low (Love, Death, Robots intro was a good test on Netflix). Watching SDR content looked fantastic and I was very pleased with the tv and the image quality. If I could force all my hardware to only broadcast SDR, I would definitely have kept this television.
Now for the bad: While using my Fire Stick 4K, it would detect Dolby Vision/HDR and the tv image was complete and utter trash on dark scenes. The dimming zones are pretty big and it creates giant gray boxes all over the screen during dark scenes, even when viewed from directly in front of the television, and looks significantly worse from the sides. Watching the same content on my original Xbox One (no HDR/4K capability) was miles better and looked good, but I don't watch with my Xbox. Total and complete failure. I had to return it. I've attached a picture from Altered Carbon, S1E1. I used this as a test for the dark scenes and you can see here the giant gray boxes. I found that you could turn on the black frame insertion and then raise the brightness (not the backlight) to compensate, but it significantly dims the image and going too high with the brightness grays the image quite a bit. Because I watch most of my content through my Fire Stick 4K on Netflix/Amazon Prime which have Dolby Vision/HDR, this tv did not work for me. And what's the point of advertising Dolby Vision/HDR support when your picture looks terrible? No clue how this ever made it to the showroom floor.
I'm glad that Best Buy has a 15-day return policy, and was one reason I did purchase from here. I was skeptical about the purchase and SDR did impress me but HDR killed it and I returned the tv.

I prefer my TV's to have excellent clarity across both cable TV broadcast and streaming mediums. This TV is simply the best I have owned in terms of the clarity of the picture and the depth of color. My past TV's include the Panasonic ST60 plasma, and the Samsung JS8500 (their first year of Quantum Dot TV's), so I have gotten used to great picture quality, and the SK900 does not disappoint.
The motion handling on this TV is fantastic. If you watch a lot of cable TV and sports then you will really enjoy what this TV has to offer. The quick response time on many of today's TV's often leads to stuttering and blur in the picture, making for an awful viewing experience. LG's upscaling and motion handling is really fantastic on this TV, leading to a picture with great clarity. This carries over to streaming on Netflix and other platforms as well. It makes for a wonderful viewing experience.
The color representation on this TV is also fantastic. The nano cell technology used by LG (related to the Quantum Dot tech on Samsung TV's) makes the color's rich and have quite a bit of depth. They aren't fake looking, though, they just have a depth that is hard to describe in this review without seeing it for yourself. The ISF Dark Room and Technicolor picture modes are best for enjoying the best quality picture available on this TV. There are plenty of adjustment options, but basically if you turn off all the extra processing (Noise Reduction, Motion Smoothing, etc) you will get a fantastic picture. There is also a sports mode if you do want to add extra smoothing for fast paced sporting events (I haven't found it necessary, but some will), and a game mode for those who love to game. This TV input lag is very low (as tested by several review sites), so it is a great choice for gaming.
The smart TV software that LG has developed is great as well. The variety of apps is not as wide as other operating systems (Android TV, Tizen (Samsung), or Roku TV), but it has all the major ones you could want and it extremely smooth. I personally love the Wifi screen sharing that can be done with both laptops (if your laptop has WiDi) and phones. The phone screen sharing is particularly clever, with both a split screen mode and full screen, which is something I had not seen on a TV before.
The SK9000 comes with LG"s Magic Remote. It has a an easy to use voice function for speaking commands, as well as a pointer that allows you to use the remote as a mouse to select items on the screen. I find that feature very handy when entering text or selecting items to watch in Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.
This TV also features Full Local Array Dimming, which increases the quality of the picture when compared to edge-lit displays. This does result in some "blooming" during darker scenes or nearly black screens. This is helped immensely by adding some bias lighting LED strips (I cover this in the next paragraph), which reduces the blooming effect.
The one drawback of this TV that many sites mention are the black levels. The TV uses an IPS panel instead of a VA panel. An IPS screen offers greater viewing angles for off center viewing, but does not have the increased contrast of VA panels, resulting in greyer blacks. I have found that using bias light LED strips have helped immensely with this, as it gives you the impression of deeper blacks on the screen. There are many easy to install options out there, and if you want more info you can Google it online and see what others have to say about it. If you are videophile and truly want deep blacks, then check out the OLED TV's, or a VA panel such as Sony's 900F. They have their own drawbacks as well.
Don't be fooled by the other really bright TV's in the store that try and sway you with their 4k streams. I know that when I went to buy this TV I looked at the OLED's next to it and was like "Hmm, wonder if this is the right purchase?" I had done my research, though, and this TV time and again got great reviews and did not disappoint. Fantastic picture and great clarity win out in the end.

