This TV surpassed my expectations in many ways. Packaging: The 75 inch LG SUPER UHD TV with AI ThinQ was well packed with Styrofoam forms around it. Set up: Set up was easy. It took only a few minutes to attach the stand and plug it in. It took very little time to find the network and connect with apps such as Netflix. Probably the easiest setup I’ve ever had for a product like this. Ports: There are 4 HDMI ports. Two HDMI ports support Audio Return Channel. It also has 3 USB ports, 1 RF-In port, 1 Composite-In port, 1 Ethernet port, 1 Digital Audio-Out port, and 1 RS232C Mini Jack port. I love how well thought out the number and placement of the ports are. I have a few peripherals and had no problem getting everything attached. WiFi: It has built in WiFi, WiFi Direct, and Bluetooth. It comes with Google Assistant installed and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home if you have those products. Picture Quality: The product advertises superior depth, sharpness, and superbly accurate color and it does not disappoint. There are more than a billion colors which help it achieve a truer image including more realistic color and deeper blacks. The colors and blacks remain true even at a wide viewing angle. Sound Quality: The TV has Dolby Atmos which LG states is a leap forward from surround sound and gives more detailed sound experience. I must agree with that. The sound quality is superb and definitely delivers a surround sound quality experience. Profile: The depth is very thin which means it takes up less room. The display has a very narrow frame around it which is another feature which helps to avoid wasted space. Pros: By far the best pro is the picture quality, followed closely by the superb sound. I also love the many ports and sleek styling. Cons: None

The LG Thinq AI is complete garbage

I purchased two LG smart Thinq AI TV's, and have had nothing but trouble with both of them. They won't follow commands, they require you to login in over and over. And their tech support is horrible. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with them yesterday trying to get it to work, and have currently been on hold with them for 30 minutes. To give you an idea of their level of knowledge - after being with tech support for over 20 minutes they actually asked me what Google Home was - asked if it was similar to Alexa. Seriously! I will never buy another LG product - absolutely unacceptable!

This is for sure a bit overkill, but this TV replaced my older 46" flat screen, so it is much bigger than I had before. So much bigger, in fact, that you gotta be sure to measure the space you have to make sure it will fit!! this screen is actually bigger than the video projector screen I used to use for special movie nights. I had a couple of challenges setting it up. First, make for certain that you have space for it. Second, follow the unboxing instructions!! There's even a video where LG shows you exactly how to safely remove it from the packaging. You'll for sure need a buddy. Make sure you have two people available who can each lift and hold 60 pounds up above the height of your TV stand. Then, give yourself plenty of time to get your stuff plugged in and to configure the TV. It had to reboot a couple of times for software updates, and I found it took me a while to get used to navigating around the system. Once I got it hooked up, wow! I tune in HD things, like cable channels, netflix, amazon prime video, the picture is bright and brilliant and sharp. It's also really cool that I can view it from wider angles than my old TV, so I don't have to rotate it if I move to a different part of the room. What stood out for me is that when you watch lesser video, it doesn't look nearly as awesome. Non-HD television looks a bit dull and not as sharp (fuzzy? blurry? I can't figure out a good way to describe video that's soft). Even DVDs look relatively low-fi compared to the HD pictures you get from newer sources. I'm gonna need a new blu-ray player! And I might have to replace my video collection!! Anyway -- you get a lot of great quality, and I'm stunned by the retail price of this. I paid almost double for a 46-inch TV about 10 years ago. I recommend this one! Just be prepared to be disappointed with the quality of older video.

Read the Manual and calmly adjust the settings

Item was delivered by 2 guys into our hallway and box was in great shape. Takes two to move this beast around. Replaced a 60" Samsung doorbuster. Eyes are 9' from screen, usually a dark room. TLDR: Great choice if a $8.99995K 77" OLED ain't your scene and you'd like to get a more immersive experience than a 65". Sound: Haven't yet, and won't use built in speakers due to an existing Denon-powered 7.2 surround setup. Apps: Don't use them because my apple 4k does it all Connections: see specs Picture: At first, I was disappointed with letterboxed and dark scene picture. Days of "here and there" setup later, there are still minor lightbleed artifacts during title scenes and very isolated objects on a black background. Overall it is much better than the "cool, got the source to show the correct input, lets huddle and analyze the picture quality RIGHT NOW" moment I had, which is not a good idea before really getting up in them settings. There are websites which give recommended settings, but the main takeaway should be the backlight setting and contrast setting need to be quite high, as the brightness setting needs to bring your black levels of letterbox bars down to the minimum candela. I can't emphasize enough that it's best to turn all the mpeg reduction/motion control/etc. off. Set your sources to 24Hz and let the TV show it that way. As soon as any TV starts filling in cinema frames with simulated frames for smoothing, the film or show looks garbage and CGI-laden. I had moments of concern before getting the picture to where I like it. Now 1080p movies/shows streamed from an apple 4K TV: the colors pop, the neon signs glow, and edges are more crisp than I thought possible with 1080p. Blu Ray looks seriously cinematic, and Native Dolby Vision content is as good as I've ever seen. My dad has the 17B OLED. It's all about settings/calibration, folks. REMOTE: Didn't like it much and ditched it as soon as I added the new TV to my Logitech universal. I've had it for less than a week so I'm sure it will look even better after a few more minor tweaks a month from now. NOT SAD!

