    Dark scenes too dim/black crush

HDR and DV dark scenes the screen are too dim even in a light controlled basement. Returned the 77cx and going with led. The tvs up scaling ability was weak compared to other offerings. I read forums and tried all kinds of settings. Ended up turning deep color off in order to force SDR and set the OLED light to 90 in isf picture settings. Which is supposedly bad for the longevity of OLED. Maybe have better luck with the LG G1 or Sony A90J if you have to have OLED. Or stick with QLED models. I wanted to like the cx but it didn’t feel like a new tv compared to a 6 year old HU9000 that I have. The screen was big yes, and daylight scenes looked amazing. But the loss of detail in darker scenes on Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, was too much, I couldn’t keep the tv when every time a dark scene came on it was all I could focus on. Gaming on Ps5 over looked good, until I played destiny 2. Had to adjust the brightness higher just to see some darker levels which caused poor contrast.. If you have doubts about OLED save your self the headache and go with a different tech.

Bought in 2021. The TV would turn on and have green horizontal lines from time to time and not display anything else. The tv now needs replaced as it won't turn the picture on at all, only green lines.

    Known Quality Control Issue

Buyer Beware, these oleds suffer from something called Grid or horizontal lines. Just type lg cx and Grid or horizontal lines after it, and you will see numerous people talking about this defect. Basically, the tv has faint horizontal and sometimes vertical lines that could be seen on bright highlights, white, and blue screens. These especially show up on anime and skyboxes of videogames. LG is well-aware of this issue, but have done nothing to fix it. You will see in your search that these complaints go back to early 2020. At this price, it is unacceptable to have these flaws. Just keep in mind that LG produces all oled panels for all companies, so these defects are also showing up on Sony's A90J and A80J and the newer LG's C1 and G1.

Picked up the TV in the Stroudsburg store got it home, unpacked it, there was no remote and the screws were missing to attach the base to the TV. Called the number for the Stroudsburg store they are not taking calls at the store. Spoke with someone from the call center, Ordered the screws received one screw in the mail a week and a half later, base takes six screws, Placed another order for the remote and the other five screws got the run around for a while finally found someone who knew how to find the specs for the TV and was able to get me the remote and the five screws two weeks later. That’s my experience with this particular TV so far when I get it up and running I’ll write a review on that.

Its marketted as a good display for gaming, but it is incompatible with pretty much all third party devices. I'd tried PS5, XBOX, PC, DVD. None of them work. LG doesn't consider it a warrantee issue if your third party devices can't connect to the TV (even if it is every 3rd party device), so you'll be out a lot of money with a TV that can only stream Netflix. Otherwise, it works fine with Netflix if that is all you need it for. Just be sure to deactivate the AI services, because they are poorly implemented.

My TV looks pretty good but not as good as it did in the store. It starts out pretth fuzzy but aftef a few minutes it starts to get a decent picture. I blame this on my internet provider. I hope I am eventually proven to be correct in my assumption.

This is the second LG OLED TV I have owned. The picture quality is amazing, but unfortunately I will be thinking twice before ever purchasing another one. Why do companies think it is acceptable to cram ads into every product? I have disabled every ad-related setting available, but still get popups advertising things like Apple TV in the top right corner of the screen. It most often happens shortly after turning the TV on, but has also happened randomly during use. Not cool, LG.

Worse picture than the TV it replaced

Really quite disappointed with this TV. The quality is far poorer than my Vizio TV that this replaced. "Tweaking" the modes simply doesn't produce any improvement. With a 1 GB internet (250 MBPS + at the TV and hard-wired), anything with movement appears blurry. The different modes change that blurriness but it's always a bit fuzzy. We've tried using YouTube TV, Netflix, and Amazon directly through the TV as well as through a Roku device ... same issues in either configuration. Unable to return the TV and being told that for another $250 we can have someone come out and use advanced software to configure the tv seems ridiculous.