I think for the price i paid on sale it was a very good value, but at full price it would have me wanting to go for OLED technology and not have to see the blooming anymore. What it does well, very bright, great color, awesome detail, deep contrast, and amazing operating system and remote control! The bad is really just the local dimming, if you watch a movie in the dark it can be very obvious especially with subtitles or credits on screen. All in all i really do like this TV!

That a tv can look so good without going to QLED, every time I see this tv on I am in shock of the picture and sharpness and how deep the blacks and reds whites are. If you are wanting something 4K show off to your friends worththy, bit don’t want to spend the money like me for QLED. Then this is the tv for you, also after I orchased next priced matched a online store that had it cheaper, no questions asked, if the item number is the same the match it, I will only buy my big electronics at Best Buy. Works great with Apple TV 4K.

I don’t know where to begin...I have had some of the a Best LG HDTV’s ever, this one preliminary, however, is the BEST yet!
It has everything. It’s a 65” LG SUHD 4K HDTV AI ThinQ Nano Cell Technology, IPS Display, Full Array Dimming, 4K Cinema, HDR Dolby Chip, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Surround, Dolby Equalizer, Built-In Assistant, Native 120-240Hz refresh rate, it pairs with the XBox One X Scorpio perfectly, unlocking every Graphic capability of the console! It has so many features, settings, tweaks, Apps, you name it! I pray it lives up to its legacy. Indeed it is worth it, just watching Sports, or 4K, 1080, 720, media, gaming, is a blindingly great experience, paired with my matching LG sound bar and woofer system, LG 4K Player, Boom, amazing sound. It makes everything so much better. I HIGHLY recommend this unit, it’s fantastic.

Not too long ago, I started looking at remodeling/rearranging my home office. I took some time to really plan out what I wanted from the layout and what I wanted to include with it. One of the main pieces that I wanted to include was a really high-quality television. I had already incorporated a 4K TV into my living room (a 75-inch Sony model), but I found that the LG 65SK9000PUA and felt that it was the perfect fit for my newly redesigned home office.
DETAILS
The 65SK9000PUA is a 65-inch 4K HDR Smart LED television. LG also makes a 55-inch version of this unit. It features 4K Ultra HD (3480x2160) resolution with an A7 intelligent processor. The refresh rate is ‘TruMotion 240’ or 120Hz. The TV also includes a 4K upscaler, which comes in quite handy when watching a high-quality video that is not 4K resolution. The LG 9000PUA has some very smart options built-in like Google Home and Amazon Alexa compatibility. It does have a full web browser included as well as the LG Content Store.
USER EXPERIENCE
The LG 9000PUA arrived in a large box with a full-color image of the product on the outside. Many of the details were stamped around the box and when you opened it, you are met with the stand and many layers of Styrofoam. As a television, there really isn’t a whole lot of set-up with it. You have to place the monitor on its stand or acquire a wall mount for it (we opted to use the stand) and secured it in place. This process only took about 5 minutes. I do advise others that they should have help when moving the television. It’s not overly heavy, but it is awkward and you could risk damaging it if you try to move it on your own. The most difficult part of the set-up is actually deciding where you want it to live in your space. Because it’s a 65-inch TV, I would suggest finding a long enough wall to accommodate it so that it doesn’t make your space feel closed off.
There are quite a few stand-out features that appealed to me with this television. First, I really liked the inclusion of the Magic Remote. I’ve used many, many remotes and tried everything I can to limit the amount of remote I have to use with my television (it’s usually multiple types of remotes based on the home theater system I’m using). Fortunately, with this set-up, I decided to only use the TV with its WebOS and not connect a lot of external devices. Therefore, I can use the single Magic Remote with no interference. It’s worked beautifully and I’m significantly less stressed when it comes to using the TV. I don’t have to fumble with multiple remotes and I can enjoy entertainment much easier. I also really like that the LG television has several different input ports. Even though I’m only using an antenna with this TV, I like knowing that I can quickly and easily connect through one of the three USB ports, composite connectors, Ethernet, optical audio or HDMI.
With televisions, the number one feature you look at is the picture quality. To give a little background, we had a 55” Samsung 1080P HD television with a 120Hz refresh rate. It had a beautiful picture and we have loved it as the cornerstone of our home entertainment system for the past 6 years. Earlier this year, I decided it was time for an upgrade and invested in a 75” Sony 4K television. It is a 2017 model, but the picture quality is incredible. It was definitely a step above the 1080P HD TV that we previously had. And just a couple of weeks ago, I decided to acquire this 65” LG 4K Smart TV. I thought, “Even though it’s a newer model, it can’t be that much better than the Sony TV I just purchased.” I was greatly mistaken.
The picture quality of this LG TV is nothing short of incredible. We watched the first few minutes of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 to test out the monitor because it has such a wide color gamut in a short period of time and with it being in space, you can really see darkness, too. There is one scene where the character, Drax leaps into the mouth of a space creature. We watched it several times and each time, it seemed as though we could reach out and touch the creature. The black levels were so rich that we felt as though we were there. We determined since this television isn’t an OLED display that the reasoning for the dramatic difference between the two 4K televisions in our house has to be the Nano Cell display technology.
CONCLUSIONS
We have been very happy with the picture quality and have even considered replacing the 75” TV with the 65” TV. LG really has a great display and everything we’ve watched on it has been ‘better’ than watching on a normal TV. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this impressed with a display and I’m eager to use it for years to come.

