Big mistake. Terrible picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was initially going to purchase the same size Samsung QLED, but the LG was less than half the cost and the salesperson in the store believed them to be comparable. I agreed that the picture looked close to the Samsung on the display models, but after a day in my home trying every available adjustment to get a watchable picture, I was literally sick to my stomach with regret. There are no adjustments for color or brightness or hue or anything visual, only modes like Sports, Cinema, Vivid, HDR Effect, etc. The Sports and Vivid modes are not even an option as they present much brighter but grossly oversaturated and unnatural colors. The other modes are mostly too dark and not true to color either. I watch some live sports and I found there is no way to get grass to look like any grass I ever saw without sacrificing brightness, and even then the picture is not as good as the 10-year-old Sharp I am replacing. And the worst part is the blacks! Any show with a dark scene is made entirely unwatchable by bright halos around anything that is even slightly brighter. Now I know why the price is so much lower and have initiated a return/exchange for the set I should have purchased to begin with. I'm at a complete loss as to how this set is reviewed so positively. Maybe my eye is just off, but I photograph wildlife full-time and consistently receive complements on my work, so I honestly don't think so.

Posted .Many times picture quality troubles can be resolved with a few tweaks to the settings. We have a help library article that recommends the settings for getting the best picture settings: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product-help/CT10000018-20150577528034-menu-settings If you're in need of some guidance with using your TV, please head to our support page at @LGUSSupport on Twitter or you can give us a call at 800-243-0000 so a specialist can help out. ^CP

Lack of app support including Apple TV app
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy any LG smart TV, I was informed at time of purchasing my 2 Lg TVs they would be supporting the Apple TV app along with HomeKit and airplay2, however since I purchased 2 of their smart TVs 5 months ago they have decided to not support the Apple TV app, instead they will support streaming from an iPhone. Very unproductive way of transmitting video. There are better TVs such as the Samsung and Sony that provide full support of the Apple TV app built into the TV as well as all the other major apps. Also, in order to use the smart TV features-you must accept all their privacy acknowledgments which allow the many companies to monitor, track and sell your data. I will make all efforts to sell these TVs at a loss and find a manufacturer who supports the Apple TV app and does not require me to share my personal info so they can profit.

Posted .The Apple TV app is coming to our platform in the future. In the meantime, customers with AirPlay 2-enabled LG smart TVs can play Apple TV+ original shows and movies from the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac directly to their smart TVs. ^CP
