Worst tv ever for dark rooms

The image is beautiful in a very brightly lit room and if you’re watching bright action movies. The good stops there. The backlight flicker (despite hours of calibration) is terrible. The halos and glow effect in literally every dark scene make this tv the worst viewing experience I’ve ever seen. These look great in the super bright store setting but get it home and it’s buyer beware.

I really thought this would have the greatest picture ever but I have other tvs with better clarity. During darker scenes there is a halo around the lighter objects.

I only use the internet connection and every time I turn on this tv, it defaults to tv stations which are not present so I get snow and the loud sound. Went to where I bought the TV and was basically blown off. I bought this tv at the Athens store.

I spent a ton of time researching a new tv and wound up buying this one due to all the features. I’ve always bought Samsung, but decided to give LG a try. Watching a movie the first night I noticed this weird “halo” effect around bright objects on a black background. Also the blacks looked washed out and the picture overall was kind of hazy. I tried changing numerous settings and couldn’t clear up the picture. If you research you will see other reviews about this halo effect. I have already replaced this with a Samsung Q70 and couldn’t be happier.

    Worst Black Levels

I can not say how disappointed I am in this TV! It has the absolute worst black levels I’ve ever seen, and the local dimming causes such dramatic changes in brightness it can’t be left on. This TV has great features and beautiful colors, but if your going to watch movies in a dark room buy something else. I spent 4 days calibrating this tv until I finally returned it for a QLED.

    Awesome TV

I recently bought LG Nano 8 Serious 75’’ TV and I am loving it. It a 4K TV and the picture quality very distinguishable from my old Samsung LED 6 series. LG TV’s are brighter by default, coupled with 4K feature, anyone can experience an amazing TV time. Very clear, and loud Sound, I can tell these devices have latest sound quality. Tons of built-in features. TV via internet is seamless, it is easy to connect and browse. I am still looking at ways I can use my phone to do typing, but I have liked their remote…..it is like a pointer mouse. Installing TV apps is easy and fast, connecting to smart phone is easy and it doesn’t drop. You can partition the screen to see multiple resources at the same time. I tried to use my TV as an extended monitor, it made browsing fun. I am sports guy, and I am watching NBA finals these days. I connected my Sound bars and Booster to this TV, bum….I felt like I am in front of these big Street screen TV’s…. Sports watching can’t get better. One more thing, switching from one resource to another is easy….just press the home button….I value ease of access versus quality, and this TV is very easy. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is a great TV, new HDMI 2.1, full array local dimming. Dolby Atmos support for built-in speakers or pass-thru. Impressive quality picture, vivid colors. Excellent black level. I can see more details when watching dark scenes. Love the on-screen pointer feature of remote control. Much better than our recently purchased 65NU8000 TV. A little expensive but worth it if one has the budget for it.

Sports and fast moving shots are absolutely unwatchable. When watching sports, the ball and players legs would sometimes disappear. I got a replacement tv and the same thing happened with the new one.

This is our first LG TV. So far it has surprised me with great Picture Quality, Sound and User interface. Remote control, Voice commands, Google Assistant, Web surfing and IP Channel are the features that make this TV superior than its many competitors. Watching 4K content with HDR . watching experience is pleasing than you can think of.The NanoCell™ Display provides greater color accuracy and unveils a spectrum of a billion rich colors. The TV was well packaged. It was super easy to set up. We really like the sleek and slim design and picture quality is amazing.i highly recommend it. The LG 75" LED - Nano 9 Series TV is huge, and has an extremely nice clear picture, and a very good strong sound. Honestly this LG TV doesn't disappoint, it is thin, and the vibrant colors and clarity is just what the family was looking for in a TV. Not only does this TV provide a beautiful picture to enjoy your movies, and shows, but you can easily do streaming with Netflix, Vudu, Youtube, Prime Video, Sling, and Google Play, and so much more. I really like this this LG Smart TV! I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.

All my other TV’s have been Sony. This Nano 9 won me over this time, Especially having HDMI 2.1. The colors are amazing, Especially for gaming. The sound, display and design are top tier. The only negative I have is the stand could be more sturdy. Btw, I hear people complaining about white blotches on dark scenes. Turn down your Backlight to 65-70%, Problem solved. All around great Value!

Received this tv last month and still amazed at the picture guiltily, I also have a LG OLED and compared side by side you can’t hardly tell a difference. This 75” retails for almost half what I paid for my 65” OLED two years ago. I would highly recommend this tv. I currently have this in my den to watch Netflix and other streaming services, and all look very good. I’m not a fan of WEB OS but since I have another LG I am used to it and it works. I have tried a couple video games on the game mode,Call of Duty and Red Dead Redemption 2 ,and they look very good and response times are good. I find that the expert bright mode looks the best to me for regular broadcast tv. The magic remote is great, For now I will be leaving this tv in my den and move my OLED to the bedroom.

Have had it for a week and very happy with this tv. Picture and motion flow is very nice. Speakers good too but I am running sound thru a soundbar. That would be my only con about this tv. Hdmi Arc input doesn't work. I was told by a Best Buy salesperson that it's an issue with LG. So I have to use an optical cable. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars, the screensaver feature is pretty cool too. Looks like you have a giant painting on your wall!

Very nice picture but suffers from HDR blooming

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It is a very nice TV, but if you intend on using HDR, look elsewhere. The blooming issue is significant. For those who don't know what that is, think of darker scenes with halos of foggy light around people. Most of the dark scenes look cloudy. I will be keeping the TV. I run everything through a Roku Premium+ and I forced the Roku to disable HDR by setting the display to 4K 60Hz. Now for the blacks. In order to get deep black colors, I set local dimming to High. I've been playing around with the color settings and honestly standard looks great to me. This TV does have HDMI 2.1 and eARC so it is ready for the future. I can only hope LG can fix the blooming issue with a software update. I repeated my tests using the built-in apps instead of the Roku. Netflix was in HDR and still had the same blooming issue. Disney+ used Dolby Vision and was only slightly better. Recommended only if you can live with HDR disabled.

We have been looking for a new TV for years that allows the attachment of headphones and tv sound. This has it. We have a dual external Bluetooth adapter that allows us to use our headphones but also provides the use of the tv speakers simultaneously. Very easy setup and has a great picture. Love it.

The Pictures on this TV are pretty awesome

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The picture on this set is pretty special when you're looking at great content. However, if you've got a dead pixel or light bleed good luck getting LG to fix it. I put in a service call for light bleed from the edges watching 4k content with Black(gray) bars and they kept telling me to turn of FALD. Go figure one of the biggest selling points of the TV and they wanted me to turn it off. That made no sense to me. They sent a 3rd party tech out and he saw the issue and we even saw a couple dead pixels when looking at the issue. After 2 months of waiting on a resolution, all i got was a notification that the case was closed. I thought LG's service would be stellar, since i have an Oled model too and they had to come fix this one and there was no issue with repair and that TV is working wonderfully. From what i can tell they don't care as much about repairing these as they do oleds.