First, the bottom line: this LG 65 inch 4K HDR Smart TV is by far the best LED TV in its price range. Its combination of features, sound quality, aesthetics and picture quality is without match.
There are a number of fine manufacturers of high-end televisions but at the top of mountain in quality and innovation are three brands – two from Korea and one from Japan. LG is one of these three (the other two both start with “S”) and I feel that it has moved significantly ahead of the comparable offerings by the other two with this beautiful and feature-packed televison.
Consider this amazing combination of features:
• Model: LG 65SK9000PUA (introduced at 2018 CES)
• 65” Super UHD LED IPS (In-Plane Switching) Display (3840 x 2160 resolution: 8,294,400 pixels per image frame) with wide viewing angle
• Full array local dimming LED backlight for optimal blacks (up to 20,000 to 1 contrast ratio)
• Nano Cell Color Ultra-Luminance Pro Display with 10 bit color (1,073,741,824 possible colors)
• LG a7 quad-core Intelligent Video Processor to deliver optimized color, clarity and contrast
• Ability to upscale HD images to near 4K quality
• Supports multiple Ultra HDR systems: HDR10, HLG (hybrid log-gamma), Technicolor Advanced HDR (true cinema), Dolby Vision
• Tru-Motion 240 Hz (120 Hz refresh rate) eliminates motion blur from sports and gaming content
• ThinQ AI artificial intelligence technology to enable deep learning, connected features including Google Home and Alexa
• Four speakers deliver 2.2 channel stereo (2 -10 watt full-range speakers, 2 -10 watt woofers)
• Dolby Atmos object-based surround sound
• Magic Remote can control other electronic devices (set-top box, audio system), permits voice control and gives direct access to special features using an on-screen cursor
• Natural language processing delivers intelligent voice recognition for most features and adjustments
• Expanded electronic program guide (adds over-the-air channels to cable and internet channels)
• Multiple video mode and sound profile presets
• Multi-view permits two video sources to be watched at the same time, side-by-side
• Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, YouTube, Sling, Google Play already installed
• LG Content Store with hundreds of additional apps, games, videos
• Screen-sharing function (Miracast, Windows 10)
• 4 HDMI 2.0a/HDCP 2.2 side video inputs (HDMI 2 is ARC)
• 3 USB 2.0 (1 rear, 2 side)
• Composite input
• RS232C mini jack
• Optical digital audio output
• Wireless LAN 802.11AC
• Gigabit Ethernet LAN
• Full web browser and integrated set of applications (WebOS 4.0)
• Bluetooth 4.2 (both inbound from external sources and outbound to headphones)
• Coax input and digital tuner for over-the-air HD channel reception
• Very slim bezel (0.43”)
• 300 mm x 300 mm VESA mount holes
• Semi-gloss screen to reduce reflections
• 57.3” wide x 32.7” tall x 2.5” deep (without 2.9” tall x 12.5” deep stand)
• Weight: 58.6 pounds, 61.9 pounds with stand
• Very power efficient (46 watts in use, 0.5 watt in standby mode)
• 1 year parts and labor warranty
When you invest in a great TV, no matter the brand, you should look at three elements – the beauty of the visual delivery system, the quality of the sound produced and the range and substance of the other features included. Consider each of these.
It is easy to fall in love with the video quality of this TV. The 4K display with 10 bit color, Nano Cell, Ultra HDR and full array local dimming, all managed by the powerful Alpha 7 image processor delivers an absolutely stunning image, easily the best I have ever seen from a non-OLED TV. Since comparable-sized OLED screens are twice the price of this TV, there is just no other set which can match it. There are many preset video modes to choose from (e.g., vivid, standard, cinema, sports, gaming, various HDR effects, Technicolor expert, bright room expert, dark room expert, auto power-save) or calibrate the picture yourself with an incredible degree of precision. You will be absolutely delighted with the video images created by this magnificent TV.
How does the LG 65SK9000PUA achieve this? To meet the Ultra HDR (High Dynamic Range) standard the display has to attain both a very high brightness level and a very dark black level coupled with a vast range of colors presented with very subtle shading between the millions of pixels on the screen. The LG’s full array local dimming gives deep blacks and the10 bit color with the multiple HDR systems supported create a very wide range of colors and brightness levels. The Nano Cell Color used is a significant improvement on the quantum dot technology used by other manufacturers. The individual pixels on the screen are composed of uniform (one nanometer diameter) particles which offer more subtle, accurate colors that can be viewed from a wider angle. Up to 60 degrees off center there is no variation in colors. Finally, the powerful quad-core Alpha 7 (a7) image processor pulls all of this together to create the best possible image in each frame displayed. It creates an effective 240 frame per second refresh rate (Tru-Motion 240) with each of the 8.3 million pixels set to the exact color/brightness level required to achieve the truest image. This also includes upscaling HD content (which has only 2 million pixels in the image) by interpolating the correct color and brightness to the full 8.3 million pixels of the 4K display. It is an amazing combination of technologies and the picture created is just as amazing.
