Kept switching the receiver to different sources

Nice TV if you don't have a receiver attached. If you do, and it's not an LG, it will switch sources on its own. We tried for over a week to tame it, but it was not to be. We then replaced it (at no cost - thanks Best Buy!) with a Sony and within an hour, everything worked just fine. Like I said, if you have other LG components or just use the TV's speakers, it ought to work fine, but if you have any components from other companies, then avoid this puppy.

This doesn't sound right. The TV is able to be used with any brand of receiver. It sounds like with some troubleshooting the issue could have been resolved. We hope you consider us again in the future. ^CP LG

    Screen was cloudy and inconsistent

I ended up returning this television. The screen was hazy and cloudy. The first time my six year old saw the tv on, he asked me why the picture looked grey. The tv would light up very inconsistently, and if a bright image was on the screen, almost half the tv would be affected. I don't know if I got a defect, or if this is just the level of performance from this tv, but it was hot garbage.

    Jaw-dropping picture quality!

I bought this TV about two months ago as the main TV in my house for the living room. There are so many TVs on the market and I did tons of research before deciding on this one. I decided on 65” because my living room is not that big and I didn’t want a TV that is too big for the space – although I was tempted. I’m glad I got 65”, it’s plenty big enough for that room. Picture quality is amazing! The 120hz refresh rate makes a huge difference (I knew nothing about refresh rates prior to researching this purchase – but now I get it!). The picture is so crisp and vivid – it’s like actually being there! I cannot image how this display picture could possibly be improved upon! I love the remote! It’s like a laser pointer! It is so much better than having to scroll around typing in letters, now just point at them click – so much faster! The sound straight out of the TV is great too – I did hook it up to my LG sound bar, but only because I already had it mounted right in place. You could very easily go without one, one is not necessary for this television. I watch mostly Netflix, Prime, and Youtube so I was happy with the apps that are included already. Setup right out of the box was easy and straight-forward. Overall, I’m glad that my research led me to this television, I’m extremely happy with my purchase and so impressed with this TV. Highly recommended!

We were excited about this TV as it showed well at the store, but when we got it home, we could not get the colors right. It was our first LG (coming from a Sony) and we tried to mess with the picture setting but could not get it to be consistent. What worked for one show did not work for others. We ended up returning it and exchanging it for a Sony model.

Bought after reading some reviews and excited about future proof features. The tv does not get bright at all, Xbox one x looked horrible colors looked washed out and grey doesn’t matter what setting I used. Returned next day Got Q60 from Samsung and the difference is night and day.

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Good TV, but too much blooming for me.

    Posted .

I think this is an fair TV for most people. Colors are vibrant and natural looking. Brightness is very good. Contrast is very good. Blacks are reasonably deep with Local Dimming turned ON. SDR playback is good. HDR playback is very good. Input Response (playing video games) is just ok. Motion handling (playing video games) was sometimes blurry. Overall I liked the TV, but that being said, I still returned mine because the blooming was too distracting to me. I watch a lot of horror movies with dark scenes so it kinda makes for a less than desirable viewing experience. Even after calibrating the screen using the guide from RTINGS, I could not get it to my personal liking. When running a local dimming test, the transitions are very abrupt and the dimming zones seem few and quite large. I could only detect 4 large vertical columns. The blooming is far reaching and creates a hard line of light along each edge of each dimming zone. I also noticed some dirty screen effect (DSE) on the right side of the screen when playing a Red Dead Redemption and Madden 19... To sum it up, If you use this TV in a well lit room I think you will be happy with it. If you use this TV to watch horror movies in the dark, you may find that the blooming is too distracting.

    Not perfect but still great!

I looked at this TV at the store for a couple of weeks before I decided to jump on it. My list of reasons for picking this TV: -Price -Color accuracy (not saturated like what samsung does but some people like that) -All the HDMI 2.1 ports with decent low latency mode for gaming -WebOS...blows all other smartTV interfaces out of the water Your priorities for a TV may not match up with mine but for me the LG nanocell checked off most of what I wanted. Now my perfect TV would have been a 75" OLED TV but with my given budget I struggled with the compromises that different TVs had. That being said I don't think I would buy this TV, as some have mentioned, if you're into dark horror scenes. The black levels are obviously going to be better on an OLED but the samsung qled and vizio quantums seem to edge out this nanocell too. Now the LG is by no means horrible. My wife and I were able to pick out much more detail with the infamous Game of Thrones dark battle episode with this TV versus our 5 year old 1080p LED tv. Depending on the settings we did see some blooming and washed out gray areas, but I LOVED how this TV can be tweaked in different ways to get your perfect picture. If you have the patience, you can make the already good picture more to your liking with the level of control.

After only 21 months of use the only life in the TV is the little red light on light. Possibly the diodes gone bad but expensive to repair. I have lost all faith in LG products.

Im a tech need when it comes to TVs and Best But could easily back up that claim. Let me first say, i haven’t found. TV that has been as good as the last Plasma (Samsung) offered. However, I’ve become a huge fan of the LG OLED’s. Last year i purchased both the 55” and 65” for our entertainment spaces. Recently we decided to finally say good bye the 68” Samsung plasma. At first we thought, let’s save some money since it’s just our master bedroom. Big mistake. We purchased the LG 7300 on sale for 549. After an easy set up, we found that there was bad pixels and the quality of picture wasn’t even remotely ok. So back to Best Buy. After some reviews and looking at customers home pics of their units, we settled on t he LG 65SM90. We could NOT be happier. After some tweaking to this TV. You almost can’t tell the difference from the OLEDs. No motion blur, no ghosting and nothing but great picture!! The 4K content on Netflix is literally to die for!! I’ve been sold on LG and will always be.. but make sure you do some research on which one you end up .. it matters!!!
