Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the double ovens as a favorite feature, with many praising their independent operation and convenience. The ease of use and attractive design also receive positive feedback. However, some users express concerns about the knobs being inadvertently turned on and the difficulty in thoroughly cleaning certain areas. A short warranty period is another point of concern for some customers.

nice stove, be careful of knobs waist high

Nice features but knobs placed on front turn so easily that burners turn on when you accidentally brush against them. The high power fast boil came on and cracked the turkey platter. Timers are persistent and hard to turn off, so when using both ovens it is easier to use a separate mechanical timer that shuts up when you turn it off. One nice feature is that oven stays on after timer ends so you dont have to reset temp etc: if your cake needs a couple more minutes. There is a burner for every purpose and size pan. Oven features and broiler take some experience to get used to. Convection roast is set to do chicken, not large roasts or turkey, so I used convection bake for 17 pound turkey and it did well. Not for home with toddlers because of knob placement.

This is an overall good stove. The two ovens are quite convenient as we like to cook a lot and it comes in handy for multiple dishes however, All the numbers on the knobs are coming off so you don’t know what your settings are when using the stove top. The replacement knobs are ridiculously expensive and hard to find. The knob should be either in graved or etched Show that if the black comes off at least you can still see your settings

Great idea but a word of caution

First, watch out for the knobs. You can lightly bump into one while walking around your kitchen and turn on the stove without even realizing it. If you have kids check this out before purchasing it as it could be a hazard, especially if you have a gas stove. The knobs just don’t have any resistance and turn on too easily. Honestly, if you have children then think hard before buying this range, I believe the stovetop surface is a bit fragile and prone to scratches and pitting. I don’t think I can use my cast iron skillet anymore, which saddens me. I love the double oven with the convection feature, although I have yet to fully explore all those options.

Only has a one year warranty and the timers are broken at less than two years. If you're into extended warranties, be sure to get one for LG products.

Quality of double oven is fair at best. Lower over difficult to get items in and out. Upper oven is efficient for small items. Stovetop is difficult to use with large burners each having two or more sizes and glasstop shows every speck.

Wasn't a fan of the double door after we got it home. Too easy to bump your hand on the door when taking out a hot pan. Next time I will be sure to buy an oven with a full size door.

Unexpected Shortcomings for this Price Point

We were very excited to get this oven and spent considerable time researching ovens prior to purchase. Although we have largely enjoyed using this oven, there are a few shortcomings that I wouldn't expect for an appliance in this price range. 1. The cooktop is "textured" as versus smooth glass which makes it hard to clean. 2. As mentioned by others, it is VERY easy to accidentally rub against the knobs and turn the burner on by mistake. Within 3 minutes of installing the stove, I accidentally bumped a knob and turned on a burner. Our family has had to consciously get in the habit of not leaving flammable things on the cooktop (like a box with leftover pizza, for instance) for fear that the burner will accidentally get turned on and start a fire. The idea that my teenager might forget to pay attention to this scares me. 3. I'm surprised that nobody else has mentioned the too-wide spacing of the racks. When you put a thin crust pizza on a rack, the rails are spaced so far apart that the edges of the pizza droop and toppings and cheese quickly drop into the oven. Normally I would say no big deal and use a pizza stone, but the top oven has a specific "pizza" mode that negates the use of a pizza stone. LG needs to offer replacement racks with the rails closer together. I like this oven, but if I had it to do over again, I would choose a different model.

Hey Troy, thank you for your detailed review on your oven it is very important to us. It is great to hear that you like the oven overall besides there being some features of the oven you like more than others. I can understand how frightening it may be for the burners to easily turn on and for you to have to be extra careful placing things on the stove top. If there is anything we can do to assist in the near future feel free to reach out to us directly at 1(800)243-0000 via Facebook https://www.facebook.com/LGUSSupport or Twitter @LGUSSupport. ^TH LG

The stove top is a NIGHTMARE to clean

Unless you are completely fastidious about cleaning this, expect to have discolorations and marks start to appear very quickly. I use baking soda and castille soap to clean it with the recommended scrubbing sponge. Yes, I realize you're meant to use the cleaner they recommend but I do not wish to further pollute our Lakes with chemicals. If you have a spouse who is not on board with keeping it looking new, forget it. I wish we had never bought this and gotten an induction stove instead, as the glass itself doesn't get as hot. Things just get baked on so easily despite using a scraper. Apart from that the stove is nice. But it doesn't make up for the cleaning issue.
