My first one had a bad sub-woofer and the second one would turn off randomly. I ended up just buying a Yamaha receiver and Bowers & Wilkins speakers.

Wow, for $700, this is a superb soundbar! I tested it against 3 other soundbars, including the $2,000 Yamaha ATMOS soundbar (the gold standard), and this LG blows it away with clearer sound, more bass punch. I picked up on more sound details in movies and TV shows that I did not hear on other soundbars. I been missing out. Slimmer soundbars lack large size mid range speakers, which gives you that center channel for clearer voice. I use it for Directv HD, iPhone music, BluRay, PS4.

Does not support 4K passthrough, bass is lacking

If you have a 4k TV and plan to connect your video devices to this soundbar directly, then get something else. This will only accept a max video signal of 4K at 30Hz. It will not accept a 4K 60Hz signal, which is the industry standard. 30Hz makes everything too choppy and strains my eyes. It gives me headaches. Nobody is going to buy such an expensive soundbar to use in conjunction with a TV that costs less (1080p). People are buying this to use with their expensive 4K TVs. Why would LG not support 4K@60Hz? This isn't an old soundbar, but it is definitely outdated. The major issue at hand is that most TVs on the market will not accept a 7.1 sound signal. They only accept a max of 5.1 surround. So if you connect your device to your TV, and then have your TV pass the audio to this soundbar, then you cannot enjoy the 7.1 sound. You will get 5.1. So, the only way to get 7.1 is to connect your bluray player, game console, or whatever directly to the soundbar. Unfortunately, this means that your video will suffer. The soundbar cannot pass through a 4k signal at 60hz. It can only pass through 30Hz max. I'm a gamer and it makes the video very choppy. So it is a lose-lose situation. You either sacrifice your video or you sacrifice your audio quality. May as well get a nicer 5.1 soundbar. Also the bass is seriously lacking. It does OK for the most part, but the lower frequencies are almost completely ignored. Not what you'd expect from a 12" driver. My cheap $200 surround system had far superior bass. Playing music via music flow sounds nice (which is over wifi), and music flow itself is nice. I give it an additional 2 stars for that. This is an all around disappointment for a "flagship" sound device.

Sounds sweet does not work with Samsung

This bar soundbar sounds great. It's full sound but a bit centered sounding and not as wide as I wish but it rocks. Played a 4K Metallica live concert at the 60 level and it never distorted. Clear voice with movies and tv shows. Bad news, if you have a Samsung TV and wish to use it with the Samsung universal remote (remote that comes with the tv) it will not work. I tried it on my Samsung KS8000 and on a friend's KS8000. I returned the bar and got another one thinking that it was an issue with bar but it had the same issue. If you have an LG it's great choice.

    Frustrating & Infuriating

This is the most frustrating and infuriating electronic device I have ever owned. Getting it to sync to my LG TV not only takes a lot of time, but it is an aggravating hit or miss affair. Sometimes it syncs. Most times it does not, which requires turning on the TV multiple times (yes, this is the actual remedy prescribed by LG!). Even the best case scenario requires turning on the soundbar, counting to 20, and then turning on the TV. Simply awful. Extremely disappointed.