How good is the sound? Most speakers for even the best televisions are just not comparable to the display, yet much of the immersive experience of movies or sporting events comes from rich sound rolling over and around you. The usual solution is to add a sound bar to your TV to replace those pitiful little speakers usually built in to it. However, this LG has the best sound system I have ever heard on any set. I have a very nice 5.1 sound bar which I connected. However, the LG sound is so good that I watched an entire action movie with the sound bar turned off and it seemed there was very little drop off in audio quality. This is due to the 2.2 channel Dolby Atmos sound system. Dolby Atmos is the latest, most advanced form of surround sound system. It delivers sound as “objects” which are placed in three dimensional space rather than in specific channels. The effect is to immerse the listener in the sound. The LG 65SK9000PUA includes two built-in 10 watt full-range speakers and two built-in woofers which are controlled by the Atmos sound processor to create that unique effect. You can also choose to add preset sound modes (e.g., standard, cinema, clear voice, sports, music, gaming) or make your own sound adjustments. If you use this TV in a room where a supplemental audio system would not fit in, the built-in sound system will not disappoint you.
Finally, the third element of evaluating a premium television is the set of added features available. Here you will find that this TV is like one of those Russian nesting doll sets – every time you open up a feature your find another bonus inside!
• All extra features are controlled by LG’s excellent operating system WebOS 4.0
• Of course it has direct access to all of the most popular streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, YouTube, Sling, Google Play) as well as Weather
• The LG Content Store contains hundreds of additional apps and games which can be downloaded directly to the TV.
• The Magic Remote not only controls the TV but also has an on-screen cursor which is very useful for entering data and selecting features. The remote has the ability to add the features of other remotes (like your set-top box and your audio system.) It also has a microphone for interfacing with Google Home. Just ask it any question and it will respond to you!
• A “Live Zoom” feature will zoom in on any section of the screen at up to 300% magnification. Great for checking out the details on some superhero’s uniform or watching the quarterback’s facial expression!
• Multi-view allows you to watch two video sources at the same time, side-by-side, with the sound coming from your selected video source.
• A full-featured web browser which is very easy to navigate, thanks to the magic remote.
• Bluetooth 4.2 allows you to stream music to the TV or to use wireless headphones connected via Bluetooth.
• Device connection is simplified with an on-screen assistant.
• A full user guide is available on screen – no more hunting for that manual or downloaded PDF!
• Screen sharing from a PC or phone is supported and it is effortless.
• “Gallery” provides a rotating set of framed artwork/photos on screen.
• There are so many other features that Best Buy would run out of server space if I tried to list them all!
Support from LG is superb. I called LG a couple of times during the first week after set-up to clarify how to use a feature and received a quick and thorough response. They even have the ability to take control of the TV (with your permission, of course) to show you how to perform some operation.
Aesthetically, the TV is simply elegant, both front and back. The screen has a semi-gloss surface to reduce reflections from room lights and the black bezel is very thin. The back of the TV is a smooth, slate grey with a slight curve so it looks good even from behind. It weighs about 59 pounds so any good wall mount will easily handle it.
Small quibbles: If you connect a sound bar via HDMI ARC the TV’s great internal speakers are turned off. No headphone audio input connector (only option is Bluetooth.)
Bottom line - the LG 65SK9000PUA is an absolutely superb premium television which outperforms every other set in its price range. It is an excellent choice for those who demand the best in every aspect of their life.