    Great TV , Great Price

For this 2018 4k TV, the picture is quite good! Both Hockey & Football games look great! I was looking at the 850F & 900F by Sony, I will say this TV does not fall short. Crisp picture with bright colors. For a non OLED tv for $2000 75”, you cannot go wrong. I watched the Solo movie and the blacks looked fine. West Paterson’s sales guy personally delivered my TV when the TV did not arrive at the store on the promised date. Good customer service!

Well you start off with how to unpack the tv out of the box with a video. Thought it was an overkill but so much went into the packing to make the tv safe it was well worth it. Hook ups are fairly easy. What a picture. Totally awesome not the slightest bit of dissaapointment. Sound is ok , not like a home theatre but adequate. So many adjustments to suit your tastes but easy to get to and try different options. Still exploring but extremely pleased thus far.

This tv is amazing. Sound is rich and makes you feel like you have speakers all over the room. The build quality is phenomenal with a slick look both front and back. Picture is amazing and gaming on it is a dream. If you purchase this you will not be able to go back to a non LG tv again. Purchasing a small Lg for bedroom as well after seeing how well they make them. Negatives? Yes, very heavy! You will need a friend or family member to assist you, don’t muscle it! Oh crap almost forgot my favorite feature. The remote and smart tv options are so cool. Using Google voice to change channels etc is lazy but so much fun too. Highly recommend!

I wish I had returned it!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I wish I had returned this TV as soon as I unboxed it. It's been disappointing from the get-go. The picture quality was good, but not great and the local dimming is terrible. The "blooming" of the light areas spoiling the dark is the worst I've seen. The audio is just OK. The analog A/V inputs are achieved with a cheap converter that condenses the 3 inputs into 1 headphone size jack. The worst part though is LG's service. With less than 35 hours of "on time" the TV suddenly developed vertical and horizontal stripes in the picture. After a call to LG's off-shore, difficult to understand customer service they said they would fix it. Then when the technician arrived they changed their mind and said that it appears to be physical damage and therefore refused to do anything. The TV is mounted on the wall, out of the way. There is no way that anything hit it! LG said that they couldn't prove that it was physical damage, but even if they suspect that it could be, they will do nothing. Now I have a very expensive, useless black box mounted to my wall. I have been a loyal LG customer for a long time. I have an LG Washer & Dryer, 2 LG refrigerators, 2 LG LED TVs (one useless now), 2 LG 4K BlueRay players and other LG products. This is the first time I have had to deal with LG's customer service and it makes me regret my loyalty to LG all these years. I'll never buy another LG product!

    Disappointed

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I want to start by saying that this TV has a great picture and I really like the size. It took me a little while to get it adjusted to my liking (I found some settings online). I've watched it in bright daylight and at night with the lights out and it worked just fine as far as picture quality. I haven't watched any sports on it yet so I can't rate it in that category yet. My disappointment comes from the lack of apps. I wanted a "Smart" TV so I could use my Apple TV on my old TV, but that isn't happening. I couldn't even find HBO Go in the App store, let alone Discovery Go, History or any of the other popular Apps. Sure, it has Netflix, HULU and a couple of others, but they don't have all the shows I like to watch on-demand. The only good thing is that I already have an Apple TV, but if I didn't, I'd truly be sad. The other thing that really irks me is the audio/video sync. Why to the TV makers even screw around with those. In all my years I've never had to adjust my TV to get the lips to sync with the voice. How annoying. I've tried all of the recommended settings using my sound bar and it only lasts a short while. I have basically given up on using my sound bar, which is a bummer. This is the reason I only gave three stars. As I read in another review, if the sync is distracting enough, it doesn't matter how good the picture is. My only hope is that LG can come up with an update that solves the issue and, they add more apps to their store.

I couldn't be happier with this TV. Not just the 4K picture but everything that I have viewed is remarkably superior. I'm using a soundbar with the TV but I have to say that the built-in speakers are incredible. It's amazing that speakers that small and thin can do what they do!

I was really excited to upgrade my TV from my previous 65" LG which I absolutely loved. Unfortunately there is a horrible cloud that always exists on the top right corner of this TV. It's really distracting and takes a lot of the fun out of the new TV, I can't, not stare at it. It almost completely ruins whatever I'm watching. I really expected more for $2,000. I should have gone with the Samsung 8000 which is no longer on sale... That being said I think I might return this one and pay up for the Samsung even though it's now much more than I wanted to spend. I just can't see myself being happy spending this much already for a TV that I cant enjoy.

I ungraded from an 8 year old 65" Panasonic Plasma to this 75" LG. What a disappointment. I tried to watch football on this set and had to turn the channel. I have made a lot of adjustments but no help. I still get a lot of blur. This morning, while watching the news, the traffic lady walked four steps and I go blur.
