I decided to upgrade and get the rear speaker set, but haven't been impressed. They consistently disconnect while the video & front soundbar continue. Next time, I'll opt for a 5.1 set, likely a different brand.

This item came up on sale so I figured I'd see if it made a difference and it did! Total Theatre like sound now. Super happy with it.

LG definitely left the rear atmos support out because they want to have room for improvements in the future model. I hope that they will provide atmos speakers in the near future. I wouldn't buy these speakers again at the current price.