This super ultra HD 4k TV will blow your socks off. First impression is that the colors are absolutely fantastic.
Pros:
• Awesome colors
• The “Magic Remote” is intuitive
• Turns on fast
• Zippy menus
Cons:
• Dark corners
• Power cable is short
• Built in google assistant is hokey
One thing I noticed is that the further you sit away from your TV, the less noticeable the 4K resolution is compared to regular 1080P. My 65” tv sits 16ft away and the resolution appears to be the same compared to my prior 1080P tv. The difference is more evident the closer I get to the TV. 4k is no doubt the winner in resolution but the diminishing returns are evident at viewing distances greater than 10ft. My recommendation is to get the largest size you think you will need, then go once size larger. What you will notice at all distances is the vibrant colors this LG produces. Almost better than real life! Youtube and Netflix in 4k will blow your mind.
Hanging the TV was super easy as it took 6mm x 20mm screws (not included). Fairly light under 60 lbs for the 65”. I do wish the power cable were a bit longer. The initial setup was a breeze as it walks you through all the possible setting choices. I do wish that it would explain what the different pictures settings did in greater detail.
Besides the awesome color, the 2nd greatest feature about this LG TV is that it’s very fast for a “Smart” TV. The menus are fast and loading different apps is fast. Something that earlier Smart TVs was notoriously bad for. The included “Magic Remote” is fun to use. It reminds me of using a Nintendo Wii remote. Pointing the remote brings up a mouse-like cursor and allows me to change settings, type in passwords, select on screen items with ease. I do wish that the remote would allow me to fully be compatible with my Xfinity cable box so I wouldn’t have to have two remotes out.
Some of the negatives worth noting are the dark corners, lackluster google assistant, and that the picture only looks best after a bit of tinkering with the picture settings. The dark corners are notorious with LED tvs but this one is no different. You will soon “get use to it” but do you have to at this price point? The built in google assistant is not very useful and not as fast as a regular google home smart speaker. I initially thought you were able to control this LG with my google home smart speaker but found out that you will need a google chromecast dongle to turn the TV on with your voice.
My overall experience is positive and I would recommend this 4k UHD TV to anyone looking for super colors, awesome resolution, and super fast Smart TV.

