Completes the LG 3.1.2 sound bar system!

They go together so it makes sense to buy them together. It complete the 5.1.2 surround system. Good for everyday and even better when watching movies on Netflix. It gives you a theater quality experience at home.

Not rear channels.

The first soundbar I used was the sn6 a 3.1 and these functioned as side surround not rears. The second was sl9yg a 4.1.2 with side firing speakers. The side firing speakers and these shared a channel so no real surround function, on dobly Atmos and dts x they functioned as height channels. Finally on the sl10yg a 5.1.2 bar these functioned the same as on the 4.1.2 no rear channel activity as that came from the side speakers on the surround bar. Look elsewhere at another brand or pay the extra and get the LG sn11rg if you actually want rear surround speaker functions.

They do an alright job but I believe wired surround speakers are better suited to achieve the sound direction definition that most people want when setting up their home theaters.
