You have to go with the app and that's my biggest disappointment. 23 weeks after I used this item I had a complete meltdown because I was informed that unless I agreed to all its terms to give away and sell my personal information and that it was going to collect all my data or else I cannot continue to use the app as my remote control. Without this app on the phone you cannot use the product. I regret the day I bought it. Its an "AI" trap.

Broadcasts its own WiFi network you can’t turn off. All of LGs apps are trash, so haven’t managed to get to an interface to see what kind of tweaking I can do, but paired with an LG OLED TV, does make for a pretty straightforward plug and play solution with theater quality sound. Also the mounting adapter on the back of the satellite speakers is an inane thread size (M4) which I had to find an adapter for to ¼” thread for standard tripod wall mounts. Purchased open box unit for a real steal.

Soundbar was a different model and additional speakers. Ultimately only was able to return items for a refund. Hince low rating.