I purchased this crapy TV back in 2018 for $1,800, just to have it broken after 18 months only, the screen went completely black out of the blue. When i reached technical support, they told me that it will cost $1,700 to fix. That's when i found out that i was ripped off big time. I purchased an LG monitor and an LG tv for my son few months ago, and i'm expecting that they will brake in the next few months for sure. This company build the crapiest product ever, with a duration of less than 2 years. Even my kids toys last more than that. A complete rip off. PLEASE DO NOT BUY!!!!!

The LG 65SK9000 is everything I was hoping for as we updated our living room from a Sony 1080P TV to the new 4K HDR world. This TV displays excellent image quality and runs on an intuitive operating system with useful smart features.
We have a very bight, sunlit, open, living space and this LG IPS full array LED panel significantly improves viewing angle quality compared to our previous Sony edge lit VA display. I was concerned about changing to LG from Sony, I really looked hard at the Sony XBR 900F but felt like I could compromise on the blacks if needed to get a better viewing angle experience in our bright living room. I think it was the right choice.
The nano technology seems like a feature that is actually making a difference, the blacks seems solid to me. This is also a 10 bit panel so the color rendition is outstanding. The panel supports all three major HDR processes-Dolby Vision, HDR-10, and HLG. It is smart enough to know the difference upon input.
HDR takes some getting used to-it seems too bright and contrasty at first in my opinion. However there are many settings to adjust picture quality to taste.
The remote for this TV is outstanding, another major improvement compared to Sony. It learned our Marantz amp to control volume, our Directv box, and our Apple TV. One remote to rule them all!
I love the very slim bezel, it almost looks like edge to edge image. I was able to mount the TV on the wall with a mount from Best Buy which works great.
I'm sure the Sony XBR 900F looks amazing too, I felt it was between these two models for best full array LED, the last stop before OLED. OLED was just out of our price range, but honestly I don't feel like I'm missing it by much regarding picture quality with this premium TV from LG.
I have not used the Google Home function much as we use Alexa more, but I guess it's nice to have as well. For me it's mainly about the picture quality, especially the ability to up convert 1080 content to 4K and this A7 processor seems to do a good job. Again the settings provide many option to adjust picture quality as desired.
Very pleased!

Lg sk9000pua I chose this tv mainly for excellent color and viewing angle because of the large living room. would have bought an Lg Oled but was concerned over burn-in issues. This was the Lg top non Oled tv.
Did a self calibration set-up from Rtings.com. resulting in beautiful picture, eye popping color. Some reviewers complain of blooming on dark scenes. Noticed some bloom with white lettering on black backgrounds but to me not enough to ruin normal viewing. Overall an excellant tv for large viewing area,

We've had an older (5 years older) LG Smart TV, and liked it a lot, so we went looking for a new version. We did compare with other makes, but favor the LG operation system and features. We find it very intuitive and user-friendly. What a difference five years makes. We made sure our new TV had the latest operating system, so it would stay current for years to come. This model even makes streaming easier to figure out. I'm not a natural at this. The picture has deeper colors, and adjusting all of its features was easy. The on-screen remote "wand" was annoying at first, but did not take too long to learn. I set this to automatically update in the background, and connecting to the internet was a breeze. Sorry, have not have any "don't-likes" yet. I think if you get this model, you too will become a fan.

I wanted to upgrade to a new 4K tv, but didn’t want to spend the Oled prices. I wanted to stay in the $1500 price range. I think this tv is as close as you can get to Oled quality, at a fraction of the price. I’m very pleased with it. The clarity is great, the remote and apps are very easy to use and it was easy as can be to set up and connect to WiFi. I was also impressed with the sound. You have to make sure you go and change the setting to turn on the surround speakers, because they come with them automatically off, but once on, I didn’t find I ended up needing to purchase a soundbar. I live in an apartment and found it to be a great volume for me. Also, the tv is super thin, the stand looks unique and the tv just looks sharp in my opinion. Very pleased overall! LG is my favorite!

We had a five year old Smart TV, that was working well, but just didn't have all the latest technology necessary for effortless streaming nor the newer easy to operate "magic wand" remote control. And other neat stuff was also missing 4K, HDR, Dolby and other neat stuff. So it was just time to upgrade. The newer "bells and whistles" just makes watching TV easier and more pleasant. Big improvement in picture quality on many levels, too. We made sure this model had the latest LG operating system too, so it would stay current for years to come.

Overall I was pleased with the performance of this TV, even though I did end up returning it for a different (more expensive) model. The color are beautiful, the remote control is awesome, the TV handles motion very well 99% of the time (see below) and the menus are intuitive and easy to use. I also didn't detect any problems with the local dimming feature when turned to 'high', which some reviewers have complained about (it's possible that whatever problems they had with LD were fixed via firmware updates.) The two complaints I had were: 1. watching soccer with TruMotion turned on caused the ball to flicker, and 2. there was some noticeable color banding in some scenes where a large area of the screen displayed a solid color or a gradient. These are admittedly minor issues, and most people may not even notice them or care too much. I would rate the TV a 9/10 but since I cannot give it 4.5 stars I am rating it 4/5.
